RE: montana 3075 pulling and campgrounds

I tend to agree with Donn 0128. I like the stability of a DRW. That's just my opinion. Montana generally puts out a decent product.

RE: Tool box for wheel well area of pickup bed?

If you have an extended pin box....you will/may have clearance issues while towing. Oops....Just took for granted you were pulling a fifth wheel. Sorry!

RE: Designer 35RLTS and Jayco Talk...Thanks Frank!!

Blue, for tv just slide the panel back as if you were accessing your central vac. Look for the grey coax cable there. If you have the ext entertainment center you will see where they installed a splitter for it. Just use that splitter for a tv hook up but remember if you want to feed a seperate satt receiver there you cannot use a splitter. FYI, that coax continues on to feed your bedroom tv so if you disconnect it to watch tv outside you cannot watch in the bedroom. The plan is to disconnect the cable at the splitter where it goes to the bedroom and then screw-in the cable from the basement TV when we want to do that...when finished we'll switch the cables back Any electronics store should carry a switchable splitter. It has one or more inputs and one or more outputs with a selector switch built in. This eliminates the need to disconnect and reconnect the cables...just slide the selector switch to get desired input to desired TV. Sounds like you just may need a splitter with more outputs.

RE: Cardinal Wife Wants is Too Heavy!!

Good info Butch...may I add that the DRW does handle a higher pin weight....Oh I do see you kind of mentioned this fact also. Good info!!

Fishwagon...If you're not comfy being a little overloaded go for the new truck and enjoy!! Jetboater...yeah...you are in trouble!! You must have been listenin' to the truck salesman...or the trailer salesman?

RE: Heartland's Big Horn versus Keystone Eversest

Just not buyin' it k-camp. You promote the brand so constantly, if you are not being paid by H.L....you should be. I believe you are on their payroll. Either that or you are obsessed with H.L. and need to broaden your horizons!! On the other hand if I were to take you at your word...I too fulltime and run my travelling business. Something in common with K-camp....Lord help me!!

RE: Heartland's Big Horn versus Keystone Eversest

Except, I don't need to own it to know that an off brand LCD in a Keystone versus the #1 rated Samsung LCD in Heartland, or a no name surround sound versus Sony or Jenson system is just the start to cutting corners. When the surround went out in my Laredo, I hopped online, and lo and behold there were many others that had the same problem. Keystone didn't even question it. They just cut me a check and said go buy your own replacement. I suspect they expected it to fail. Just fail outside of warrenty is all. How long have the Montana / Everest/ Keystone / Bighorn owners had theirs? I see many of these are newer rigs. You need it longer then a year or 8 days to fully know quality IMO? The only thing I'm sure of is we agree one one thing - you have to have a good dealer or you'll just make things worse. I couldn't agree more...those of us who have owned our units for awhile are the ones who really know their quality, or lack there of. We've lived in our Bighorn for more than two years now, and even though it's not been problem free, this is by far the best RV we've ever owned. We recently found that the major problem we were having with a sidewall was actually created by a suspension problem on our C4500 truck, not by Heartland. Heartland, however, stood behind us thru the whole thing and never let us hang out there...actually they helped us to determine the problem with the truck and we had it repaired while in Goshen. As for the Bighorn's construction...this thing has held up beautifully thru two years of daily, constant use. Everything works beautifully..have we had to fix small things, sure...who doesn't when you live in it. Would we buy one again...in a heartbeat!! At this point, unless something changes with the company, we are Heartland owners for good!! I don't know anything about the Everest so I can't comment. I will say we just the other day, while at a Camping World, looked at some new Montanas...all I can say is, in our opinion, they just couldn't compare to our Bighorn, especially in quality of construction. Kakampers...why don't you finally just admit that you work in the public relations department for Heartland? Your not fooling many here! We've got your number. It's been a good run. Now c'mon..just fess up. The truth shall set you free!

RE: Jayco & Heartland Settle Trademark Infringement Case

The rapid deterioration of the this thread which started out about two companies, and has now turned into personal attacks, is exactly why so many people we've met over the last several years wants nothing to do with this forum...very sad...but par for the course... I couldn't agree more!! Well said.

RE: Jayco & Heartland Settle Trademark Infringement Case

Speaking of unit names....everytime a Heartland product pulls into a CG we are staying at I automatically want to label the poor souls in it as petty, defensive and just plain nasty. This is due to the way SOME of you Heartland owners behave on this forum. I get a real kick out of reading SOME of you Heartland owners comments. I should say it's not just the H O that come off this way but....SOME of them do seem to be crusty and disagreeable. Very entertaining though...for a casual, infrequent reader like me. Keep up the good work!!

RE: Don't forget to check BBB

Nope 55 or 60 would be fine. Of course road and weather conditions would have to be considered.

RE: MaxAir 2 Vent covers

You are correct inrcflyer. You made the right choice. Ristdw...This upgrade allows you to open the vent cover and or run the fan when it is pouring rain.

RE: Don't forget to check BBB

65 mph?? What is the speed rating of the tire? Most OEM trailer tires are not rated to travel 65.

RE: Ya just gotta love our US Seals

Well my wife called this one! A couple of days ago she said "why don't they just have a sharpshooter on each pirate and simultaneously have at it? D.W. didn't even crack a smile when she said it...she was DEADLY serious. I think she should get Mrs. Clintons job. In my opinion America has to send more messeges like this.

RE: Designer 35RLTS and Jayco Talk...Thanks Frank!!

Hi all. We have 11 months in fulltime so far. We bought a good residential king mattress back in December. I pull the mattress about 12" away from the wall toward the foot of the bed before retracting the slide. I think it helps it not to bind against the wall. I help it up while retracting also. I agree with Loydt, once it's up...the metal arms (not shocks) hold it up securly. Edatlanta: not trying to be a dink, but you should reconsider towing a 35 RLTS with that truck. Our trailer, fully optioned and dialed up for fulltiming is at the limit for our tow vehicle. A one ton DUALLY of your choice is the smallest truck I would use for the 35 RLTS...IMO. Good luck, be safe and have fun!!

RE: Ordered new fiver. ( A Jayco bunkhouse)

Congratulations! Welcome to the Jayco Family, there's a lot of us here! I love that upper living room for the kids...lucky kids! And I can't quite understand the entry door in the master bath! Just don't forget the screen door is open if your sitting there! Until you get yours and post pics, this will have to hold you over! This is a Jayco like yours! Have fun with that big, beautiful 5er! I would say the outside door is for the kids bathroom needs when they are playing outside and wet or dirty! Saves tracking through the whole trailer. Great choice!! Hard to go wrong with a Jayco.

RE: Starchoice Receiver and dish compatibility

Thanks for the quick responses. We are currently in Vegas and heading to Havasu for a week on Monday, and on to Yuma from there. Hopefully we will get lucky and find a dish suplier further south. Any of you fellow Canucks know if it would be possible for our BIL in Ontario to pick up a dish ONLY (we already have the reciever) and ship it to us? I have serious doubts that the BIL will be able to get one without going through a lot of red tape.

Starchoice Receiver and dish compatibility

Hi, I have searched previous threads, but cannot find the information I was looking for, which is this: I have brought my Starchoice receiver down south, but cannot find a dish to buy down in the US. My neighbour has offered to let us use his Dish Network dish, which he doesn't need any more. We are under the assumption that this will not be compatible, but are not sure. Does anyone have suggestions for a dish that we can buy in the US to run with our Starchoice receiver?

RE: Do you like toilet seperate from shower and sink?

Ours has all in one bath. Find it to be a bit more like home than the separate set-up. It's just me and the wife so modesty is not an issue,(we've been married a long time)! If we regularly had company or kids along, we would have a second washroom.
