RE: Amerilite trailers

We have a 2011 Ameri-Lite 23BW and no problems. We loved the floor plan, the size and the price.

RE: Don't judge by floorplans only especially with Ameri-lite.

We've had our Ameri-Lite going on 2 years. It was a step up from the pop-up. I agree it may not be a premium TT, but it works for the 2 of us. We bought ours based on the floor plan, size, and price.

Photographers - What DSLR do you have?

Any photographers?? I'm going to buy a DSLR and I've narrowed it down to a Nikon D5000 with the 18-55/55-200mm lens kit. I will be photographing landscapes, nature, my pets, camping trips. What DSLR are you using?

How to Winterize TT?

We have a 2011 Ameri-Lite 23BW and would like to winterize it myself. Last year took it to an RV place and paid $75. I know it can't be that hard. Can you tell me how to winterize a TT? Our hot water heater has an Annode Rod. Thank you

Ice Makers(Portable)

Who's got a portable ice maker and how do you like it? I'm wondering if one is worth buying, how much ice they make, which brand is better, how long it takes to make the ice, etc.... We keep our beverages in a cooler and for a weekend camping trip spend about $4 for ice.

RE: Breakfast Ideas

When we camp with friends we buy the can of cinnamon rolls and put them one at a time in a pie iron and cook oven the coals, not much as far as mess.

RE: Favorite Slow Cooker Recipes

wow, some great recipes here. Going camping next Thurs-Sun and going to take the crock pot and make some pulled chicken(bbq) and some potatoes. I'd like to find a recipe for apple crisp(one that uses flour instead of oats).

What's on the Menu this Camping Weekend?

We are stuck in a 'food' rut. We tend to have hot dogs and chicken are our staples, some friends we camp with are vegetarian, so sometimes this poses more menu planning. Next camp trip we're going to go some soup in the crock pot, something like chili or potato soup.

What are you towing your small TT with?

We have a Amerilite 23BW that we tow with a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500. 23 feet isn't exactly small maybe smaller but when we go camping our 23 footer looks small compared to the majority of the campers.

RE: Kayaks

Thanks for your response. Of course, the store that has alot of $$$ kayaks says you need the skeg on that size of kayak, plus its more $$ added to the kayak. I know someone who has a 14 footer with a skeg and likes it, but is always worried about not damaging it(I can't try her kayak cause its one of those narrow, ie for skinny people, lol). I saw a 13 foot Perception at Dicks Sporting Goods, without a skeg and its $200 less than the Necky. I'm sure theres probably a little difference in quality.

Kayaks

I have a question for you kayakers. I'm thinking about a new kayak, a Necky Manitou 14 with a Skeg. Any ya or nays on this Necky? I think with this length I should get it with a Skeg? Any advice or other recommendations? I've never had a kayak with a Skeg, any thoughts? Thank you

RE: Caulking - Tub/Shower

Sorry, no I was talking about on top of the tub, where it meets the walls. No, not around the bottom, where it meets the floor. Thanks

RE: Tonneau cover for TV

I have a Tonneau Pro and it folds up, clamps down. I've been very happy with it and just a little over $200.

Caulking - Tub/Shower

What type/kind of caulk should I use for the tub/shower? It looks like they just ran out of caulk around the tub/shower. We took longer showers today and we weren't completely level, so a little water leaked out into the hall. Thank you

RE: Post some of your favorite standby camp meals!

I've had corned beef hash from the work caferteria and it tastes great. I asked and they get it from Gordon's Food Service. They must 'doctor' it up a little.
