RE: Detroit Diesel getting back in the game .....

Who owns DD now? I, for some reason, thought that Daimler Chrysler had bought them out.
The last I heard it was Roger Penske, He devoloped the series motors.

RE: New Format

I don't see anything wrong with the new format. Right click in the page and select either Back or Forward from the popup box. It's so simple.
Remember, nothing changes if nothing changes.
Don't work that way for me. when I right click on the page the forward button is grayed out, Just the back button works.

RE: Tire Pressure Monitor

I have the TST 10 sensor system for over a year and have never had a sensor go bad yet. I did have two that had very short threads and would not seal right from the start, but they replaced them and no problems since.

RE: Workhorse Brake Failure Update

I have a 2003 W22 which also experienced brake failure last spring just a week before the recall notice. I went to a brake shop and after inspection we decided to replace the rear calipers with rebuilt ones. When the recall notice came out we followed instructions from Workhorse and sent all the info to them. Last week a check came for reimbursement which was over $1,100. They said they were 4-6 months out in dealing with all the requests but they did come through.
bomre340
Please do post you story on IRV2.com workhorse chassis forum. There is a thread over there that is saying NO ONE EVER gets reimbursed. They need to know that it DOES happen, even if rarely.

RE: Siena motor homes

I have seen them and they are made by a relative of John Crean the founder of Fleetwood and the designer of the Bounder M/H. They are not a luxury coach but do have a lot of options that make it better for a full time snowbird IMO. Not a coach that you can load up a lot of stuff as I remember, not a lot of CCC after you get it at the curb.

RE: Slideroom Stuck

To answer your question.... Yes, there is a manual release IF it is an electric slide. You need to look at the moter and there should be a small lever on one end. try moving the lever and see if the slide will move then. If not that will at least release allow the slide to be cranked in manually.

RE: Tire Pressure Monitor

Another vote for the TST system. Have had it for about 18 months now and it works great. Since I have a Workhorse chassis I'm concerned about the known brake problem so having the temp readout is a big plus for me.

RE: RV conference replacement for Life on Wheels?

IMO the one that may come closest to LOW is The Gypsy Journal rally in Yuma in March 2010. You can check it out at HERE
There will be vendors there but I know a lot of the same seminars that were presented at LOW will be there by some of the original speakers that were at LOW.

RE: Allison tranny won't upshift

Sounds like it went into limp mode for some reason. You might try hitting both the up and down arrows at the same time twice, that will put you into diagnostic mode. Read and write out the code #'s. Then get your Allison manual out, it should give you the diagnostic codes and tell you what the problem is. Sometimes just shutting down and restarting will make it go away if it is just a hick up. Good luck.

RE: Motorhome tail swing

There is a formula for figuring the amount of tail swing an individual motohome will have.
I can not locate that info can anyone advise the formula or the link to it?
Has something to do with measuring from the rear hub.....
Musicman is dead on right. The only thing to add is if you have a tag axle measure from the rear bumper to the center line between the tag and drive axle. That will be your pivot point if your tag does not retract.

RE: Unknown switch on Bounder 35E

I think it says ICC (mine does) I don't know what ICC stands for but I've heard possibly Interstate Commerce Commission.
That is correct. The Interstate Commerce Commission has since been disbanded by congress but a lot of their regulations have been kept and kind of grandfathered since they have become so widely accepted.

RE: Workhorse W22 Brakes - False Alarm Incident

I am not so sure the wheel nut torque should be loose enough that you can remove them with hand tools unless you carry a 4' breaker bar with you. My MH is in storage at the moment but I think the lug nut torque is around 450-500#. That is more than hand tool use. You probably have 22.5" wheels and they weight more than I care to lift anyhow. That is why I have Coach-Net and carry an unmounted tire.
I think he was talking about the wheel covers not the actual wheel lug nuts.

RE: Tire Pressure Monitoring System

After installing the tst unit or any of the others do you have to balance the tires? Just seems like the sensor would put the tire way out of balance. I am asking because i am looking at the TST system. Thanks
I only had to re balance the toad tires. The m/h tires never changed that I could feel.

RE: sluggish full room slide out

this message is for jerry - i contacted the guy in ca. and he gave me a price of $500.00
this seems quite high?? do you know of another source ?
deem64.deam@gmail.com
No I don't have a cheaper source, that was the price I paid also. When I called Power Gear they wanted almost $1,000.00 for the same part. I thought 1/2 price was pretty good.

RE: sluggish full room slide out

Also make sure you have the engine running. If you still want the motor this is the guy I got it from. rmv096@sbcglobal.net
He is in Southern California so would have to ship it to you. He might be able to drop ship it from Power gear. His price was just about 50% less then Power gear wanted. After he replaced mine with the new hi torque motor it works great, slower but no hesitation and even with the outside compartments loaded.

RE: smog inspn in CA

like info on smog inspection in CA. Got this MH in jan 2008 and will be due again in jan 2010. what do I need to know. take the doghouse off before I go? go anywhere they do inspections?, or do I have to take it to specific place?
What I have done is call a shop and tell them what size coach I have and can they do it or not. Some shops don't have the room to fit a large coach in. I have never had to put mine on a dino. And only once that I can remember did they lift the dog house.

RE: Workhorse dash

I wonder if there is some confusion as to the problem. Everything works normally with no bells or whistles going off. Fuel gauge temp gauge spedo and tach all work normally the problem is the LCD display that shows mileage and trip meter, volts and oil pressure is not readable.
I had your same problem and had the dash replaced by a workhorse service center at no cost. The had to call Actia or W/H not sure which for an ok, took the dash out and sent it in had the replacement module back in two days. Have not had a problem since. You might try calling Actia at (574) 266-2672, The man I talked to three years ago was Paul Windbigler, not sure if he is still there now but at least you may be able to get info right from the horses mouth.
