RE: Has this happened to you?

Just think!! If we all used Gator Aid bottles we could eliminate having black tanks and dump hoses and searching for dump stations. In my experience of being a trucker I have never been that good that I could pee in a bottle while driving down the road. I know it is done but it's got to be messy. The ones I have seen throwing these things out the window are usually imported drivers. May be that is what is done where they come from.

RE: Spare Fuel

When I first started pulling our 28 ft. fifth wheel and traveling to places we had never been, I got 2 5 gal. plastic fuel cans and filled them with diesel. I packed them with me on our first 2 trips and never came close to needing them. There was always somewhere to get fuel that was easy in and out. If you would feel better packing extra fuel by all means do it, then there is one less thing to worry about.

RE: Stolen Trailer This Morning

The bad part is now you have to provide them with a roof over their heads and three squares a day. But then again Bubba's waiting.

RE: The elephant behind the palm tree...

I would have asked him to look up this black pipe to see if the valve is opening all the way.

RE: Move it on over....

That would barely count as oversize around here, some huge pieces go up to the oil sands Yep, I have got behind some of those. You need a hockey team using all their fingers to count all the wheels. It happens weekly up there. High wide and long and extremely heavy.

RE: mysterious air leak

It could be the air line to that side of the brake chamber. Chock your wheels and release your park brake with engine off and you should be able to hear it and find what is leaking. If it is the chamber just replace the whole unit. Taking one apart is very dangerous, as there is a spring under alot of pressure.

RE: border-crossing fee for Canadians ?

The big thing will be how they collect it. If it is pay at the booth I can't imagine the line ups. Seems to me that not long ago they just laid off a bunch of border guards. Oh yeah gee now we should collect money. Aw heck who want's those darn Canadians here spending their money anyway.

RE: Aid to backing up with toad

I think the wheels on the car would roll easier than those little castors. They might work ok on really smooth concrete. I once pulled my neighbors 40' diesel Mountain Air off the road with my 3500 Dodge diesel, and man that was a grunt at 33000 lbs to get that thing moving. If you try it with a Cherokee let me know how that works!

RE: Towing S-10 4WD

We tow our 07 Trailblazer which is similar. It has an electronic rotary switch on the dash. Their is a cycle of how to do it in the manual. In the end you are in park and there is no ignition lock so no fuse to pull. It makes a great towed.

RE: Musings in the middle of the night

That's funny!! I have read a lot of posts where people complain like H about people that leave too early and Idle their engines too long and bang their doors and well you get the drift. The answer is it is a conspiracy, the RV parks are in Kahoots with the early risers.

RE: There WERE a few things about the "good old days"...

In school you would call the teachers Mam or Sir, or Mr.Mrs.or Miss. You were taught there to get along obey the rules and have respect. If you didn't there were consequences. Not anymore.

RE: Quartzsite AZ snowbirds - returning??

We were there 4 years ago and again this year. I won't bother next year, it seems to be going down every year according to many we talked with. We will probably go back to Yuma and make a day trip if anything. Some people love it there and it all depends on what you find entertaining.

RE: The Drunk Caller is Back!

A couple years back we were living in a small town, and the town drunk's name was Harold. Our phone nubber was very similar to the liquor store number which he would phone regularly and have his booze delivered. Time after time he would phone and we would tell him he had the wrong number. He would just hang up and phone again. We had call display so one day he phoned and the wife seen it was him and answered alcoholics anonymous. He would go into a tirade and hang up. The calls never completely stopped but were rare after that. One time at Christmas he phoned and I seen the call display and said Hark it's Harold he's drunk again. My bad joke for that day.

RE: There WERE a few things about the "good old days"...

Mowermech, there are some good points about the old days and also bad. I think life was harder in many ways back then, but growing up in those times you had to earn most everything. Now a days things are to easy and it shows in many ways. I guess that is progress.

RE: My last time in Best Buy

Two months ago DW bought a new laptop at Best Buy. We left the store with the laptop in the box it came in. No Bag, man we really got ripped off!! Now that I am over it I will shop there again, after all we saved $100 over the nearest competitors price.
