RE: The continuing Saga waiting for my new Ram 3500

Glad it worked out for you, let us know how she pulls that huge fiver! Don It will handle that MS with ease! Last Monday I towed from Palm Springs to Phoenix in a severe wind storm and the truck and RV were rock solid! Whats the definition of a "severe wind"?

RE: The continuing Saga waiting for my new Ram 3500

Different frame and goodies on the 3500 this MY. Also heard Cummins was having a supply delay :( Shortage of Cummins engines?

RE: New 2013 Ford GVWR increase

Huh The new 2013 Ram has the same size brakes as the 2012 MY. 2013 MY Ram 2012 MY Ram You can spin this anyway you want but clearly nothing but the brakes changed and it added 700 lbs of payload. I won't post that GM link of the Ford's twisting frame, but it was interesting. If it looks like a fish, smells like a fish, its a fish. Something fishy with this big gain in GVWR, all the while not agreeing with J2807. Could it possibly be OB came out with a 14k GVWR this year? , which BTW had a big frame adjustment to do it. I just find it amusing in all the down right false advertising being done in this country to sell your product. If not J2807 ( which doesn't apply to this size vehicle) the consumer deserves better. What's next Brad Pitt selling Titan trucks? Oh BTW not directed at you Troy :B With all your bull**** knowledge why don't you explain to us the engineering behind your findings that the Ford is not fit to support the weight?

RE: New 2013 Ford GVWR increase

...bigger brakes gives you "payload" gain? I understand frame, suspension, axle, tires and on giving one more payload gain, but bigger brakes? Explain why the Ford frame, suspension, axle, tires, won't support the weight.

RE: New 2013 Ford GVWR increase

I didn’t read much news about the new 2013 Ford F350 DRW trucks. I figured they were pretty much the same as the 2012 MY. But from the looks of these two links they increased the GVWR from 13,300 in 2012 to 14,000 in 2013. That’s a whopping 700 lbs of payload. With the recent threads regarding J2807 I just wondered what changed in the 2013 Ford DRW trucks to carry more weight than the previous model year? Or is this exactly why no standard testing is keeping us all guessing as to the truth? 2012 Ford specs 2013 specs ****ing troll! You never showed me a picture of your rail pressure gauge.

RE: 2004 gmc d\a

Well engine, the way I understand it the US government is no longer part of Fiat, err Dodge, err Ram. Loss? yes for tax payers a slight loss. How much are the US taxpayers holdings in General Motors? I rest my case. I won't derail this any longer with political views. The loss from the GM bailout will dwarf the 1.6ish billion that the old Chrysler still owes.

RE: 2004 gmc d\a

travelnutz, Please don't respond to any more of my posts since your engineering mind will not be able to understand actual on the road heavy towing experiences that prove you wrong! Dave Dave, please don't post on RV.net anymore, I find your posts boring.

RE: Well, well, well, look at this one !

The manufacturers should just play along and comply with the SAE standard. Or, it should just be made law to force them to play along. So some models would lose a couple hundred pounds (or a couple thousand). Who cares? Thats what we need some more laws.

RE: 2014 Toyota Tundra Revealed ~~~~--->

Mine's bigger than yours... :B:) Boy racer stuff comparing seconds/fractions thereof/etc to speed. Towing isn't a race, or at least for me. Will admit to liking it when some loud mouth gets his crow handed to them... :C BUT, that isn't my goal in my purchases and setting them up. Towing safety and longevity is my goal That means manhandling the setup long term and during a session with Mr Murphy All of the current and future peeks of pickups and SUVs are butt ugly to me. Insanely tall for no good reason other than looks for the fashion statement crowd Function and performance is at the top of my 'have to have' list. Another nail in the coffin of new vehicle or truck for me. Keep mine a looooooooooong time and even longer now seeing the future models Thats sad, but who gives a **** what you think.

RE: Warranty and DPF deletes

Stock truck could not make it up the south of ST. louis hyway 55 hills at the posted 65 MPH, pulling my 36' camper. brother in his f150 pulling 5er passed me up, father behind me. Did all the deletes, took the same hills, same camper. made it up the hills VERY easy and stayed with traffic, not causing any backup. EGT's were staying in the 900's trans temp 120 max, Fuel PSI 24,000. very little peddle = (less fuel used). I am over 102K now and love that I did the deletes. ON MY STOCK TRUCK at 100100 miles main computer went out, dodge would not help me on the cost. $2700 & 300 for air senser. They said it was my truck now. SO my truck i will do with it what ever I want now. 900 degrees pulling 36' foot trailer up a hill at 65? That's not much of a hill. "Very little pedal" tunes adjust the amount of fuel delivered at different throttle positions, it's not magic pixie dust pulling that trailer, it's more fuel.

RE: Consumer Reports thinks EcoBoost doesn't deliver

LINK At the bottom of the chart, they compare an F150 EcoBoost and an F150 5.0L V8. They find the performance is the same (0-60) and so is the mpg @ 15 mpg observed. Interesting findings. I wonder if their opinion would be different if they used the EcoBoost to tow a trailer and used the higher TQ available at lower RPM? Troll.

RE: power chips for trucks

H&S check it out gage tuner like bully dog different tuning. Clicky And that Bully Dog from my experience will raise your rail pressure considerably. Power yes, longevity no. How did you measure your rail pressure? Even a cave man could figure this out chuckie. But for the short bus guy here you go. Move your mouse here and left click Maybe post some more dead animals, that was a big hit. Lets see the one mounted in your truck Ricky poo? What are the rail pressure differences between the Smarty and the others? I'm sure you recorded the differences with that gauge you have to make the statement "from my experience", lets see the numbers. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DruxwgauuJs/UMfy_qmmbhI/AAAAAAAATjA/D7maiu6fScY/s1600/_facebook_735806044.jpg

RE: power chips for trucks

Does any one out there have a ACD chip in your truck? I have a 2006 dodge 3500 that I would like to get a little more power from with out over powering the tranny. This one looks the best to me. You can see it at autochipsdirect.com if you would like to look. Thanks, AZRDRNER Check out the Smarty Jr. programmer. http://madselectronics.com/SmartyJR.html http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/images/smilies/smiley_Ditto.gif height=41 width=46 IMO the safest tuner for a CTD. What makes it the safest tuner for the CTD?

Jim the link you posted only opens to the first page. Like I said I'm at work and it's a pain to try and copy n past on this thing let alone type lol. Rick can you repost your link with the tow and weight specs here so that this gentleman can be enlightened. Don It's hard to smoke weed and type.

RE: let the waiting begin, ordered 13 ram dually today

14 GVWR is the same????? Oh that's right GVWR means nothing to you :B As well as GCWR which I understand somewhat. Soon as one brand complies with J2807 we can compare apples to apples. Without J2807 us buyers are just left clueless as to what the manufactures brag about, IMO of course. I'm just wondering what RA or weights will be used in the next hurt locker type tests. Clearly the OB's cannot be tested with the weights the MY 2013 Rams have. You really believe the OB won't match these numbers? They always do.

RE: 2014 Chevrolet Web Site

I know I live in the sticks and my Internet connection is slow, but that site really sucked. I gave up looking. I did read another DAS report from one of the big media groups and the numbers where about as sketchy as the Ram was a couple of weeks ago. Did get to see it, looked about the same to me in the video. Interior was still lacking IMO, but what the heck I own a 2006 so I can't complain. The site was fine you're just an idiot.

RE: 2013 Ram 3500

If you have to ask the price you can't afford it... All kidding aside, the fully loaded price MSRP 65K. The dealership I purchased from was a place I bought my 2012 Challenger from. They are good to work with. As we all know, we don't pay MSRP,,,, at least I don't. FYI, you can order one at your dealership. P.S., no window sticker because the truck still has to be built and the dealership does not have one on the lot. I picked out everything on the computer and gave them my down payment and the truck should be here in 6-8 weeks. 2 tone paint,,,Maximum steel metallic over silver on the bottom. 18" tires and wheels are standard for this Laramie HD high output. 4:10 gears with this truck = 30K fifth wheel towing capacity... Hell, I could hook a boat on behind my Mobile Suites and still be able to haul the mail... p.s., i think the pwr folding mirrors are standard on the Laramie. I did not see a box for the mirrors and we went line by line.. The Laramie was listed with "towing mirrors" and there was no power mirrors option in any of the other trims. I'm justing going to wait and make sure I get them.

RE: 2013 Ram 3500

You seem to be avoiding the Sticker price question. f you ordered, what was the sticker price? Nobody needs to know what YOU paid. just the price and option list on the window sticker. That is a well kept secret. When I attempted to order the price was unavailable, you order not knowing the price.
