RE: Can someone help me understand this?

I pay my two credit cards in full each month, but the credit rating business does not know that. They just go by average daily balance owed, and my average is quite high.

RE: electric ice tea maker and best brand tea

I love good iced tea, but it is hard to make at home. I believe that you have to use bottled water and store bought ice. A real pain, but it does help. To really go all the way, buy Sonic ice from Sonic Drive-Ins. Most restaurants have iced tea that is so weak, it is not worth the money, about $2.50 here.

RE: Hillbilly Hi-rise

I think that it is a well thought out vacation home built on a floodplain. And, it certainly cost a lot more to set that up than just leaving it on the ground. A responsible homeowner that does not expect insurance to cover damage every time the water rises.

RE: Driving with no valid license because of a catch 22

The fact that the OP's license has expired does not make a difference. He would still need to apply in person with many pieces of identification due to the change in law Jan 2010. You can not renew online UNTIL you have renewed once in person, providing all information. According to the FL DMV web site, you can use a social security card OR W-2 form, pay check, SSA1099 (should have one with each years tax papers) or any 1099 to get your license.

RE: Replacing Curtains with real Bedroom Door

Our Airstream had a mini pleated accordian door. Took up little room, didn't really show as it pleated to about two inches and looked nice when closed. Another one had a sliding door.

RE: 7 pin plug any damage?

Thanks for the replies. I have not started the tv yet, but the ac in the tt is working. I am new to this solo traveling, and don't quite understand the electric, batteries, etc. I have always heard that you do not plug into ground power when the 7 pin is plugged into the tv.

7 pin plug any damage?

I left the 7 pin plug plugged in when I plugged the tt into the house power. Have I damaged something? It was plugged in for about 18 hours.

RE: Anyone purchased a Tailgater recently?

Thanks. I read your links and will read them again. Pat

RE: Anyone purchased a Tailgater recently?

Thank you! I just received the Tailgater this afternoon and picked up the receiver from Camping World. I still have to subscribe to Dish, but won't unpack the Tailgater until the 21st, so I assume I can wait until then to have it authorized. Haven't decided to go pay as you go or contract. I will be using the Tailgater for the tt only. Thanks again. It was a bit confusing in the beginning.

RE: Sewer Donut

Most any rv parts store (rv dealer) will have one and I bet that the campground that requires one has them for sale. In many years of camping, we have not been required to use a donut but a very few times, but it is a small inexpensive item and if needed, it it really worth it to carry one with you.

RE: Anyone purchased a Tailgater recently?

I just ordered a Tailgater from Mararios RV and it should ship today. I am going to Camping World at Winter Garden and pick up a receiver. Camping World is backordered for 2-3 weeks for the Tailgater but a Camping World 45 min. from home has a receiver in stock. Thanks for all of the replies! There is no place quite like RV.net for good answers to questions! Thanks again.

RE: Anyone purchased a Tailgater recently?

Have you activated your Tailgaters that were purchased from Makariosrv and Dyers? I have read that if you do not buy the Tailgater from Dish, that dish will not activate it. I quess that if you already had a Dish account that might help.

Anyone purchased a Tailgater recently?

If so, would you mind telling me where you bought it and how much you paid? I am leaving soon on a trip and would like to have a Tailgater set up, but am finding $500 the price, including the receiver. I think that by paying $500 you can get it by the month, but do not know if that includes the half price 12 month program. It is all very confusing and would like to hear from others what they have done. For me, roughing it is a RV park without cable. I am one who uses my tt as a rolling motel room and bring my own guest room when I visit so the Tailgater would be nice to have. Plus cable in rv parks near where I visit is hard to find in SW Florida. Thank you. Pat

RE: Roadtrek or Pleasure-way?

We have owned three Pleasure Way Bs. Each was great, just had trouble deciding on the floor plan. At the time, PW had several floorplans and some were larger than others. (Chevy) The wet bath in the PW was the reason we stayed with PW. Now I think that Roadtrek has much improved their baths in the past several years. We went to a rally at the PW factory in Canada and took tours of the whole place.

RE: I 10 or ? from FL to Dallas

THANK YOU! Yes, a shout. Somewhere in my mind I had that I-10 is a nightmare for some reason, but now will take it without another thought. I will not go thru New Orleans and will cut up before Huston. Thanks again. Pat

I 10 or ? from FL to Dallas

I will be going from Florida to South of Dallas next week, and have been given three different routes by different map web sites. My husband and I went across I-10 a couple of years ago, but I don't remember much about the trip. Is I-10 ok, or should I take a more northern path? I just want the easiest route. I won't be towing anything-going to pick up my Casita in Rice, Texas, and then will go north to Missouri. I don't want to spend hours driving thru unpopulated areas, but want to be safe. I have OnStar, so I won't feel totally alone. City traffic is ok. Any replies would be appreciated. Thank you, Pat

RE: Glamping

I use my little Casita as a rolling hotel room. I have two Yorkies and prefer not to stay in other's homes when we visit. I am not anti social in a campground, but have usually put in a long day of travel and am ready to watch tv and sleep. I do love my Casita and it is much more comfortable for my Yorkies and me, than a hotel room.

RE: about portable cube antenna

Still trying to figure this out. I think that VuCube and Winegard are a lot more expensive to start up than Tailgater. If I order a Tailgater, receiver and subscribe to Dish, I should be good to go? Is there anyway to get internet thru this Tailgater? Can two tvs be hooked up to one receiver? (Both would have to watch the same station). Thanks for your help. Pat

RE: Florida gulf coast with inshore boat access???

San Carlos RV Park in San Carlos or Ft. Myers Beach may be exactly what you want. I haven't been there in a few years, and at the time it was a bit "rustic" but I would stay there. Several spaces have boats right there.

RE: All available space....

Maybe you need a MH to live in and tow a cargo trailer for the business. It sounds like things are going great for you!
