RE: How to mount a flat screen tv outside

I installed a small TV in the "basement" as well. Mine is on one of the articulating arms and stays mounted all the time. The volume doesn't go up very loud on the small TV though, so if you aren't sitting within 6' to 8' of it, you're not hearing it!

RE: How much are you willing to ?

I pull my 38' 5er with a '12 F250 Super Duty 4x4 Diesel. Mine has a dry weight of 10,900 and a pin weight of 1,920. I know I'm probably pushing it but the truck handles it great.

RE: Pulling A Fiver With A Extended Cab

I went with a loaded Ford XLT extended cab because it fits easily in my garage. Otherwise I'd have definitely bought the full 4 door.

RE: Awning question

How do you get smashed bug stains off an awning? (Sorry for the hijack!)

RE: Slide out

In for extended storage (like over the winter), but oftentimes they are left out as it sits beside the house between uses.

RE: First Fifth-Wheel

We pulled into a campground this past weekend and, when we found our spot I said "uh oh"... It looked tough. Guy across the way with a mid size TT commented that he was glad he didn't have to back into it. I'll bet he was almost as impressed as I was when I backed right in on the first try!

RE: Towing with new pickup

I'm no expert, but a little nose high wont hurt. Post a pic of the trailer on the truck.

RE: Front Living (Which one)

KZ has a beautiful forward living room model too.

RE: First Fifth-Wheel

To get mine into its parking spot beside the house I have about 4" leeway on each side. There is a gate on the passenger side and the house gutter on the driver side. I'm getting better! The troubles that I've had have been pulling it out, not backing it in!

RE: Rough start to the season!

Our new TT is about 5 ft longer than our old one and I turned it too short coming in our drive and it slid over on the wet grass and took out the steps. Haven't even slept in it yet!. New steps are going on Monday AM. $250 lesson but still cheaper than Camping World @ $460 a set and no labor. Ouch! I checked mine out good today and have no obvious damage. The bottoms of the axles were muddy though, that sucker was buried!

RE: Rough start to the season!

Well, it appears that I'm not the only one that has "stuff" happen! I feel a little better! Another problem once we got set up in the CG...the knob on one of the water valves fell off in my hand when I tried to open it! I was still able to get it turned by using a screwdriver but now there is something else to fix! I guess I could let the warranty cover it but its almost a bigger pain to have the dealer do it.

RE: Rough start to the season!

The scary part was the the trailer ALMOST contacted the right side bed rail. If it had gone any deeper I'd have had damage. I'll crawl under it tomorrow and look things over.

Rough start to the season!

Pulling the camper out this afternoon (it sits on a pad beside the house) and I dropped the right side tires off onto the yard. We've had a bunch of rain and the ground is soft. She sank about 9", almost to the axle. Had to use 4 low on the truck to pull it out and now I can look forward to fixing the 20' trench I made and repairing the sprinkler heads. Mama was freaking out, I think she thought we'd never get it out! Nobody's fault but my own. I'll bet I won't make that mistake again!

RE: tv lift mechanism

I busted mine up when I moved the camper without realizing that the TV had not been lowered. Took me a full day to remove it, rebuild it and replace it. I really wish the rods that lift mine were heavier duty, they were bent up pretty badly and I could not find replacements so I had to do my best to straighten them. Now it wobbles a litle going up and down but no big deal.

RE: Lube slide-outs?

LOL, I was gonna buy some grease, glad I asked first!

Lube slide-outs?

What should I use, if anything, to lube the teeth and gears on the underside of my 2 big slideouts? The smallest slide-out (bedroom) has no exposed gearing so I guess I can't do much with that one.

RE: Campgrounds in/around Estes Park, CO?

Made reservations at Elk Meadows for early July. $59.00 per night unless you qualify for discounts. Thanks everyone!

RE: Campgrounds in/around Estes Park, CO?

Excellent information, thanks to all. I was going to ask about that KOA, as we tend to like them, but if its that tight ill avoid it.

RE: Campgrounds in/around Estes Park, CO?

Thanks Wildwood32, I'll take a look at that one. I should probably mention that full hook-ups (50 amp) are preferred, and that I do not own a generator.

Campgrounds in/around Estes Park, CO?

Can anyone recommend a nice campground in or around Estes Park for us in June? We're pulling a 38' long KZ Stoneridge and I'm apprehensive about making reservations anywhere without knowing I can get in and out with relative ease. Great views and/or a peaceful river site would be awesome. Any advise is appreciated!
