RE: Winter Suggestions

We also use a heat tape on the water hose, and don't have to be filling the tank and running the water pump.

RE: Help from furnace experts.

It is normal for the fan to run after shut down to cool down the furnace. It sounds like it could be the sail switch not proving air flow to the control board.

RE: Air Compressor to Blow out Lines

I purchased an air filter goes between the compressor and my paint gun. It removes water and oil from the air to prevent contamination of the paint. It wasn't terribly expensive and I bought a second that lives in my winterizing box. I purchase a replacement filter each year. Ron

RE: Drunk driver wrecked my truck tonight - pics

That is the pits Bob. When I go down to visit the kids in Surrey, I sure enjoy the return trip to the North Thompson. Give me the mountains any day. Glad no one was hurt, and hopefully you won't be too long getting the truck repaired. Ron

RE: Where to Take Cat on 1st RV Trip

We take our cat with us when we travel. We tried having him in his crate in the truck but his displeasure was vocal and drove us insane. After a lunch break we left him in the fifth wheel. Now when we are hooking up to travel he goes to the bedroom and either gets in his doorless crate or curls up on the bed, which is where we find him when we stop. He comes down to greet us and terrorize the dogs. He seems to like the trailer over the truck for travel, as he is much more relaxed at the journeys end. He has never been outside since he was about a week old when he was orphaned and hand raised with his two brothers and a sister. He does like to sit in the doorway and look out the screen. We have a tag on his collar engraved on one side with his name, and our cell phone number on the other side.

RE: Hitch Hoist

Like Allworth I use the crane on the front of my fiver to lift hitch out of truck. I lift it till I have enough clearance to drive truck out from under and then install a padlock on the pin and leave it there until the next trip. Tried the "two men and a boy" but had a hard time finding the other man and boy when I needed them. The only muscle required is putting hitch in and out of rails.

RE: water stain on the ceiling

I called the RV place and talked to the ladies that detail the RVs. She uses a mixture of one part bleach to two parts water. You spray the stain from the outside edge and blot with a clean towel. Do not rub. work towards the middle of the stain, Spraying then blotting. It is not a quick solution and your arms tend to get tired from all the overhead blotting. I did mine using Oxygen bleach and it worked.Probably took a bit longer than the chlorine bleach would have, but didn't feel like driving 80 miles to get Chlorine bleach when I had oxygen bleach at home. Next trip to town had to replace DW's Oxy bleach. Really had activate the selective hearing on laundry day when her supply was low.

RE: Winterizing the new camper

When you have your rig into the Dealer why not ask them to install a pickup line for the pink stuff. I have one with a two way valve. One way allows the water to be drawn from the tank, and the other position closes off the tank and lets your pump draw from a jug of pink stuff.

RE: High-pitched whirring sound in furnace...

Hi Jen, It sounds like the bushings are going in the furnace motor. Unfortunately they are a throw away motor. It isn't too big of job to change out, and with all the other repairs you have done, I can't see you having any problem doing it. Let us know how you make out. Ron

RE: Injector cleaner

I have found that Seafoam works very well. Had an injector problem on my 7.3 power stroke. Changed the fuel filter and filled filter bowl with half the can of Seafoam. Poured remainder of can in tank. after 500 km rescoped engine and injector fault was gone. I now pour a can of seafoam in every 10,000 km and fill filter bowl on when changing filter.
