RE: Help with gun selection

Look at something like Mossberg FLEX™ / FLEX™ 590 Tactical a short but legal barrel and a collapsable(sp)stock. Easy to maneuver. There are different loads for rounds. Good luck and stay safe.

RE: Off brand ATV's

Look at taotao for a decent Chinese 4 wheeler. They have a one year waranty, my grandsons has had very few issues. Biggest problem is screws have loosened or fallen out on trim. I applied Loctite on all that I could and now no problems. If there is a dealer near you they will do any warranty work. Good luck and have fun.. I would not buy one from Ebay or anywhere else that has to ship it to you.

RE: Veterans

I can tell you that going to the Patient Advocate works. The only drawback is after going to the P.A. you have to go back to the same Dr. or at least I did. He and his nurse were not happy with me. You can change your Primary Care by going to the administrators office, they have a form for doing that. It asks you the reason and what type of Primary you want i.e. nurse practitioner, Physicians Asst Or M.D.. Also if you are signed up with Healthevet use the secure messaging system to send a message to your doctor explaining your problems. This message stays with the system and the doctors record. I did all these things when my Primary Care physicians Asst ignored several issues. You can also send a complaint to the inspector general who will respond. Administrators hate this but it works. My best wishes for you.. Bob J.

RE: So what did you do to your Truck Camper today?

Transferred ownership of my TC to my daughter. Health issues have kept me from using it except for very short trips so now it is owned by a very high-energy,outdoors loving girl who will use it as it should be. Sad day but a good day.

RE: Overnight between Terrell TX and Amarillo

US 287 is a fairly busy road, with a lot of truck traffic. And a lot of small town speed traps. Wichita Falls would be a good halfway point out of Ft.Worth. Either there or Vernon. There are many inexpensive motels and areas to park if using your RV. Have a safe trip.Bob

RE: MPG question

My 2011 Dodge 3500 with a regular cab and my TC (which weighs about 3000 lbs.)gets 11.7 overall, city, highway. I drive at least the speed limit maybe 10 over if traffic allows. Truck is bone stock and handles fine.

RE: Ramp Suggestions Please

I use a small step-stool made by Rubbermaid. Easy to store and works as advertised. http://www.rubbermaid.com/Category/Pages/ProductDetail.aspx?Prod_ID=RP091074

RE: Good Dental Bridges, Dallas, TX

This dentist is in Arlington, about 15 miles further west of Dallas. I took my daughters there and they both liked her. Has a good reputation. http://www.pecanparkdental.com/

RE: What happened??

I don't think there is more violence now than there was years ago just more sources to tell us about it. Situational awareness is (to me) the key to avoiding most trouble but we all know there is no such thing as being 100% safe. Whether you have a weapon or not is a choice each individual must make. As noted by others bear spray is a good deterrant as is wasp spray. Have fun camping.

RE: Old Buddy

Thanks for all of the nice comments. Buddy has been a lot of company since my youngest has left for college. He tolerates me until one of my daughters comes home and then I cease to exist. I built him a platform to perch in the sun, has a step on it as his jumping ability has declined a bit. http://s1298.beta.photobucket.com/user/rj146/media/004_zps12923a4d.jpg.html#/user/rj146/media/004_zps12923a4d.jpg.html?&_suid=136052935686503165282459854548 height=4 width=6

RE: How about cars you did buy, but wished you hadn't?

Traded a 68 Firebird (base model, nothing fancy) in for a Vega. A Vega G.T. ....I almost weep typing this.

Old Buddy

http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag45/rj146/001_zps6572cdb7.jpg width=640 Hello everyone, I read the pets forum every day, some very nice stories and photos. I thought I would share my story of Buddy, an old tomcat my daughters and I adopted from one of our neighbors. He was 19 when his owner ( not sure anyone owns a cat) had to go into an assisted living center. I figured I would give him a place to live out his last days, the lady at the humane society had told me noone would adopt such and old cat. That was 6 years ago. He is still healthy and his DVM tells me that his only issue is some discoloration on his gums. That and he is cranky. I took him for his first and last trip in the camper last weekend. He was not impressed. Stayed in the corner of the bed and hissed at me whenever I got close. Hope everyone has a good weekend.. Bob

A touching tribute to a good friend. I could see the love for Bear in the words you wrote and could see Bears love for you and your family in the pictures you posted.
