RE: Honolulu, Hawaii

When we went we just pulled into the parking lot and walked up and purchased our ticket right there. I also don't remember how much it cost but it was not bad. As I recall we had to gather with everyone else when it was our time to board the boat. While waiting there was plenty to look at and of course the gift shop is right there.

RE: visiting California

Having read many posts about Calif, such as the bad roads and the heavy traffic, it makes me wonder if calif is a place to avoid completely. I know they have many places to see and things to do, I have seen them and done that when I was young and foolish but it just seems the bad out weights the good. maybe it's just the old guy in me thinking.
Yep! Avoid California! Plenty of other states for you to go to!!
Nothing to see here folks,,air is bad, roads are bad, allot of young foolish visitors doing dumb stuff..........
Or as we used to say "Welcome to California now go home". :)
Seriously though, California can be a great place to visit. It is a large state that offers just about anything you could want. Problem is that everyone seems to want to be at the same place at the same time.

RE: Marathon Negotiations

Just recently bought a new car. Long story short, after test driving all the brands and models we were interested in I requested internet quotes. Local quotes were high. Daughter had just purchased same brand from a dealer out of area and got a great price. I contacted the internet sales manager she dealt with and within the hour I had a price quote that was well below any of the others I had gotten. I did contact the local dealer and asked if they could match or at least come close, they would not. We ironed out the details via email and they delivered the car to my house on a date and time of my convenience. Paperwork was all in order, just had to sign and we had a new car. Easiest new car purchase I have ever made. As far as service it has not been a problem. It has been in for regular service as well as warranty work and local dealer handles it.

RE: ice cream

There is alot of talk about this around the net. Evidently Breyer's has changed their formula for some of the flavors and they no longer can be called ice cream so they are now frozen dessert.

RE: Why Do You Post Here?????

I mostly just read through the comments anymore. I do get some good information but likewise have found some of the advice to be a little off. I have also learned to do my own research to verify the information as to it's validity. One of the biggest things I have learned is to ignore some of the attitudes that a few members seem to have. For some it seems like it is a game of one upmanship. This can be either in their display of knowledge or their material possessions. These things I have just learned to ignore.
As for one of the comments above about having a little humor. I try, funny thing is the only post I have ever had a moderator delete on any forum I have been involved in was an obviously tongue in cheek post on this board. Did not violate any rules, I read them. I was not bashing anyone nor was I told why it was deleted.

RE: Password Protected Files Issue

It appears those are some pretty common files found on a Dell system. I am guessing that they have something to do with a backup system. Not anything to be concerned with.

RE: Recording videos and audio as it plays

It sounds like you simply want to capture video from a website. Can be done simply with the Video DownloadHelper Add-On if using Firefox. If using IE the FlashCatch plug-in works well.

RE: San Luis Obispo to Las Vegas

I would take 46 to 33 south to 7th Standard to Hwy 99 south to 58 east to I15. The more conventional, and probably the route I would recommend if you are unfamiliar with area, would be to just take 46 to 99 south to 58 east. Personally I would not take 58 from I5 into Bakersfield. It is a little confusing and going through town the traffic is sometimes bad. I think from SLO 46 is the shorter route and does not have any serious climbs. As TOOBOLD mentioned the downhill grade on 166 into Maricopa is steep. 46 just underwent a bunch of major construction so road is good.

RE: Non-resident recreational vehicle registration in New Mexico

I know nothing about Florida law but I do know that would NEVER wash in California.
We even have a snitch law here. There is a snitch number you can call if you see an out of state plate and think they live here but have their car reg'ed in another state.
You can reg it in Montana through an LLC. It's a complex process and takes a lawyer to do it. My friend did it with his Volvo "motor home".
Cost a little over a grand to do it and make it legal. The CHP tried to bust him over it but since it is legal there was nothing they could do. He is happy. Something to think about.
Not so sure the Montana LLC will necessarily keep you from registering in California. I know of a case where some fairly affluent business owners were doing this. Long story short someone did use the snitch line and turned them into the DMV. After some investigation and a court battle the DMV won out. This has been several years back but I don't think much as changed.
Here is a link to Board of Equalization legal document addressing the issue as far sales and use tax:

RE: The Song Title Game

There were a couple of posts in between that have evidently been deleted. I did request that mine be deleted as well since it no longer was a legitimate response. If it helps you those titles were It's My Lazy Day followed by It's My Party. Oh well it's just a game.
