RE: califnornia non commercial class A

Hey, since this thread won't seem to die, I have a question to add. I had to get a medical certificate for a vanpool at work. It's the same certificate for the Class A license. What are we supposed to do with these certs? I figured it would be a card or something small that's easy to carry. Am I supposed to keep this 8.5 x 11 piece of paper with me all the time? I just renewed my Med Cert. It is a big ugly paper. Not the old fit in your wallet green card. Thats the the DMV for you, making things that were easy more difficult. I now have to keep this PAGE in my log book binder. My question for you is if you wet to the DMV to show them you did take your physical? Once they input it into the system you are good. Yes you must carry with when driving the Vanpool. Thats the vehicle you are certified for.

RE: Can I replace radio with a radio/dvd combo?

Is this for your hauler or your truck? If this for your hauler you will have to run A/V cable in order to use the dvd and get audio and video to your tv.

RE: 42 Foot Toy Hauler with 2063 Pound Dry Pin Weight?

3 axles trailers carry more on the axles. My friends 3 axle on my truck handles much differently than my 2 axle. plus the axles could be more centered on the trailer instead of further back for the weight to be so light on the pin.

RE: Live in CA, like the Stealth 21' TH.but?

Seems to be 108" wide. Some say must get a special permit in CA. Anyone know for sure??? Thanks, Shep If that width is with the ladder attached or with wider fenders you will be ok. The 102" is usually box, cargo, or wall width. What I mean is if the ladder sticks out that extra 6" you're good.

RE: Trailer Friendly Gas Stations

I'm going up to Pismo Beach in a few months. Last time I was up there, I had a hard time finding gas stations I could get in and out of without doing an obstacle course. Is there anything between Santa Barbara and Pismo/SLO? Sign up for a gas card from Pacific "Pride". There are 2 stations disigned to had big trucks. Just go on line. Will they allow someone who doesn't have a trucking company get a card? Yes. They want your money. We have noticed Pac Pride is a few cents cheaper than CFN. But it could just be the broker we are set up with. There are more CFN's than Pac Prides. I personally wouldnt bother with the Chevron on Grand its redesigned but still not practical if you have to wait out on the street. There is a 76 and a Chevron (I think) across from the outlets. I think the one of those is a CFN. There is another CFN or PP on the Southbound side of 101 across from Walmart. Whatever that frontage road is.

RE: Airing down the g614

Air down to about 20psi. The truck about the same. You will be fine. Its not like your traveling very far at 30mph. The sand is very forgiving to tires. If you must air up while parked so they dont get damaged. But you will be fine.

RE: best credit card discounts

Use a commercial fueling network. The intrest rates on these so called cash backs are fluke. You will end up spending more if you dont pay off every month.

RE: pismo beach sand with wd bars and airbags. few questions.

Well we should be setting up camp right now, but my truck decided it didnt want any part of the first grade out of the valley heat. I noticed a slow down about .5 mile up the hill. Then on the screen it showed "REDUCE ENGINE POWER". A picture of a engine thermostat showed up with a wrench. Made it to the top of the 1.5 mile climb, pulled over let it cool down and made our way back home. Only 45 mioes into the trip. Half way home I had my brother n law come hook up to the trailer and tow it home and I drove the truck home with no trailer. Every time I got on the accelarator the engine temp maxed out and "Reduced engine power" came back on. I think its the oil cooler. So Ive been told. Monday Im going to take to 2 shops and get a quote. Ive been told its about $2200 to repair. Gues I will find out Monday. Thanks again everyone for the help. This would have been our first full beach camp in about 7 years. Have plans on trying next weekend if I get the truck fixed.

RE: pismo beach sand with wd bars and airbags. few questions.

Have camera ready. Seems like lots and lots of people get stuck at Pismo. :) Ive been to pismo many many times. Been stuck only once. A bada$$ jeep pulled me out. He hooked up to the rear of my trailer and backed out to the shoreline. Im not worried about getting stuck. "Stuck Happens". Im more concerned with what to do with the WD bars when on the sand.

RE: pismo beach sand with wd bars and airbags. few questions.

1) Yes you need the bars even with the bags. Your hitch probably states that as well, certain weight up to # without WD and above that you need WD. Deflate the air bags unhooked, use a measuring tape to measure the top of front bumper and rear bumper to ground. Now hook up, use WD bars and measure again, adjust air bags so you're level and should be the same measurments as without the trailer or equal for front/rear bumper. i put about 35-40 psi in my bags. Trailer sits level. No WD bars driving around block. No faster than 25mph. So I should hook up. Measures front and rear bumpers. Then tighten bars to level. Add air in bags?

pismo beach sand with wd bars and airbags. few questions.

This will be my first tow with a TH TT. Im used to large 5th wheels. So a few questions regaurding my topic. 1. How many of you tow with air bags with the WD bars? If so what PSI? BTW, my truck sits level with just airbags and no bars attached. Do I really even need the bars? 2. When on the beach, should I unhook the bars or leave them connected till I get to my spot.

RE: 2014 Glamis Dunes Land Take Over

This is proof of what we can do when we: -Are united in purpose and are willing to go the distance. -Are willing to put our money where it needs to be. -Are focused on THE TRUTH, real science, and the scientists willing to speak it. -Are willing to fight the court battles, from beginning to end. This isn't the beginning of the end, it is merely the end of the beginning. This is a template for changing the trend that has had junk science and litigious anti-access groups steamrolling lawsuits through the courts. I hope the folks fighting these battles all over the country all take notice, take a moment to celebrate, and then put their noses to the grindstones and keep the faith. Glamis isn't over, not by a longshot. But we won, this battle in the never ending war, and perhaps even more importantly we can now show people that we know how to win...lets keep it up. next Pismo

RE: Newbie looking to buy fifthwheel toy hauler

Length has nothing to do with weight or any relevance to your truck. You can haul quit a bit with that truck. It depends how big your pocket book is. If I were you stay somewhere under 18k GVWR for the trailer. There are a lot of campgrounds that will not accomadate large trailers. So that to depends on where you enjoying camping. If you stay where 35' is max then start there. If they dont have any restrictions go up to 40'. There will be a few foks here that will say your truck is to small for a large trailer. From what Ive read of your post all you've said is a 3/4 ton deisel. If you are fine with a 35'+ trailer and afford it, go for it. Again length and weight have NOTHING to do with each other.

Since you are in central cali, head over to Toy Hauler Liquidators in Fresno. Check them out. Huge used selection. Dont get discouraged with the "look" of the units. They fix and clean up everything.
