RE: Brake Upgrade Recommendations
I upgraded our Sierra with SBC performance brakes and what an incredible improvement! Larger rotors, calipers, pads, stainless lines, etc. Flush your brake lines thoroughly if you havent done so already and check out any of the aftermarket brands of upgraded performance braking systems on the market for your particular truck. You'll be amazed at the improvement. It's not going to be cheap but neither is piling up yer rig.
Happy camping!!! See y'all down the road!!!
I'll take a look at SBC, I like the idea of larger rotors and heat dissipation is going to be key. Thanks.
RE: Brake Upgrade Recommendations
@APT -- Is that the same brand for the Rotors as well or is that just the pads? We do have them locally so can probably go there.
RE: any camping gifts today?
got a Coleman Roadtrip grill so we can start cooking outside of the trailer and not have to wait for a fire to be built/hot especially when all are tired from canoeing, hiking, pulling the trailer to the site...etc; looking forward to its long term use.
Brake Upgrade Recommendations
We are planning a trip to Colorado (1st time) later this year and we have recently purchased our new TV (1999 F150 Lariat 4X4). I already know that the vehicle needs new rotors and while i am at it I thought what better time to upgrade any of the braking parts that are showing wear and tear.
Are there better rotors i should look for? where?
Are there recommendations on brake pads? (I typically go with OEM Ceramic in other vehicles)
Repack the bearings? (or replace as I'm sure they are original)
Is there a kit (rotors, bearings, seals...etc) that would cover all of the parts? if so where?
I am not looking to break the bank however since I plan to save some money by doing it myself i will save a bit in labor.
Thanks in advance.
