RE: Digital Thermostat Wiring for Duo Therm Brisk Air

I was told I can't hookup my ac to one of the 12v thermostats, one that I already have, it would need to be a 110v thermostat.

RE: Digital Thermostat Wiring for Duo Therm Brisk Air

Yes this is a ceiling unit with controls in the ceiling. Can it still be connected?
The wires are in a 6 pin connector roughly 2 ft from the thermostat. I would have to extend the wiring.

Digital Thermostat Wiring for Duo Therm Brisk Air

Has anyone installed a digital thermostat for a Duo Therm Brisk Air? I have the schematic of the wiring and the wires are colored #1 blue, #2 black, #3 yellow, #4 red, #5 white, and #6 green/yellow (ground). I would like to connect it to a Honeywell RTH221 with connections Y,G, Rh, Rc, and W. I've already connected my Suburban furnace to the thermostat.

RE: Need help with simple digital thermostat install

From looking at this pdf:
Digital thermostat install
it looks like I would connect the wires like that.

Need help with simple digital thermostat install

I'm replacing my Suburban wall furnace thermostat with a Honeywell RTH221 digital thermostat. There are two wires on the back of the Suburban, a red and white, and a short yellow one fixed on the front to a coiled mechanism. I can hook these wires up to the Honeywell's Y G Rh Rc and W. Which wires go to what terminals? Do I do anything with the yellow one?

RE: Buying inverter, single in dual out? Please explain.

I'm considering the Xantrex Freedom 20-12 or 25-12.

RE: using the VA full timing

I used a PO for a year because I lived in a town that didn't have postal delivery to the houses, received my VA meds just fine matter fact felt better about it cause there locked up in your box until you pick them up.
When I was full timing and on the road I was using Utah, Idaho, and Oregon VA hospitals. The nursing staffs complained that I needed to pick a hospital and stay put because my records were going all over the place. I even received a letter from the Idaho VA Hospital in 2005 stating that I needed to decide which hospital I was going to attend and stick with that one. Maybe you won't have this problem since Obama is making the VA digitize all the records now.

RE: Solar Panels

I do it all the time, it is cheaper to get a spot without hookups, then I just dump my tanks when I leave and fill the water, and I am good to go for awhile. My panels give me all of the electricity I need, unless it is really cloudy and rainy.
Mike
You're about the smartest of the ones that answered. I'm talking about using solar and not paying for electricity while parked in a RV park. Duh.

RE: Passengers in the camper load

No I'm not talking about passengers in the camper while driving. I'm talking about the weight in the bed created by passengers while camping. This weight has to be accounted for in the CWR according to the GM camper loading instructions for my truck on page 3
http://www.gmupfitter.com/publicat/1999_BB/LDPDF/GEN.PDF
Loading Instructions – When the truck is used to carry a slide-in camper, the total cargo load of the truck consists of the manufacturer’s camper weight figure, the weight of installed additional camper equipment not included in the manufacturer’s camper weight figure, the weight of camper cargo and the weight of passengers in the camper. The total cargo load should not exceed the truck’s cargo weight rating (CWR)

RE: Passengers in the camper load

Yes passengers are considered in GVWR, but CWR alone includes passengers in the bed only, right?

Passengers inside the camper should be included in the cargo load not to exceed the cargo weight rating of the bed right?

Truck cab water leaks and vinyl floor install

I bought my truck in southern Utah, dry climate. Now I'm in Oregon, wet climate. Sprung a leak and the water was pooling along the edge of the drivers side from back to front where the stereo speaker and sliding window wires were located and soaked up by the padding and carpet which became wet and stinky. We pulled out all the components and flooring first and started with the leak. Turns out previous owner installed XM Satellite radio and fed the antenna up through the ceiling and the third brake light. They cut the gasket and shaved some of the plastic light lens on the top and fed the antenna wire through the gap and didn't reseal it. So we removed the lens and place butyl tape around it and screwed the light back on. This leak was fixed however when we water tested again, another leak showed up. Turns out previous owner installed a sliding rear window and the window wasn't completely sealed outside where window meets truck and the water was entering through the gap and leaking down the bare metal wall to the floor. We removed the gasket around the outer window and squeezed 3M Window-Weld Super Fast Urethane all around the window, replaced gasket, and applied some inside the truck along the gap. Even though it's a fast curing seal we didn't test it until the following day and no leaks appeared. Meanwhile my new vinyl flooring had been ordered and arrived. It's pre-molded so we laid it in the sun to become pliable and then transferred to the truck floor. Had to work kind of quick to lay it flat from front to back as it can become stiff again if not warm. All that was left was to cut holes and place components back again. Now I have a new vinyl floor which I believe belongs in a truck anyway.
