I used to live in VERY cold places in the winter. I put SALT in the holding tanks to keep them from freezing. For your black tank, I'd use about a cup of salt diluted in some hot water then pour it into the tank. It should mix into the contents enough to keep them thawed. If you have doubts, DRIVE the30 miles. That is the best insurance you'll get.

Then I can I assume that you have a RV license endorsement to tow that much weight. NV requires a endorsement to drive a vehicle with a GCWR over 25,000 pounds OR tow a trailer over 10,000 pounds. Maybe your state does not, I don't know.

RE: Greasing wheel bearings
If the wheel has a Zerk fitting it can be done on the axle. Turn the wheels slowly while you SLOWLY pump in the grease. When the bearings are full the grease will ooze out of the little hole you see at the outside of the bearing cover. I did mine that way and then the following year had them done to see how the "new way" worked. It worked fine. The bearings were well greased and no problem.

The Ford is probably rated at 24,500 pounds TOTAL. That is NOT what it tows not counting the truck. That should be the GCWR and includes the truck weight as well. You need to weigh the combo so you KNOW where you stand.
