RE: I want to build my coach out of legos

Will have to check that lace out. My 8 year old grandson is a HUGE Lego fan. Has been since he was 5 yrs. old. All he wants for every birthday, Christmas, etc. his parents took him to Lego land in Chicago. He wants to be an engineer like his Daddy when he grows up and working with Legos certainty exercises the mind in that respect-lots of patience, vision, and problem-solving.
Post some pics if you get a chance.

RE: What does your RV forum name mean?

When we bought our motorhome I said this will be our summer house up north, at the lake, in the mountains, in the Upper Pennisula, at the beach, etc.

RE: First RV purchase - worth the cost for upgraded features?

Lots of good responses. Looking at the two floor plans, I lay self lean toward the Bullet for ease of use in the kitchen. Refrigerator close at hand just seems to work good on paper at least. TV seems in a good position too.
You question whether you should go cheaper with perhaps less add-ons for your first trailer purchase. My advice is to get 'as nice' as you can comfortably afford, and as big as you think you might want to go. In my opinion, the reason so many people trade up within 5 years of purchasing a TT is because they wanted to 'test the waters' to see how well they will like it before investing too much. If you enjoyed camping in a tent in the past, you will have a terrific time camping in a hard sided TT.
Purchase as much as you can comfortably afford, and you touch can comfortably pull. Get the features that make sense to you. Electric jack. Fiberglass cap are good.
My husband has frequently made a good statement, " When I make the payment every month, I want to be able to look outside and like what I'm paying for."
PS. After you bring your trailer home and you are having a blast buying all the goodies for it, pick up a 3-4inch thick foam topper at Walmart. Your backs and hips will be so happy you did. Don't buy the 2inch one to save a few bucks, you'll wish you spend a few more dollars and got the better one.
Think it through, like you've been doing. If you have gone to all these shows and dealers, you have already done your due diligence. Don't be afraid to make a mistake-make your decision, and then make some camping reservations and start your summer fun! Ohhh, and post some pictures!!!!

RE: Looking at a Winnebago Adventurer. Any known issues?

We have been looking to make the move from a Class C to Class A this summer or very early fall. Winnebago Adventurer is on our short list. We are considering the 35P floor plan. Love the strong company that Winnebago is. Also they are known for their strong engineering. Great chassis (24K). They are built very, very well. We have it currently narrowed down to three, and they are at out top.

RE: Cleaning RV Carpet

When we had the carpet and a chair done in our sticks & bricks, I asked them to do our motorhome carpet and the jackknife sofa. They only charged me $25, took them a minimum time to do, and it felt dry in just two hours. I did put a fan in to help dry it.
I have used a Rug Doctor machine on the carpet before also. I just took it easy on how much water I sprayed. I also used very hot water and pre-treated it before hand. If you haven't previously used a cleaner that causes foam, it is a pretty easy job.

RE: Downsizing A or C ?

I believe that if you get the Class C you will be unhappy. Every time you sit and have an obstructed view, you will be wishing for the Class A and all the light and view you would have had. Lots of Class A's in the 30-32 ft range. JMO.....

RE: Towed jeep odometer rolling up miles

We tow a 2010 Jeep Wrangler and there is no steering wheel lock and no key in the ignition when towing, and no mileage accumulated when towing.
As recommended, get out your owners manual and follow it TO THE LETTER when hooking up.
Since I am usually the one pulling the Jeep up to the motorhome when we are hooking up, my hubby actually printed out the step-by-step directions, laminated the card and we keep it in a little net pocket right in the dash area. That way I pull it out and do everything in the proper order correctly every time, which is critically important!

RE: 22ft 5Ver by Evergreen does this exist in tbe US?

Too bad the 22ft Cafe is not available in the States. That is exactly what my daughter and SIL are looking for. They want a 5er, but a small one and they want it kinda upscale, esp full body paint. They need to tow with a 1/2 ton also.
I say we start a email campaign!

RE: Delivery driver tip ?

I'm sure his fee is built into your purchase price somewhere. May even be an add on expense.
That being said I don't know what is standard in these cases.
However, if he is a friendly helpful guy, helps you hook everything up, answers questions you have and seems like a pretty decent guy; why not offer to at least buy his lunch, dinner etc., if not offer an out-right tip?
I sure don't know what standard would be...I guess if it were me, and I had no other advice from someone after my post, I would be ready to tip $50, if I found him to be a helpful, decent sort of guy.
Anyone else?......

RE: Towing my Jeep

We have a 2009 31 ft Fleetwood Jamboree with the Triton V10 and tow our 2010 Jeep Wrangler. It does a super job, don't even really feel it back there. I am sure I would feel it more in the mountains.
Definitely recommend a braking system for you. Your coach is up to the task.
We do make a priority of traveling light.

RE: Maryland Class "B" License Requirement

I would definitely be contacting the RV Dealership here you purchased the RV from, even if not in Maryland. Surely they can arrange for a licensed driver of theirs to help you out for little or no fee, S a courtesy. I guess this is one case where shopping local would have an advantage!
Do keep us posted on your progress! Good luck!

RE: Our new TT

Congrats on your new trailer!!! I remember when we brought home our MH. It was our first RV of any type and we hadn't been camping in 20 years. I was so excited we slept in it in our driveway!

RE: towing

We tow a 2010 2 door Jeep Wrangler, 4wd. It has a hard top for winter, and a fold down soft top for summer. It hooks and unhooks behind the motorhome in less then 10 minutes. We love it. We travel with our 85 lb chocolate lab.
We have discussed the possibility of replacing it with a 4 door version down the road, but that is the only thing we would change if anything. It gets down dirt roads, we park on sandy beaches, anywhere we want to go. It's also hubby's daily driver at home.

RE: Leaving Dog in Parked RV

If there is even a chance for it to possibly get warm in our Class C, I leave the a/c on. If it is early enough in spring, or into fall I just may leave a fan or two on. If I can't plug in, or use the generator, then I won't risk leaving him in re vehicle.

RE: From "C" people to "A "people

We are getting ready to do similar. Will be sometime this coming year. We are in the process of deciding our floor plans, think we have worked out the gas vs diesel issue. I am more in flavor of finding a 1-2 year old DP, DH wants a new gasser. ( we're kinda opposite of most couples!)
Congrats on your new rig!!! This season will be so much fun for you!!!!

RE: Class A???

We purchased a Class C Motorhome in 2009 while we were both working full-time. It was our first RV. We went with a Class C because at that time we wanted to be able to take our married kids & grand kids. It has been our weekend getaway vehicle many, many weekends. It is our tailgater vehicle, vacation rig, pile everyone in and go to the mall vehicle, (guys watch football-ladies shop), fall color tour vehicle. grand kids sleep-over treat (they LOVE sleeping in the motorhome in the driveway with Gramma). It was our escape in the driveway when our power went out for two days also once.
We will be upgrading to a Class A as soon as we can determine which unit. Our married kids are now looking at purchasing their own TT so we will not be using the upper bunk much. Will have more room in a Class A for just the two of us.
If you can afford it, I say don't waste time waiting to make the most practical decision. Go have some fun now!!!
