RE: Airing down the g614

Air down to about 20psi. The truck about the same. You will be fine. Its not like your traveling very far at 30mph. The sand is very forgiving to tires. If you must air up while parked so they dont get damaged. But you will be fine.

RE: best credit card discounts

Use a commercial fueling network. The intrest rates on these so called cash backs are fluke. You will end up spending more if you dont pay off every month.

RE: pismo beach sand with wd bars and airbags. few questions.

Well we should be setting up camp right now, but my truck decided it didnt want any part of the first grade out of the valley heat. I noticed a slow down about .5 mile up the hill. Then on the screen it showed "REDUCE ENGINE POWER". A picture of a engine thermostat showed up with a wrench. Made it to the top of the 1.5 mile climb, pulled over let it cool down and made our way back home. Only 45 mioes into the trip. Half way home I had my brother n law come hook up to the trailer and tow it home and I drove the truck home with no trailer. Every time I got on the accelarator the engine temp maxed out and "Reduced engine power" came back on. I think its the oil cooler. So Ive been told. Monday Im going to take to 2 shops and get a quote. Ive been told its about $2200 to repair. Gues I will find out Monday. Thanks again everyone for the help. This would have been our first full beach camp in about 7 years. Have plans on trying next weekend if I get the truck fixed.

Have camera ready. Seems like lots and lots of people get stuck at Pismo. :) Ive been to pismo many many times. Been stuck only once. A bada$$ jeep pulled me out. He hooked up to the rear of my trailer and backed out to the shoreline. Im not worried about getting stuck. "Stuck Happens". Im more concerned with what to do with the WD bars when on the sand.

RE: pismo beach sand with wd bars and airbags. few questions.

1) Yes you need the bars even with the bags. Your hitch probably states that as well, certain weight up to # without WD and above that you need WD. Deflate the air bags unhooked, use a measuring tape to measure the top of front bumper and rear bumper to ground. Now hook up, use WD bars and measure again, adjust air bags so you're level and should be the same measurments as without the trailer or equal for front/rear bumper. i put about 35-40 psi in my bags. Trailer sits level. No WD bars driving around block. No faster than 25mph. So I should hook up. Measures front and rear bumpers. Then tighten bars to level. Add air in bags?

pismo beach sand with wd bars and airbags. few questions.

This will be my first tow with a TH TT. Im used to large 5th wheels. So a few questions regaurding my topic. 1. How many of you tow with air bags with the WD bars? If so what PSI? BTW, my truck sits level with just airbags and no bars attached. Do I really even need the bars? 2. When on the beach, should I unhook the bars or leave them connected till I get to my spot.

RE: 2014 Glamis Dunes Land Take Over

This is proof of what we can do when we: -Are united in purpose and are willing to go the distance. -Are willing to put our money where it needs to be. -Are focused on THE TRUTH, real science, and the scientists willing to speak it. -Are willing to fight the court battles, from beginning to end. This isn't the beginning of the end, it is merely the end of the beginning. This is a template for changing the trend that has had junk science and litigious anti-access groups steamrolling lawsuits through the courts. I hope the folks fighting these battles all over the country all take notice, take a moment to celebrate, and then put their noses to the grindstones and keep the faith. Glamis isn't over, not by a longshot. But we won, this battle in the never ending war, and perhaps even more importantly we can now show people that we know how to win...lets keep it up. next Pismo

RE: Newbie looking to buy fifthwheel toy hauler

Length has nothing to do with weight or any relevance to your truck. You can haul quit a bit with that truck. It depends how big your pocket book is. If I were you stay somewhere under 18k GVWR for the trailer. There are a lot of campgrounds that will not accomadate large trailers. So that to depends on where you enjoying camping. If you stay where 35' is max then start there. If they dont have any restrictions go up to 40'. There will be a few foks here that will say your truck is to small for a large trailer. From what Ive read of your post all you've said is a 3/4 ton deisel. If you are fine with a 35'+ trailer and afford it, go for it. Again length and weight have NOTHING to do with each other.

RE: Newbie looking to buy fifthwheel toy hauler

Since you are in central cali, head over to Toy Hauler Liquidators in Fresno. Check them out. Huge used selection. Dont get discouraged with the "look" of the units. They fix and clean up everything.

RE: How to make or buy Toy hauler ramp cables and mounts

Hello all, I have a new Vengeance V396 and I want to make a patio out of the ramp door. I can't find any plans or any outlets that sell these cables, mounts or plans. Any ideas, pictures would greatly appreciated. 6stonetribe go to a home improvement store and find your way to chain and cable section. Figure the length you need and buy the coated cable and mount hooks, locks or what ever is they are called and make your own. Maybe $20 at most. Or mount 2 or 3 fold away legs. Kind of like the old school fold down sofas in the older TH's. Mount them to the top of the ramp so when the ramp is open you fold down the legs and its one big deck.

RE: 2015 Weekend Warrior At Giant RV

Because there was a huge market with the WW name attached. Thats why! When 70% of all TH have WW on the trailer, you gamble with the name and risk the goods and bads. Its a smart move for the new mfg.

RE: 2015 Weekend Warrior At Giant RV

The new WW are not built by the old crew. To think they will be garbage is ridiculous. Old issues were with the old mfg. not the these new ones. This new company has the NAME only.

RE: My first trip out, very overweight.

Mental Note: Never buy a used short bed SRW, set up to pull a fiver. It may have been used like the OP used it. :R I did. I dont have a problem. My current 2008 f250 had nearly 95k on it in Dec 2011.
