There is a lot of road work going on in NH (esp 89) going to and from NH and Vermont d/t economic recovery act. Just went to Champlain Adult Campground in Grand Isle Vermont. Very nice campground if you are an adult looking for a nice jumping off point to visit the Chanplain area of Vermont.

We go to Chincoteague every year. As cloudDriver said..you can see the ponies every day of the year. The worst experience we ever had was the Crossing which was so crowded that you could barely see horses at all. They round the ponies up a few days before the crossing and then herd them to the fairgrounds. Do yourself a favor and go at a different time. Watch the crossing on CNN! (it only lasts about 3 minutes.)

We have been to Grand Isle State Park and it's very nice. We just got back from Champlain Adult Campground and the weather was pretty good. The Champlain Islands are beautiful.

It doesn't matter what we think..it's a done deal. I pay taxes in many states that I visit, so now NH has one too. I can always camp in NPS campgrounds to avoid this tax, which I normally do. Give me strength to accept things I can't change.

NH and new tax
Just to give everyone a heads up, NH now has included a new 9% Rooms and meals tax to all camping here as of July 1st. This does not include the National Forest campgrounds.
So if you are coming here for the weekend of the 4th, check ahead to see if you will be charged, or if your campground will absorb the cost.
NH isn't free anymore!

Refridgerator
Our fridge works great on AC but won't start on gas. When we switch over we hear a click, but the igniter doesn't seem to work...any hints? We cleaned the burner, checked all the fuses and the gas is working. Asking before going to the shop. It's a Dometic 2652.
