RE: First trip and need new tires
All I could find besides the G614's were a very cheap no name brand so I figure ill play it safe on the Goodyears.
We went with them as well. Over 5k miles the first year and still look like new. I feel very confident with them. Funny thing is, when I pulled my tires/rims to take them to the shop to be swapped out I noticed something I found amazing. The G614's weighed a good deal more bare than my factory installed Towmax tires weighed still mounted on the rims! A lot more tire there...
RE: BlowMax Tires
85 psi is what they say to inflate to.
I also need to call Heartland and find out if the rims are rated to 110 psi, unless someone here who has one has already done the homework and can tell me.
I'd love to get 2-4 years of service out of them before biting the bullet for a set of GY 614s
If your Road Warrior came with the same rims mine did, they are stamped 110 PSI on the back. We upgraded to G614's as soon as we got the trailer. When you wait, you chance the damage being done before you get to it. What was funny is, when I pulled the tires and wheels off to get the the Goodyears swapped on, I found a funny thing. The Towmax tires still mounted on the rims weighed far less than the Goodyear tires did with no rims! A lot more tire there!
RE: Short Bed Dually
One other option is since you are getting a Cyclone anyway, consider the 300C. Cyclone 300C I have the sister unit, the Road Warrior 30C and a short bed Ford. The nose of the trailer is made specifically for a short bed and works as advertised....
RE: Anyone using a fifth airborne pin box?
Thanks for the responses, I am primarily interested in things that will allow my TH last longer with fewer difficulties. As a side benefit it looks like this will also give me a better ride so is a win all the way around. Probably going to get it from Tweety's unless someone knows of somewhere better to get it.
Happy Camping
Dan
Do an internet search and compare prices. Many less expensive than Tweety's
The best deal is always etrailer. Not because they are the cheapest out of the gate but because they do the 110$ guarantee. The way to do it is shop around. Find the best deal on the item you want on the net. Then order from etrailer. Once you order, send etrailer a link to the better price and they refund you 110% of the difference. Very easy. I got my Reese Elite 18K hitch that way and paid around $800.
As for air hitches themselves, I love my tri-glide. Has the airbag and an air shock for vertical dampening. It also has the three rollers for front to back dampening to stop chucking. Brought our new TH home on the solid Lippert 1621 and was pretty bummed about the experience. My neck was sore from the jarring tow. This hitch has all but eliminated it. Well worth the $ to me...
RE: Any creative ways to store you ladder?
It does push you over the max of 102" but I leave mine on all the time regardless and haven't had any issues...
RE: Bought a Cyclone 300C
The cab is the same. The fifth hitch is further back in the 8 foot bed. That's why a TI front end is designed for a short bed truck specifically. To allow the trailer to be close but not hit in a turn. The pin box has nothing to do with it. Also, no slider is needed with a short bed and this design...
Oh OK.....:R
Well why don't you come hook to mine and smash your window out then? Then you would have no choice agree with me.....
I have the identical trailer. There is no smashing of anything. This front end was designed specifically for short bed trucks. Period. Sure you can tow it with a long bed, but its completely unnecessary.

RE: Bought a Cyclone 300C
They are designed to be towed by a shortpecker without a slider and be able to turn 88*. I suppose on really uneven ground, it could contact the roof.....I only have 5" bed clearance and no issues yet.
That brings up another question. Will it work OK with a longbed?
Well, I have been pulling mine with a long bed since that's all I own.......
I also removed that stupid frame flexing extended pin box they install on everything today so people can tow them with wannabe trucks:E I replaced it with a 9" shorter MorRyde box.
I did find pics of a long-bed towing the 300C, looks better to me because the trailer barley goes over the cab.
You do realize the whole point of this front end design is so that it goes over the cab of a short bed truck? This is to improve the turning radius, the aerodynamics, and the looks....
RE: Do you use your generator?
Both breakers are in the same phase so there is no way to get 220 out of an Onan 5500. It is 110 only no matter how you wire it.
RE: Do you use your generator?
I ordered one in ours for two reasons. First is the occasional use while camping. Second, I've wired our house and trailer so that I can use my 50 amp cord to feed our house in the event of a power outage. Yes, our Onan 5500 is only 110 volt, but it will run everything but our oven and central ac. Gave it a good test this spring with the furnace running, most of the lights and TV on, and the well pump running. Genset worked flawlessly running our house. So, we got a two for one....
RE: Bought a Cyclone 300C
I'm sure you'll get it dialed in. Great looking setup. We have the sister unit to it, the Road Warrior 30C and are EXTREMELY happy with it. Fit and finish have been top notch and after 2500 miles of camping this year, the only thing bad from the factory has been our water pump which is currently being swapped under warranty. Here's ours the day we got it home this spring. Lucky for me, no airbags needed with my TV so it tows like a champ right out of the box.

RE: Request review of Cyclone a/o Raptor toy haulers
I can see why everyone loves you. You know what they say.... When everyone else seems crazy, it's probably you.
I feel loved. Thank you.
But seriously, do you read your posts? Opinions were asked here and because YOU are a big Heartland fan, then that's it, period. I said earlier, Heartland has had many compliments from people but its not all perfect. I've had a terrible experience with them until just recently. If all that gets reported are the "wonderful" things, then it wouldn't be a very good opportunity for the OP to make a sound decision.
I still have no problem with your love for Heartland. And again, I think its great they've done you well. But when you make a comment like you did earlier comparing MRXLH to someone talking out their a..., you come across as an arrogant a... who thinks he's right and everyone else are just idiots.
I'm through responding to this anymore. If it goes on, it will just get the thread locked. To the OP, good luck with your decision process. Try to ignore "taken" and me. :)
Whatever helps you sleep at night. MRXLH made a statement that had nothing to do with reality and I called him on it. You have one of the VERY few negative experiences with a great company and I called you on that. I also stated what a horrible time I had with Keystone, made numerous points about Thor's ownership and that the companies still remained independent etc., but you chose to ignore all of that and focus on that fact that I said someone was speaking without having a real direct comparison which I do. I'm a big Heartland fan because of how I am treated by them and how well their product is built. So in the end, no, I don't think other's opinions make them idiots. Just yours and MRXLH's.
RE: Request review of Cyclone a/o Raptor toy haulers
.... I agree completely! MRXLH's comment about Keystone and Heartland customer service is clearly made by someone who has not had experience with both. IE: talking out their a...
This is what I was referring to. We all have our opinions.
Well, if he owned two new units back to back less than a year apart and has a real apples to apples comparison to share, I'll retract my statement. Otherwise, it stands. I, on the other hand have. Have you? Anyone can say, yes, I've had a new one of these or those. I happen to have bought both within 11 months of each other. Both new, special order trailers and within months of each other. So, I have a pretty good comparison. Also, I can't imagine having a hard time dealing with Heartland. I get such quick replies that one time I even heard back from my regional manager at 6 AM 2 minutes after I emailed him as he was in an airport in FL after the RV show and had a few minutes to kill before his flight. Now that's service. With Keystone, I could never get past the receptionist on the phone and had no ones direct email or number. Heartland also has a great forum where you can talk directly with the factory. http://www.heartlandowners.org/forum.php Many who work for Heartland take the time to post there and answer owners directly. If you have that much dealing with a company that is that accessible, maybe it's not them that's hard to deal with.....
RE: Request review of Cyclone a/o Raptor toy haulers
We bought the 3612 Cyclone after looking at several toyhaulers brands. We're really happy with it.
Both are owned by Thor, which means that the business model is about the same.
I worried about this after the purchase, but it seems to be a non-issue so far.
I hear a bunch of people brag about Heartland and Forest River's customer service, I have news for you, it isn't any better than Keystone's.
I totally disagree. I had a Keystone Laredo before this Cyclone that I've posted issues with on here before. I was ultimately left holding the bag on it. I will never own another Keystone product again, nor will I recommend it to any of my friends either. My issues were just totally mismanaged by the company. My small issues with the Cyclone on the other hand, have gone flawlessly. They've been very resonable to deal with.
I'm sure the Raptors are a nice product, but I'll never own one even if it's the last toyhaulers built...
I agree completely! MRXLH's comment about Keystone and Heartland customer service is clearly made by someone who has not had experience with both. IE: talking out their a.. I owned a 2011 Keystone High Country before my current Road Warrior. (Sister to Cyclone.) Awful fit and finish, ton's of issues, and zero ability to get in touch with anyone of substance in customer service. With my Road Warrior, I've had very few issues and I have the personal email and phone number of my regional manager who seems to be able to get anything done in an instant. Even if we are traveling somewhere! So, while Keystone and Heartland are both owned by Thor, their business models are COMPLETELY different. Thor also owns Redwood and Airstream. Would you say Airstream and Keystone are in the same league in quality or customer service? I think not. Go test drive a Cadillac then a Chevy Sonic. See if your dealership experience is the same. Same parent company. Slightly different "feel." Bottom line, in my experience, Heartland has a very well built product with great people behind it. Keystone does not...
RE: Level Up, 6 point RV leveling system.
Any body get any estimates on the system installed?
Mark
Lippert quoted me $3800 using my existing hydraulic front landing gear if done at their facility and told me it would take one day. If ever I'm in their neck of the woods I'll have them do it...
