RE: San Antonio

We stayed at Blazing Star. Really nice and we did all that you are planning. Also, Bass Pro, the Alamo and the Buckhorn Saloon Museum.

RE: Branson, MO

We like Ozark Country Campground. Quiet, clean, close to town, large pool, cable, wifi, and won't break the bank!

RE: Convertible sofa replacement

We put a futon in as well. My 16 year old son loves it. The original couch that made into a bed was horrible. The thin foam mattress let you feel every metal part. We bought an upgrade futon mattress online and it is soooo compfortable! we still have the original couch in our home in case we want to put it back in for resell.

RE: Branson to San Antonio Avoiding Dallas

We towed from Arkansas to San Antonio thanksgiving week. We took the toll road as advised on this forum around Austin. It was a really easy road, not hardly any traffic. They did have signs posted they would not be accepting cash I think starting in January.

RE: Hwy 49 from Hwy 61 to Brinkley

I actually lived on hwy 49 about 5 miles out from Brinkley. This was years ago though and it's just a two lane as far as I know. Never made it all the way to Helena so I don't have any bridge or construction info. Your post just brought back memories! Hope you get the info you need! Lynn

Anyone been here?

Just planned an overnighter at Waco Airport Park campground. Anyone been there? Just needed a stop between home and San Antonio and that looked like a good choice according to RV parks reviews. Just sort of wondering before we get there? Seemed sort of complicated getting there off I-35. If you have been there and done that, let me know. Thanks!

RE: Pulling through Austin

Soooo, from all this about the Toll Road, should we take the Toll instead of just sticking to the interstate straight from Dallas to San Antonio??

RE: Pulling through Austin

Thanks, we will be just going through! I remember it split before we knew what happened and then before you knew it we were back where we were! I guess I didn't know if we were "supposed" to be on one side or another. Lynn

RE: I-40 Western Arkansas overnighter

Just got back from Petit Jean State park out of Morrilton last weekend. WOW! So very pretty you might have to stay two night! Oh, and on edit, there is a nice Wal-Mart in Morrilton.

Pulling through Austin

My family will be going to San Antonio for Thanksgiving and this will be the first time towing. Went about 12 years ago and the only thing about Austin I remember is that the interstate split! We didn't know, had never been there before and we just "happened" to end up back on the correct road. Any advice on those that "know" how to get through Austin! Thanks in advance!

RE: I-40 Western Arkansas overnighter

We stayed at Lake Dardenel. We have a 35 foot fiver and had plenty of room in our section. Sorry about the spelling of the lake!

RE: Need ideas for Thanksgiving

Thanks for the replys. It looks like we are still leaning towards San Antonio. Kit, we did play Woodlawn and won. I think it was our first game of the year to win. My son plays on the junior high team. We heard Woodlawn may not have football next year. Hope it isn't so. We went one year without football because not enought boys would go out. It just seemed like our little town was dead that year. Just something about everyone supporting their team, win or lose. Lynn

Need ideas for Thanksgiving

We live in south Ar and want to take a Thanksgiving trip. We went to the Gulf last time and stayed at Anchors Aweigh in Foley. We really enjoyed it and the area. Does anyone have any ideas for a different trip that would be one or two days drive? We will have about eight days total. My dh wants to go to San Antonio, but I'm not convinced that would be good for Thanksgiving.Ideas needed! Thanks, Lynn
