RE: Direct tv reciver locked 771

if you are having trouble getting to the set up menu , when you turn the receiver on hit the EXIT button and then MENU, it will let you into sat set-up. you should not need the updates just to get the receiver to start up. after you are up and running it will update itself.

RE: Onan Marquis 5500 no output

As a rule the generator will not continue to run after the start switch is released if it isn't producing voltage.
The field coil is flashed by the control board during the start procedure. The gen must see 120 vac after the start switch is released or it will stop.
Sure sounds like a breaker on the gen or a bad transfer switch.
This is true, however i have a onan that i removed from my MH that runs fine but only puts out 75 watts.......................

RE: Comming To Your Wallet Soon

3% was a way for the credit card company to get the merchant to foot the credit card bill. Then on top of that they got the interest. As a merchant I paid the bill. No more I will charge the 3% I am sorry for the inconvenience but most have no loyalty to me anyhow. Let someone find it $1 cheaper on the internet and that's where they. So if you don't like my price go elsewhere free interprise is great.

RE: Comming To Your Wallet Soon

Chances are the merchants will add more than the fee that they pay to the credit card companies. I hope their fee will at least be shown as a separate item so we will know what we are paying. The convenience of a credit card is enormous. What comes to mind is paying at the pump for gasoline. I would hate to have to have to go inside to pay. It could mean we have to get gasoline credit cards and it could mean that we have to get several different kinds. Remember when each department store had its credit card. We may have that again.
having a Mobil or Texaco or any other gas card will not help you...............as they have the SAME charge as MC or Visa.
i am retired from the Gasoline business and i can tell that i PAID the oil company's the same fee that the banks charge! Did this for 35 years with four different oil company's!!!:B

RE: owning a DP motorhome not all it's cracked up to be

:D . for me it will not matter whether it is diesel or gas, (i prefer gas) once you have your coach parked no-one cares what it is. my MH spends much more time sitting than it does rolling down the highway so who cares about the nice ride or the handling?
i bought an *Old* gas rig and i love it. most full timers with the big, new DP's have spent more on fuel than i have as a total investment.
every one has their own thing.!!!:B:B

RE: How do you calculate travel time?

I use www.mapquest.com for all my trips. So far they have all been done by car or light truck.
Hopefully soon I will have our first coach ready for long trips and it will be my first RV trip in July.
I like to know how you calculate your travel time.
If MapQuest say it is 570 miles from point A to point B and it will take 9.5 hours by car – how long should I figure for traveling in my first RV?
Thanks, Tony
I don't calculate my driving time, i just GO, and don't care about the clock. take my time and get there when i get there!!!!!!!

RE: coax to hdmi, pace arrow antenna switcher

The signal coming from your antenna and going through the "switcher box" is RF (radio frequency). Even though you are watching "digital TV" the signals acquired by the antenna are still RF; HDMI cable is used to send a digital signal between audio visual devices--it has nothing to do with the signal coming from the antenna. HDMI cables, for example, can go from a satellite receiver to a TV, but the cables from the satellite dish to the receiver are still coax.

RE: coax to hdmi, pace arrow antenna switcher

Upgraded my front tv. The reception is not that great. Wonder is there is an adapter from coax out of the switcher box to hdmi.

if you have a picture it should be more than acceptable. with HD you either have it or you don't.!!! if it is snowy then you have a problem somewhere!
good luck.:B

RE: Pressure Washers

The easiest way to cut the pressure on a PW is to increase the distance between the nozzle and the item being cleaned. If you increase the distance enough, you can easily water your flowers with a very fine mist without causing one petal to fall off.
BINGO....................we have a winner
that thinks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RE: Direct TV

I do the same as Peachesncream...I have my KingDome set to Slimline, per DTV's instructions, with a SD receiver in the living room and a DVR in the bedroom. The dish under the dome is neither a slimline nor an 18" dish. Rather, it's a half dish....DTV said to use Slimline and it works fine. When calling DTV always ask for the RV tech dept...they will give you the straight scoop...the others simply say HUH or DUH.....Dennis
i have learned with my Kingdome that it does not matter where the dish is set, i have used slimline and also 18" round with the same results. the biggest problem now is finding the correct sat, it may hit the 99, 101, or 103, 101 is the one that will give you the SD channels.
i took my Kindome off and now i just use a slimline dish and get all the chs including HD.
