RE: Pin box 5th Airborne 5th. wheel

As BB_Tx stated, depends on the pin weight of your trailer. The bag has to be adjusted to your pin weight. When hooked up I have 100 lbs in mine which puts it at the fill to here line. My bag is in the center mounting location. You also want your 5th wheel hitch as close to level possible.

RE: Do a walk around at every stop!

Yup...been traveling for many miles and always do a walk around but there is always something on the earthquake on wheels. Got home from our last 1400+ mile trip and noticed the spare tire was hanging loose. Add that to the list on the walk around..

RE: Baton Rouge to New Orleans

6 of one 1/2 dozen of other. For some reason after a disaster in our area the east/west interstate system gets screwed up. Be careful cause the crazy rude drivers are out.

RE: Ram 3500 DRW tire pressure

My 2011 Ram calls for 65 rear and 70 fronts. That's were I've been running them with my trailer since I bought it.

RE: Four Corners Monument

Yes it not the right spot and yes it's as some say a waste of time but it's something to check off the bucket list so go for it. As I remember it's a little out of the way but there's room for a rig. We stayed in Durango and drove there.

RE: Very little trailer brakes

The box will tell me there is a short or problem with trailer. It did when I had a problem on my old trailer.

Very little trailer brakes

Got trailer brake problems....little to none. We bought a Grand Design Solitude 369RL, set brake controller to 8.5 and it felt good, I thought. After awhile I decided to set up brake controller right so I followed setup procedures. That's when I noticed I have very little trailer brake, even with controller at 10. I've had the bearings checked and repacked so I am ruling out grease on liner. I adjusted brakes according to what manual says. Doing some trouble shooting I checked the volts at the wire splice on the brake at full output and it's about .054. Figure it should be 12 volts at full output. Question: Do I have bad wires on new trailer or is it my 2011 Ram brake box the problem. Just a little tip, 2011 Ram doesn't have the adjustable light or heavy mode.

RE: Broken rear window - looking at auto slider hitch options

Friend of mine has a new Ram with the puck system. After mounting the window and Pullrite Super Slide, I thought it looked high. As it turned out his trailer was just a 1/2" high. Not sure how it would work for a Ford.

RE: Staying south of 10 fm New Orleans to Texas: Possible?

Hwy 90 can be interesting if your not in any hurry. It will go through the heart of Cajun country. It will take you through a lot of small towns so there will be red lights and slower traffic not like interstate travel. No problems traveling this route in your 5er.

RE: Grand Design v Rockwood

Took me three times to learn Forest River products aren't worth my hard earned money. From bumper pull to higher end 5th wheels their quality leaves a lot to be desired. Not to mention the support personal don't care. Been having the Grand Design for 6 months and already see better construction and product. The support personal are exceptional.

RE: Grand Design Solitude 369RL Quality

We bought our 369RL-R in March and have used it about 6-8 times. Haven't had any problems so far. We did bring it in the have the wheel bearings redone just as preventive measures for a long trip. The quality is a step above our last 5er (FR) and the support personal is the best.

RE: 2011 Ram "Death Wobble"

I've heard of the Death Wobble and never had that problem. I had a 2007 and now a 2011. There is a recall on the frontend, had mine done. I have not had any problems with my Ram. If in good shape and good price go for it. You can check to see if recall was done.

RE: Vancouver Toll Bridge

Just have to be careful what toll roads you travel or you'll get a big surprise when you get home. Traveled on the toll road 407 around Toronto and got a $100 bill in the mail. Called and complained and it was reduced to $14.

RE: Beware of Falling Rocks - WTH

Step one: Slow down. Step two: If you can't see around a curve, slow some more. If you come speeding around a curve in the mountains and find a big rock in the middle of the road, you may wind up with a pretty banged up rig. And if it's a big boulder, well, the boulder will win. The chances of being hit by a rolling rock are pretty small. The chances of seeing a big one in the middle of the road are a good deal better (but still pretty small). The chances of seeing smaller rocks in the road are better still, especially after rains. And even a smaller rock (say, 3 or 4 inches) can do some major damage to your tires if you hit it. :) Lynn As small as a chance there is, we found one. We were traveling in Wyoming mountains coming down and around a turn and there it was. Being from Louisiana it didn't register seeing a large brown thing in the road. First thought road kill elk, then it dawn on me....Oh Hell a boulder....LARGE....REALLY LARGE...car coming the other way. All I could do is aim for the spot between the boulder and rail hoping to fit. When we got through I looked in my mirrors and it was close...really close. Wife and I looked at each other and said "OHHHH S@%& !!!!! So folks, it does happen.

RE: anyone have any experience with the Good Sam Trip planner?

I use googles, figure miles and go back to trip planner. Also use http://www.rvparkreviews.com/. Been doing it this way for years.
