RE: How And Where Do You Do Your Laundry?

If you do your own laundry without a machine consider buying the Laundry Alternative spin dryer - your clothes will come out almost dry. http://www.greencupboards.com/laundry-alternative-spin-dryer-97514/p/

RE: Portable Washer & Dryer?

The "Wonder Washer" is not worth the trouble or the money. We left ours in a campground in France - purposely. The Centrifuge, however, is wonderful. Earns its space.

RE: What would you do. Alaska and Europe in one summer.

We shipped our motorhome to Europe in 2008 and have spent 14 months there over the years since. Having your own home to go home to every night is very relaxing and much easier in the rain then tenting. There are rental places all over. We stored Rover near the Amsterdam airport "deShelter carravanning storage" also rents. There is a lot of touring info on our blog ourtravelswithrover.com
I hear you need to do Alaska in July and August. That doesn't fit well with one trip to Europe for 12 weeks unless you start in the southern parts. People camp in Spain, southern France and Italy year round.

RE: Heading to South America!

WE followed our dream and shipped our motorhome to Europe in 2008. The planning is a wonderful part of the adventure. Enjoy every moment.

RE: Seeking opinions on what Class C YOU own/want

We have owned three Born Free, still own two. They were all used and in nearly new condition. We wouldn't buy anything else.

RE: Parking in Washington DC?

You could drive to Mt Vernon. Easy parking and a wonderful site. Otherwise I agree with all the train suggestions.

RE: Travasaks and Armrest Removals

I have made three travasak type bags. I used twin sized comforters and long sleeping bag zippers. Half a dozen pieces of velcro hold the sheets in place. It isn't hard but you do have a lot of fabric to muscle around. Sleeping bags that can be zipped together would work, also. Sew two twin sheets together at the bottom, add velcro to the sheets and inside the bag. Lots cheaper.

RE: What's the most unexpected thing seen around the campfire ?

This didn't happen around a campfire as they are not allowed in European campgrounds. Many campgrounds accommodate campers who want to stay the whole season. They sometimes provide a low deck where you can pull your vehicle up next to it and have that nice hard surface right outside our door. We watched an elderly couple drive their vehicle up on to the deck. The front wheels did all right, but the weight of the back wheels crashed through. The woman was yelling - we could hear her through our closed windows and her closed windows. The male driver reversed and rammed it back out an then pulled up next to their now destroyed deck. Don't know if the owners ever knew about it.

RE: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos

The tape is down by the wipers. It is a quick glance to see what you want to see quickly and does not replace the use of our very good double side view mirrors.

RE: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos

We recently applied about a six inch piece of black electrical tape low on the driver's side window( near the wipers). It lines up with the driver's view of the white line on the right side of the road when our vehicle is as close to that line as we are comfortable being. It is much easier to glance down at that tape to see if we have room to move over than it is to take the few seconds to focus on the side view mirror (or to ask "How close am I?") We are currently traveling on some pretty narrow Norwegian roads and this has been a great help when something big is coming at us. Join us at http://www.ourtravelswithrover.com/
