RE: Glacier National Park

Mountain Meadow in Hungry Horse, a delightful place to stay. That is where we would definitely go back for a visit to Glacier National Park. X3

RE: CG Recommendation, St. Ignace, MI

We stayed at Lakeshore Park Campground. Nice quiet park in St.Ignace on the lake. There was free shuttle service from campground to docks for boats going to the island. http://lakeshoreparkcampground.com/

RE: Jayco or Primetime?

Owning a Primetime/Forest River, I would not suggest the Primetime for full timing. The quality of construction leaves a lot to be desired. With my Crusader it is a work in progress to keep things together. The latest project is the bed on the front slide. The screws pulled out of the wall for the second time. Made some revisions, hope it holds this time.

RE: Camping near Minneapolis, MN, Recommendations please?

We stayed at the Minneapolis Northwest KOA in Rogers MN. It was nice with a pool and playground. The place was full over the weekend, so the locals must like it.

RE: Forest River - 2009 Sierra 356 RL

Had a 2007 it wasn't worth the money, poor quality and workmanship. Got rid of it after 4 yrs. it was falling apart.

RE: St Augustine and New Orleans RV parks

Can't help you much on St Augustine unless you're retired military. We stay at either Mayport Navy Base or Jacksonville NAS when we're in that area. I would recommend AGAINST Jude RV in New Orleans. We pulled in there late one evening our 1st time in NOLA. We weren't familiar with NOLA at the time and only went there because we thought it was convenient. We just stayed the 1 night. There are several train tracks and switching yard behind the campground that are constantly busy all night long. Really really noisy. The trains did kind of drown out the police and ambulance sirens. The sites are close together and could be tight if you have a long rig and others in the area are long and stuck out. It's not the best area of town. Generally if you see something on Chef Menteur Hiway it's not a place you want to be walking around at night. For NOLA I recommend any of the LA state parks. LA has very nice state parks. Water, electric and WiFi. No sewer hookups but dump stations. Very nice clean shower houses. Very well maintained facilities and grounds. We have been thru St Bernard SP several times but haven't stayed there. We usually get into NOLA from the north or west so St Bernard is on the wrong side of the city for us. We have stayed at Bayou Signette SP several times. Easy to get to from the west and not all that much traffic. Nice quiet campground. On the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain are 2 state parks a few miles on either side of the causeway are 2 nice state parks. Fairview-Riverside SP to the west of the causeway and Fountainbleu SP to the east. Both very nice. X2 on north shore of Lake Ponchartrain, a little ride but safer.

RE: fading front cap on 2016 Crusader 5er

Go over here and read about all the other ones that have faded and what they've had done. Luckily you've had it show up while under warranty. http://www.forestriverforums.com/forums/f210/my-crusader-has-the-dreaded-white-fade-cap-92762.html Contact Prime Time while it's still new. They won't do anything with an older trailer even though it's been a problem for a long time. Tell them you want it painted and not buffed. Buffing is a cheap short term thing.

RE: Buccaneer State Park, choose route carefully

If coming off of I-10 take the first Mississippi Rest Area exit coming out of LA. Go right till you see the road that goes to the Silver Slipper casino (well marked). That road takes you to the gulf then turn left. Do a googles on the route if need the name of the roads.

RE: A/C ok drivers side but only on/off passenger's side (P0483)

The A/C problem you are having is a blend door in the HVAC duct system under the dash. The code you are getting is a different problem with the engine fan.;) The older Rams are known to have trouble with the blend doors breaking. Very expensive fix at the dealer, it involves taking the dash apart to fix the problem.

RE: 2012 Ram Laramie

On a non DEF Ram 6.7, schedule maintenance at 60,000 mls is changing the egr filter and egr flush. Just had mine done at a cost of around $500.00. Check the maintenance report from the Ram dealer.

RE: 2014 Ram 3500 Laramie Longhorn

I agree with the lease thing or rich boys toy. If carfax looks good bring vin number to Ram dealer and he can give the history of the truck. My 2011 was a rich boys toy with lots of toys added. Bought from a Ford dealer who got it from an auction. Been having it for 3 yrs and it has been a pretty good truck

RE: RAM 2013 or RAM 2010?

Just a little info here. I have a 2011 which is a none DEF engine. Just spent $1000 to change the EGR filter and clean the EGR system and flush the turbo. The EGR system filter and flush is part of the 60000 mile maintenance program for the truck. But hey...I like my truck...

RE: Needles Highway Black Hills South Dakota

Took that bus tour a few years back. Good as the bus drivers are the busses have their scuffs and dents.

RE: Canton Texas CG for Trade Days

Mill Creek Ranch RV Resort is a really nice place. A little higher price than some of the others. A short distance from the trade days grounds and they provide a continuous shuttle back and forth. But it may be hard to get in on that short notice as they really book up for those weekends. X2

RE: Pullrite Super Glide? or Reese manual?

Newer trailers have cut back front corners which give more room for turns. I have the pullrite on my rig and I never worry about hitting my trailer, cut back corners or not. What is the price of never having to worry about hitting....
