Major attraction discounts

I was wondering if Good Sam has looked at attracting more major attractions to offer a discount like they do for AAA? We have discount at the Orlando area attractions but that is pretty much it. Think towards things like aquariums, zoo's, museums in areas where there is a Good Sam campground(s) which would help enhance their business and give more value to them for their involvement with GS.

RE: Golf Car(t)s

What advantage does a gas golf cart have over an electric? Can they handle hills better? Do they have more power? Bruce My electric didn't have the power I wanted so to get a little more power, I bought a gas one. http://i.imgur.com/JJMSeb8l.jpg :B Looks like you got it from Tim "the toolman!!" More power!!! ARH ARH ARH!!! :B

RE: Fantasy Tours Albuquerque Balloon Fest

Fantasy is the "official" tour operator for several organizations including Good Sam so it is applicable to general RV.

RE: DC power only wrks from shore or gen on AND eng is running

One Thank You for coming back and stating what the final fix was, even though it could be embarrassing. Too many ask for help and then never come back to tell the solution to their specific failure. BTW from the number of responses with disconnect/salesman switch in them you should feel confident you are not the only one to have done this!

RE: Life lesson - In case you're not aware

For us when that has happened, usually because we sue a card or card we keep empty for travel and or emergencies, when we call in they reauthorize the card and we tell them where we will generally be traveling, states we will be going through, and for how long. No more issues for the rest of the trip.

RE: Country Coach Allure 2006 questions

RE: North or South Rim

There are more facilities on the south side and the south rim is open all year. Vegas is a long drive from the GC, if you don't want to camp in the park, south rim again, then either Williams or Flagstaff would be good choice. By the way they are about 60 miles from the village at the south rim. It is a looonnng drive to get from side to side, most decide which side they want to see and then commit. North rim is much less developed and that appeals to many people it is also at a higher elevation than south rim hence why it closes in winter.

RE: Pulling I-40

Grants Pass I found the winding road more of an issue than the grade! We just ran the 40 from Barstow to OKC a couple years back no problem with 36' gasser in signature.

RE: DC power only wrks from shore or gen on AND eng is running

One other possibility is most systems have a large fuse somewhere between the batteries and the inverter/charger check this since it is the one part that will be out of the circuit when shore power is applied, as far as supplying 12 volt, if it is blown your batteries won't charge either.

RE: What is this switch ?

Feds mandated it when we moved to electric pumps in tank and the higher pressures used with injectors. Be curious what they came up with instead as the pump can empty the 20 gal tank in the avg auto in about 1 minute if unrestricted.

RE: Mountains on I40 from New Mexico to Las Vegas

We have driven that section in a 30' class A with 460 and we have driven it in our 36' class A with V10 no problem with either. Worse case you won't go up at posted max speed, but you won't be able to get out and walk faster either! Enjoy the trip.

RE: With Grand Daughter in California

While no one has mentioned Universal yet that is because there isn't anything! Very non rv area. I believe the nearest place last was a trailer park in the San Fernando Valley around Van Nuys I believe. One that is not near but not bad outside commute hours is Dockweiler Beach near LAX sites on the beach and you get to watch the ships come and go from Long Beach and San Pedro Harbor. Quick run from there to Santa Monica and Malibu.

RE: Rincon Parkway

Where reservations are available already full on weekends through T-day! We haven't camped out there in years, Faria beach probably 20 years ago and that was with a group back when county campgrounds were $8 a night dry and 10-12 with electric and maybe water. We live close enough we use the coach out there for day use only.

RE: Class A with tag axle - beware of $1000. fine in AZ!

Here is the line of code from the AZ code causing all the bother. 17. "Light class motor vehicle" means a motor vehicle that uses use fuel on the highways in this state but excludes a road tractor, truck tractor, truck or passenger carrying vehicle having a declared gross vehicle weight of more than twenty-six thousand pounds or having more than two axles. It can be found here under chapter 16 > Taxes > definitions 28-5601 item 17. What it amounts too is RV were never taken into consideration and as such are included in the weight and axle requirement. So without an exclusion for RV's they would be included. At first it looked like this article of the law might have been included under the commercial common carrier code but no they started a new section for the Taxes.

RE: 2014 37M Winnebago Journey

Our lemon law in CA only applies to passenger vehicles, unfortunately in cases like this. I would expect though that Winnie would be more responsive if they make sure they are aware of your friends unhappiness! Sounds like a lot more than someone being picky either these are pretty big deal issues.

RE: Class A with tag axle - beware of $1000. fine in AZ!

Just toi add fuel to the fire, no pun, 28-5623. Civil penalty; use fuel purchaser; vendor refund; financial penalty prohibited; subsequent violations A. Notwithstanding any other law, if a person intentionally purchases use fuel for use in a use class motor vehicle that is not exempt pursuant to section 28-5432 from the weight fee prescribed in section 28-5433 and the person pays the use fuel tax rate for a light class motor vehicle, all of the following apply: 1. Except as provided in subsection B of this section, the person is subject to a civil penalty of one thousand dollars or ten dollars for each gallon of use fuel dispensed, whichever is greater, and shall pay to the department the difference between the amount of light class motor vehicle use fuel tax paid and the amount of the use class motor vehicle use fuel tax on the same number of gallons purchased. And the only exception I found was for a historical vehicle with AZ historical plates, that have lots of restrictions.
