RE: RV Paid Off

Boy, I know how you feel. It is a good feeling to have that monthly payment . DW and I paid off our 2006 Revolution In just under three years. We had a 20 year loan on it. And, we claimed the intrest paid each year on our taxes.

RE: Geico RV Insurance

Back in the mid sixty's I was in the Military and could not get geico unless I was in Pay Grade E-5 or above. The minute I turned 25 and was rated E-5, I applied with GEICO and was acepted. Other than a six month period when Good Sam's told me GMAC could save me money, which they did not, I have been with GEICO for 47 years and never had a problem. Back in the sixty's GEICO had another compant which offered lower rates for military personell who were not E-5 or 25 years of age. I can't remember what it was but that is what I had up until I was 25 and qualified by being E-5

RE: Entry steps, Class A Diesel.

I just want to thank all of you for the info you passed on to me, well all of you but one, I did manage to get under the RV and gave the Step motor a few good whacks with a hammer. It's working fine now. Sure am glad I didn't call the Mobil Tech. Although I did have a good experience with a Mobile Tech a couple of years ago in May Port Florida. He came and repaired one of the Air Conditioners and saved me from a big bill if I had taken it to CW.

RE: Potential dealings with my RV

Rick, I dont know about your question but I would like to say that Granite Ridge is a nice looking rig. We had a 2004 and there is no way you can beat the interior of it unless you are talking about the Motor homes in the upper brackets. We were really happy with ours but DW wanted something larger, we have a 2006 Fletwood Revolution now.

RE: Entry steps, Class A Diesel.

I have been out of comission for a few days but I havent forgot the forum. I haven't yet had a chance to investigate the problem further but plan to soon. I did have plans to look at it today but it is raining and sleeting outside. I did crawl under and looked at it and Yes, it looks just as I expected, Two steps with a motor and struts with several strange wires going off into the reaches of where ever.

RE: Don't Laugh, it really froze here

Some people are never happy!
Katrina gave you waterfront property.
BP gave you free oil.
Now you get free Calamari and free Ice to pack it in and you still want to go surfing! LOL
Woops, When I first read the LA part I thought Louisana. Just noticed you meant LA California. Now the LOL is on me.
Don't know who the Laugh is on but I'M laughing my donkey off right now.

Entry steps, Class A Diesel.

The entry steps are not operating and at 73 years old I need the dern things. I have never looked under the coach to see what is involved ( that is probably why they are inop at the present)Any how, Can anyone set me staight on what to expect when I get down and look at them. I am assuming they probably need Lube Job. On a previous RV which was Brand new with about one trip on it, I had a problem with the steps. The Mechanic at CW said it needed a bigger hammer. That didnt work and they had to replace the whole unit. Don't know if the second problem was caused by the larger hammer or not but after I got the MH back, never had any problems with it.

RE: Bobcat on our trail camera

I am 73 tears old now but I can still remember My incounter with a, so called, tame Bob Cat. I was about 6 years old at the time. My Father worked in the Ship Yard In Charleston SC. We lived nearby in an Apt Complex. About a block from where we lived, A fellow had a Pet Bob Cat tied up behind his home. All the kids in the neighborhood would walk up and pet the Cat. I was alone one day and no one was around. I walked up to the cat and he stood up on his back legs and grabbed me. It pulled me close and bit me on one side of my face and clawed me on the other. I freed myself and ran home with blood streaming off both sides of my head. Mom grabbed me up and took me to the DR. He bandaged me up and told my mother He needed to contact the county Rabies people. They called My Father and said they needed the Head of the Bob Cat in order to determine if it had Rabies. Dad got his shooing iron and went to the man's home and told him what he was going to do. The Fellow said to my Father, "Over My Dead Body," Dad swung the gun on him and said, " Make up your mind now because I will have to take you first and then reload." About that time the police arrived and shot the Cat. It did have Rabies and I had to take 21 rabies shots in my stomach. I STILL DON"T LIKE BOB CATS.

Entry door and Screen

I am having trouble with the entry door on our 2006 Revolution. It closes ok and is sealed but at times, the screen door will stick and when opening the Entry door and it is very difficult to open. Once the door is open, I can press the slide button on the screen and use the other hand and jerk it open. When departing, a knee works ok. I am wondering if one of the doors is crooked. I have tied lifting the screen door forcefully from the front edge and this works for a few days and then it is back again. Any input will be really appreciated.

RE: Tecma toilet

One of the pleasures of being a DUFUS, We dont ask why. Sometimes We acidently trip on a hidden switch and everything works again. :h Life is good. :B All through my life I have fixed many things and in AWE, stepped back and wondered what I did to fix it.

Tecma toilet

I don't know for sure if I am in the right forum but Here is a DUFUS report. Not long ago I did a post concerning this toilet. After trying everything I know and everything every fellow RV'r told me, I remembered that somewhere someone had mentioned shutting off 12 volt power and pushing the flush button several times. I figured I would try it. I tripped the main breaker and waited a couple of minutes. I pushed the flush button several times with no response. I turned the power back on and was listening to the different units load back up when I heard the toilet flush. I stepped into the head and the toilet was filling up with water. I flushed the toilet half a dozen times and It is working fine now. Would some please direct me to the head of the DUFUS line so Ican accept my well deserved DUFUS award? :S

RE: On Board air compressor,

I started the engine and the guages built up to where they usually do. I shut the engine off and let it set for 15 minutes, turned the ignition switch back on without starting the engine and the guages were at the same place they were. Everything must be OK. Thanks for the info.

On Board air compressor,

DW and I have a 06 Revolution and It has a Compressor up front somewhere under the driver's side seat. My question, should it be serviced or is it good for a few hundred years? My rear air bag does not fill all the way according to the Dial on the dash. It is at the 3:20 position where the front is near the 5:25 position. I have never seen this addressed here on this forum

RE: Back Seat Driver???

That's what DW said it was, a small DVD player for kids. I asked her how she knew that? She said, "Dont You Remember, You Bought Me One For My Birthday." I remember now and also remember when she threw it at me. GS asked her what She was doing with that toy DVD player in her lap. She was laughing when she tossed it at me and said. "I just didn't want to make you feel bad because you really thought you had bought Me A GPS." She did the same thing that time I bought her a stering wheel for her side of the RV.:h :B

Back Seat Driver???

I recken I have seen it all now. This afternoon DW and I were at KFC for one of our favorite meals. When we pulled into our parking place there was a car parked next to us with a GPS hanging over the back of the front passenger's seat. I looked at it and called DW over to look at it. I asked her if she wanted me to rig up one for her. Fried Chicken doesn't taste quite as good with a knot on my head.:B
