RE: Disposal of small propane canister question.

We refill them. If the instructions are read to refill you will get a full bottle. Been doing it for years with only one bad valve.

RE: Garmin GPS keeps taking us off main route

If you travel using directions of just a GPS you will get lost. We use google map on computer and also look at paper map to plot our routes. GPS is just a guideline. Good Sam also has a pretty good routing system for trips

RE: Hwy 199 Crescent City to Grants Pass .... DON'T

GS doesn't recommend it because it's a no trucking zone. We went through it this last June with our 40ft. fifth wheel with no problems. Beautiful ride guess it all depends on your driving comfort and ability.

RE: New Grand Design solitude vs used DRV

I have to say new Grand Design. All rv's are what we call "Earthquake on Wheels". When buying used you really don't know what you're getting. Grand Design has great support after the sale.

RE: Lifted truck towing 5er

Lifting the trailer could cause problems with bridge/tunnel clearance. If you do a lot of traveling it's something to think about.

RE: 2011 dodge Cummins 6.7 turbo failure

Just had my turbo changed on my 2011. Electrical problems. One time that extended warranty pays off. Service writer at dealer said it was a $3000.00 plus job

RE: Hwy 550 from Montrose, CO to Durango, CO

If you're comfortable driving narrow mountain roads with lots of switch backs go for it. Beautiful ride but it is challenging.

RE: 5th Wheels and Gas Stations???

We have a dually with a 40' fifth wheel. Very little problems fueling when need fuel. Truck stops prices are usually higher then the quick stop stations. When needing fuel while traveling we usually stop before the big cities, much easier to get in and out, prices are usually cheaper. Watch your height and be patient.

RE: SW Louisiana to North Carolina Fall Foliage

First of all you need to find a place to stay and book it very soon. Very busy part of the season. Most popular campgrounds in the Smokies will be booked already.

RE: Mt. Hood and Crater Lake RV Parks????

We went to Crater Lake a couple a couple month ago and stayed at Collier State Park. Nice place and there is a logging museum.

470 toll road around Denver

Does anyone know how much is the toll to go around Denver. Coming south on I-25 to I-70 pulling 5th wheel. Got my bill it seemed kind of high.

RE: RAM Megacab

We're on our second 3500 DRW Mega Cab. Kids call it a SUV on steroids. Pull a 16000 lb. 5th wheel with no problems.

Falls Colors

Looking to go in a different direction to see the fall colors. When is the best time to see the colors in Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado.

RE: Would you purchase an exstended warrranty for a new truck?

Yes. With all the new fangle stuff in trucks today. I had the 7yr 70000 mile on my 2011 Ram. As luck would have it, was having trouble with turbo right before warranty went out. $3000.00 plus bill which cost me nothing besides a few other repairs done during warranty time. I'd say it paid for itself

RE: Crescent City Ca. And the Redwoods.

We drove through part of the Jedediah Smith Redwoods State park in Crescent City. The road was terrible. So full of pot holes you couldn't take your foot off the brakes. It was nice scenery but a very narrow road.

RE: CO 9 to Breckinridge

Did that route with our rig with no problems. Just take your time and enjoy.

RE: new orleans to Denver

I would take I-49 to I-20 west to US 69 near Tyler. Then north to US 82 north of Bells and then west to US 287 at Henrietta. That is good highway and bypasses the DFW area and the traffic and construction. Then US 287 to I-40 west to loop 335 around the northeast side of Amarillo. Then US 87 to Dumas/Dalhart/Raton. Then I-25 north to Colorado Springs. As for miles and hours, it all depends on you and your family. With stops for food, fuel, and rest you can count on averaging around 55 mph on most highways. Maybe a little better on interstates or equal. A "quick" stop can kill your average. So think about how many hours you think the family can stand each day. The route we always take. Stop over in Tyler State park and a stop in Amarillo for the night. It all depends on the time you have.

RE: Forest River Cardinal vs. Grand Design Solitude

I've had three Forest River products, guess it took me awhile to figure it out. All three had many problems with no support from Forest River. Now own a Grand Design Solitude. The support from the factory is outstanding. Granted all manufactories have their problems with their earthquakes on wheels.
