RE: I know, wheel chocks again?! but theres a new problem!

I changed from wheel chocks to scissor type because it seemed the TT always rolled about 1/2 inch when I raised the hitch off the truck.

RE: How far can you tow prior to fill up?

I have a Chevy Silverado 1500 towing 6500 lbs (wieghed at truck stop) with 26 gallon tank, get 9.5 mpg and usually limit each run to refueling to 160 miles. Probalby could streach to 180 miles if I knew of a specific destination to refuel.

RE: Major downsize, anyone else?

We downsized from a 28ft to 23ft. Needed to lighten up to back down a steep driveway and 28ft was right at Chevy Silverado 1500 limit. Less storage area is noticable but otherwise plenty of space inside.

RE: Trailer Axle Replacement

Due to severe tire wear, I had my TT axle replaced last year for $600 including the cost of the axle. A local 18 wheeler trailer shop did the work. I sure would not try it myself but a mechanic type may tackle the job.

RE: Power stabalizers or use your drill????

My battery drill is not strong enough to run each of my 4 stabilizers all the way up or all the way down, so I use and plug-in drill. I plug in to the 20A outlet next to the 30A at the camp ground pedestal. Works well.

RE: Sad times - January - Time to winterize.... wah wah

8 gallons? I can do it with 4; 3 in the tank to run the pump to fill lines and 1 to pour in traps, tolet, some in black tank and grey tank.

RE: small TT-how much depreciation are we talking about??

Fair is about 25% off list price. Don't worry about value in 5 years when you trade-in for 60% of what you paid. Just be ready to enjoy the new TT upgrade. It is the cost of the life style!

RE: NEW PURCHASE!!!

I purchased a 2010 Dutchmen Lite 25C and I am pleased so far. Be sure to ask how to access the water heater bypass ( mine is accessible by removing a bath room drawer) and where is the TV antenna booster button (mine was inside a cabinet behind the DVD player, had to cut access hole to reach it).

RE: thinking about selling out

We sold out when our children were teenagers and they wanted to take beach condo vacations. When they were in college we bought another TT and started again either just DW and I or group trips with RV friends. No more beach condo's now.

RE: Fresh water pump location on 2013 Dutchmen Coleman 310QB

I used 4 gallons, 3 in the fresh water tank to run in all lines until pink comes out and one to pour in the traps and grey and black tanks. It is not very expensive so go for it.

RE: Rv cover revisited

I use the ADCO cover from October to April due to leaves falling from nearby trees. No problems and TT is clean when uncovered for the summer.

RE: I finally did it!

I used 4 gallons also. 3 dumped in the fresh water tank to run pink in the lines, then one to fill traps and pour some in grey water and black water tanks. I have not found a location to tap the pump which is in the slide out but does not seem accessable.

RE: Winterizing my Passport

Thanks for the comment on "Let's go camping". To access my bypass valves (there are 3), I remove the bottom drawer in the bathroom wardrobe where I can then see the water heater down and to the right. All valves horizontal is bypassed, all vertical is normal. I have not had any problem getting the "pink" taste out each summer and anyway I have not found my pump to add a inlet tube. (It may be under the kitchen sink in the slide out but no apparent way to access it.

RE: Winterizing my Passport

My TT does not have a pump tube so I pour 3 gallons of RV antifreeze in empty fresh water tank. After turning the HW tank bypass valves and draining the HW tank, I turn on the pump and look for pink as I open every faucet and flush toilet. Take the 4th gallow of RV antifreeze and pour in all sink and bath tub traps and enough in sink to get some in the grey water tank and in the toilet to get some into the black water tank.
