short cycling water pump

We have a 2003 Phaeton and a problem with the water pump, works fine on city. We have had this coach for 2 years and the water has never worked correctly. If you turn the faucet on the pump turns on and GUSHES water then the pump shuts off. Then it turns on--get water--then off and this goes on and off for as long as you have the faucet open. It is some better in the bathroom but the kitchen is terrible. Off-On-Off-On-etc… Prior to this we had an old 96 Bounder and the water pressure was constant. Not terribly strong perhaps but constant. At least you could shower with it. Not with the Phaeton. Driving me NUTS and I don’t have far to go ? Ron of the "Great Unwashed"

RE: Changing a rear outer blowout on a Fleetwood 35' Pace Arrow

I have changed them on my 96 Bounder 38'. Just get them as tight as you can and check again at around 400 miles. Be careful when she is up on the levelers but you will be fine.

RE: Merging onto an Interstate

Remember; “Education is Our Responsibility”, the key and I have done my share is that drivers will learn when I pull that left hand turn signal on it means I AM MOVING LEFT not I want to move left.

RE: Trouble shooting Norcold 1200 with Amish Cooling unit

After 6 hours there should be FROST on the freezer plate not just cool in the freezer. Sounds like the coil is not working. Can you plug in to electric?

RE: I shorted my engine battery, now system is dead

RE: Wood Sign to Post on Campsite

Year ago I read something that STRUCK me and I wanted to pass along. I notice a lot of people put up signs that have both first and last names. In this uncertain world we live in this does create a potential problem. If a PERP has your first name and starts pounding at your door at 3:00am calling out “Jack”, “Jack” hurry I need you now. You are apt to believe this is someone that knows you and open the door. Exposing you to who knows what. On the other hand if the same PERP is calling out “Mr. Smith”, “Mr. Smith” the odds are good you will know this is not a close friend. Just a thought but it is one I have stuck with during my travels Nope. 1)A thief's first situational attribute is stealth. They don't want to cause a disturbance or make noise. 2) Reading a name off a sign and using that information to entice you into opening the door is like asking a gorilla to drive a Porsche. There is too big a leap in cognitive thinking for that to happen. Ya I have noticed that is only the stupid that do drugs and are too lazy to work that turn to crime. All criminals are stupid as a GORILLA so "What was I thinking" I guess I better stay home.

RE: Am I Just Naive

Just like life, Fulltiming means different things to different people. We have lived full time in our RV for the past 8 years and would NEVER-EVER own another house again if you gave us one. Is it cheaper-A RESOUNDING YES. Someone mentioned $ 900.00/ month for camping fees. All I can tell you is we have NEVER spent that much ever. Like most people the first year or two you may do a lot of travelling but after awhile it seems to settle down. Our first year it was East coast/West coast then Arizona for the winter. Back North for the summer then off to Florida for the winter. The past 6 years have been Texas in the winter and Ontario for the summer. Texas prices $900.00 for three months rent. Ontario $ 1950.00 for 6 months. Our relationships with our family and friends has intensified since they REALLY want to see you now and we have met a ton of great friend out here on the road. Nothing at all like living in a subdivision. Those that are not out here have no understanding of what it can be like or how inexpensive it can be. Try it for your family, you are still young enough to go back if it isn’t for you. Your children will make memories and friends they will never forget. Get as large a rig as possible; those that buy a small trial rig are just setting themselves up for failure.

RE: Suggestions on roof repairs.....

It will bond to anything. I did the roof of my bounder and splid some on the sidewalk. Thats 4 years ago and it still won't lift off.

This is the STUFF http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/rv-roofs/38-1416.htm If you put this no it will last for 20+ years and it also quiets the camper in a rain storm. Sticks to anything. Ron

RE: ReHash RV Park Claims

I did notice you have not included the name and place of the park you had this bad experiance with. Are you part of the solution or part of the problem?

RE: winch out ?

Yes, I was in a campground and it rained for three days. The ground was heavy clay and to pull out of my site I had to go up-hill a bit. The coach wouldn't do it. The campground owner had a small tractor we tried with no luck so I called Good Sam. Within an hour out comes this monster tow truck. Parked 3 sites forward and ran out his cable. Snaked me up onto the roadway and we were on our way. NO CHARGE, just a small tip for the driver that took extra care not to hurt the rig.

RE: Call to DP owners esp Monaco Diplomat owners

Personally I would put the 5 thousand you are going to spend on warranty into the down payment and reduce the number of years you are in finance. Nothing worse than being up-side-down in a coach. In 7 years you will still owe far more than it is worth. The warranty is usually only going to help with MAJOR repair. With 52,000 miles if she hasn’t blown up yet it is not apt to in the next 4 years. The warranty will be very expensive if all you get out of it is perhaps a new coil in the frig, an inverter or some other thing that is less than a thousand dollars. If you read that contract REAL close it is not that hot a deal.

RE: Good Sam Roadside Assistance helped me in Canada

I have also had a great experience using Good Sam’s service in Canada. I will not elaborate at this time but I do think I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the fact that Good Sam does not own any tow trucks. This is a contracted service that is provided by a third party. Some will be outstanding and others will leave you standing. We need to recognize the great ones and let Good Sam’s know the ones that do not do what they are contracted to do and give the names of the companies that let us down. Good Sam’s and any others are at the mercy of good advertizing when they contract their name and have no personal experience to draw on unless we provide it back to them.

RE: 30amp VS 50 amp

OK my last comment then do as you please. It has been against the law in Canada to sell or use a 30 amp to 15 amp adapter. Many people still have them and use them but it was determind that a 15 amp cord plugged into a 30 amp breaker was a NO-NO.. 50 to 30 or 30 to 15 same s**t happens.

RE: Awning motorized

We purchased a coach that has an electric awning and after having a standard one on our other coaches I hate it. It can't be tied down safely. It flops around in the wind if there is a gust. Sure they are easy to open and close but what a POS. I would trade back any time if someone would do the switch.

RE: HOG's Leaving Daytona

Sorry but I am from the “OLD SCHOOL” when government had less “instruction” for us all and we rode without helmets. The only justifiable reason when it all started was that it made identification of the remains easier for the officer at the scene

RE: Leave tank valves closed even with full drain hookup?

Wing; when I set up at a site I put a U in the drain hose as soon as it exits the bay. This will hold a small amount of water and prevents gasing. Works just like a P trap if you will. Good idea how come I didn't think of that? :W Not enough Farm Boy :)
