RE: LED 'puck' light replacement

use the LED bulbs....the 12 led 5050 are equal to the 10 watt halogen and the 18 led 5050 equal to the 20 watt bulbs and no heat.

RE: Hwy 209 from Port Jervis to Kingston, NY

We were Rondout members and broke the contract because of them taking off the road reservations when we were made to use a first come policy.

RE: World's Largest RV Show: Worth the Trip?

RE: intel-core vs AMD

I went to AMD years ago because of Intel business practices...I would never go back. As for gaming its AMD all the way as you can adjust your systems settings (low level) and you can not with Intel. You can get more performance for a lot less with AMD also. FYI the game system processors are built by a joint company of IBM and AMD. As for Dell....stay away....he cares only for money...layed off 14K US workers and moved to Mexico for the bucks.

RE: led lighting

the awning wire is powered only while being used...chances are you will not be able to run wire with that cable. I drilled a small hole thru the wall and put the control on top of a cabinet and got 12 volts from the light mounted under the cabinet

RE: Roof leak TPO

I think you have a leak from the AC seal not the TPO. If the wood is sound you should be ok. Use a fan and a dehumidifier to dry it out

RE: rear axle ratio change better towing capacity

you should be able to find a used complete rear end for around 750 in either 373 or 410 ratio. I would do the 410

RE: Jayco, what does the dealer know that I don't know?

Not every item is paid for by the factory under warranty such as adjustments. Been told this by many dealers including a relative that was a long time dealer. Dealers work "adjustment" money into the sale price. Getting a local dealer to repair another delers sale is not the same as being on the road. If they see a local address they will put you on the end of the list servicing their customers first....something I as one of his customers would expect.

RE: F150 rear axle gear change

RE: Allure flooring issues

MrWizard...no Allure is glued down they both float. And yes it SHOULD NOT be used in rv's that get stored in the cold

RE: Hyde park..home of Franklin Roosevelt

I would suggest Interlake...know it well 10 min from my home and owner is great (Steve) but be spacific as to the full hookups as many sites have grey water pits and you use the dump station for black or the honey wagon...that said I suggest you also visit the Vanderbuilt Estate also in Hyde Park on rt9 north of FDR...be sure to take the walk on the walkway over the hudson, old RR bridge now a walkway and bikeway...and while in Rhinebeck be sure to visit the Old Rhinebeck Areodrome...largest collection of flying WWI and older planes along with a museum. If you are going to be there after June 15 or so the areodrome actually does a flying show on weekends. Also on the south end of Hyde Park on rt9 is the CIA (CUlinary Institute of America....beautiful to tour nd some good foor. I think the new higher end resturant is due to open soon. Also several winery tours in the same county. One last thing is across the river from Rhinebeck (10 min or so from CG) is Kingston. Great waterfront resturants and a river cruise that lasts about 2 hours in the eve (boat is the Rip Van Winkle. Lots to do here BTW they are still doing a major renovation of the FDR home but it is still open.

RE: Changing diff. oil ???

While you are at it be sure the cover is good. Mine rotted through causing the fluid to run out and blow the diff. Ford had a problem with this and in 07 changed to a cast aluminum cover. The replacement steel cover is twice as thick as the original.

RE: Redwood slide damage

I would walk away too. Why take a rig that has been damaged and will NOT be warranteed by the manufacturer should you have a problem later say while traveling since it was damaged.

RE: Seasonal to Towable

Be ready for leaks once you start to travel. Having set that long it will now flex and open cracks in caulking and seams

RE: Redwood 5th Wheel

Every rig has problems no matter the brand. What matters is how good the dealer is...does he do a complete prep....does he truly know the product....how good is his reputation with the factory...etc. Find what you like then talk to the factory about the dealer...you'll be surprised what they will say. JMHO

RE: Open Range (All Lemons)

The failure and damage caused by the EXPLODING water tank is NOT an OR problem. It is that of the water heater manufacturer. Read your warranty...EVERY company has the same exclusions. OR didn't make it so they are not going to replace the unit...that is a stupid statement to make...it would not happen with Heartland either.

RE: Let Us Install Prices Misleading

FYI...some of those disposal or recycle fees are state mandated charges.

RE: Open Range (All Lemons)

Of the 4 things the OP is pissed about only the frame is a true Open Range problem. They do not make the appliances only buy them. The roof leak sounds like a failure to maintain on the OP's part. The AC manufacturer (Carrier) left the rv business (not OR fault) and he was ripped off for 11 hours work. I bet an AC guy could have replaced that bad thermistor. I toured OR and there were 2 things I saw that would cause me to not buy one...first was 1/2" plywood on the floor not T&G...and the second is the use of the cable slide system. That system has been trouble since it was introduced in the late 1980's and has a much higher failure rate and required maintenance then other systema. Overall a well built unit.
