RE: Cyclone 2812

Hi Bob I have a 2011 that I towed 5000 mi with a 2001 F250 7.3. I now tow it with 2011 F350 6.7. mine has several options and it weighs 9520 EW. Absolutely will be fine with your truck. The 250 had bags and a built tranny but otherwise stock.

RE: We Took Your Advice Ordered a Dually

Funny you should mention deliveries, the bride and I just drove to Midwest from CA and I was surprised to see 4-5 delivery tows for every personal one I saw on I-80. Saw a convoy of 4 Pumas, 3 Airstreams. Have fun with your new toys!

RE: working backwards--starting out with this truck

Suse, As a long time 7.3 owner a few thoughts, a BTS tranny with a 6.0 cooler, Ford AIS Extreme air intake, and a DP tuner with Tow Tunes and exhaust brake, spare CPS sensor and a wrench in the glove box and you would have a bullet proof mule of a truck for your needs and any 35-36 fiver. I now have a 2011 which I am very happy with but miss my old buddy 7.3, wish I could justify both of them. Have fun.

RE: New Ram president and CEO ??

With Europe being so shaky financially, Fiat has to have North America running smoothly, profitable, and growing to keep the lights on.

RE: Advice on Sizing truck Requested

My 2011 SRW 350 is 11,500 GVW with an empty weight of 8040 from Ford. IMHO you're talking dually.

RE: Questions about diesel?

Ric, I turned a gorgeous 01 7.3 into a 11 6.7 based on your blue goo ravings and your "fanboy" friends. Thanks by the way as mine has been painless, respectfully you had Ford on such a pedestal the only place to go was down. I believe the 6.0 coolers were clogging on the coolant side and the 6.7 is seeing exhaust side clogs. Towed with the Chevy yet?

RE: RV Washing Solutions

The bride loves Murphy's for all sorts of things. I'll use it and let everyone know.

RE: Waxed front cap - left smudge marks, advice???

I have had good luck with Bar Keepers Friend and water for oxidation. Just a thought.

RE: 2011 f350 transmission pump leak

I remember reading about some early ones with leak issues from the welds on the TC. Just a thought.

RE: Holmans

Having driven from CA to Holmans in 2010 for our Cyclone, what they will absolutely need is the quality of service and sales support they get from the folks in Ohio.

RE: Ford X Plan

Go to the Experimental Aircraft Association site and for 50.00 you join for one year. They are a partner group, you have to be a member 30 days to use the plan. That's all it takes, X plan price is on the vehicle invoice plus you get all the incentives on top. Dealer likes it as they get an additional 500.00 from Ford for participating. Worked great for me on my F350.

RE: Ticking Ford 6.7 after oil change

Agreed Ben, Mine is quite loud when it does it. How loud? going through a parking lot even old ladies turn and look. You can hear it in the cab with everything closed up. Totally sounds like a collapsed lifter and is going off at cam speed. The noise is too sharp pitched to be bottom end or piston slap. Otherwise it's excellent.

RE: Ticking Ford 6.7 after oil change

My 2011 has done it since new. About a 500 mile window after an oil change. Wait till you pull up next to a Dmax or Cummins at a light with the windows down. Engine is normal otherwise, great mileage, power. Just had the oil change at dealer with Motorcraft 10/30 Diesel, only oil it's ever had. Truck has 27k on it and its not as loud or as often as before. For comparison, oil, def, coolant check/ additive, fuel filters, tire rotation was 411.00 at my dealer in CA Wine Country. Happy Easter

RE: Oil Pressure Gauge

Hap, Our trucks have a switch which is set at 50 psi and is tied to a light and the PCM to signal a power reduction. The switch and the temp sensor are mounted on the housing above the oil filter. I'm sure something could get plumbed up there. Mark
