RE: How do you handle Internet Services?

We run our business from the road, so we have to have consistent internet. We use Verizon's MiFi. 4G service where available, 20GB/month for $59/month. Only one place over the last three years have we been disappointed with the service.

RE: Gas/service station with ample in and out space????

We rely on The Next Exit when we're traveling. Shows you what's at each exit, stations in red are those that are good in/out for big rigs.

RE: 2009 2500 GMC

We had a case where something went haywire with the security system and it locked everything down. It was a paperweight. Towed it to dealer, they changed one of the modules and haven't had any problems since.

RE: Where What When

Like others have said, "whatever you want!" Get your mail forwarding service set up, establish your domicile. We did that before the house was sold. Then head for warmer weather. Go visit family and friends. Part of the enjoyment (for me anyway) is the planning itself even before the execution. Live within your means and go enjoy this big country. Find a central location where you can get that big hog out and enjoy!

RE: America's Mailbox ridiculous price increase!

Really no different than when America's Mailbox changed addresses from Main Street to Americas Way is it? If you don't like the increase, move on. Haven't found a business yet that just tries to break even.

RE: Too Early to Start Thinking???

Absolutely not! I think the biggest problem people have is they knee jerk into it without research. Pick through this blog, there are tremendous thoughts on here. Good luck to you, it will be here before you know it!

RE: New Heartland Bighorn PDI checklist?

Check out the Heartland Owners Group. Great forum, very knowledgeable. You should also look into membership, it's a great value.

RE: What kind of gas mileage do you get towing?

Chevy 2500HD with Diesel and Duramax: 11 mpg towing a 15k lb. Heartland Big Horn 3670RL. (Otherwise, this truck gets about 17 mpg). Same truck pulling a 12k lb. Keystone Sprinter TT, got about 10.2 mpg. Not always about the weight, often about the design.

RE: Sweetheart Rally XI, Kerrville, TX Feb. 13 - 17, 2013

Wanted to let our Sweetheart Rally friends that Connie's cancer has returned. 3 weeks ago a chest X-ray turned up some spots. Yesterday, MRI's showed that there were some places in her brain and she was immediately admitted to the hospital here in Corpus. Talked with the neurosurgeon last night and the plan of attack seems really good, not going to have to cut, rather use computer guided, laser something or other, i.e. a "cyber knife" next week. PLEASE don't fill this thread with "sorry" messages. Rather, friend Connie on Facebook if you haven't already, and let her know you're thinking of her. Thanks.

RE: Keeping small dogs out from under the TT

24" X pen works great. We used the garden fencing that was like snow fencing. Our second one, though, could squirm out of there. Spend the $50 and get a section of the 24" Xpen.

Would like to thank everyone for their hospitality and friendship. Connie and I had a great time, hoping to see all of you sometime down the road.

RE: Aransas Pass - Port Aransas ferry ?

Agree with VickienFred (they seem like REALLY smart people), two weeks mid March I wouldn't, but any other time is fine.

RE: AC question?

I don't think it's brand specific, but it could be. Our Heartland BigHorn 3670 has a thermo stat on the BR and main units.

Classic. Thanks for posting that.

RE: Travelling with dogs

We equated leaving our girls (Boston Terriers) in our AC cooled or furnace heated rig (in their crates) the same to leaving them in our AC cooled or furnace heated sticks and bricks. Anything longer than 6 hours planned, though, and we're taking them to be looked after.

RE: The Down Side

That dying on the road thing would be a bummer.
