RE: Toilet for Park Trailer

I would think you need to change it out or else you will be filling up your black tank pretty quick.

RE: Need your thoughts on an odd leak

Could it be water blowing in around the vent flap itself? Those are generally not all THAT tight a seal so with rain blowing laterally it could penetrate the flap. Your SINK will also have a vent and if the sink if not against the wall like mine, the vent is usually through the wall closest to the sink. this COULD also be the source of a leak under the right conditions. It could be inside the flap...but the flap is closed. Not a perfect seal but i wouldnt think enough water would come in that did end up int he camper. But when i pulled the vent cover up it sure didnt look like any water had been in there for how dirty it was. I think i have an interior vent on the sink? With a one way valve under the counter. From where the water was and how it ran down the wall right behind the hood i think it has to be either the range hood/microwave vent or the roof just above that. I guess I'll know with the next good rain.

Need your thoughts on an odd leak

I have an 06 Amerilite that i bought last year. I got a seasonal site for this summer trying to cut fuel expense. So we were down to the camper last Friday night and it stormed and had pretty torential rains for a good half hour. A real good side ways blowing hard rain. The next morning i notice a little puddle on the floor below the sink. So, i pull the drawers out and looking for a water leak. Dry everything up (really not too much water) and im searching the pex connections and everything looking for a leak. I run water multiple times watching for anything to leak. Nothing. Im racking my brain trying to find the leak. My outside shower is right on the other side of the sink as is the low point drains so there are several connections. Nothing seems to be leaking. So i let it go for the time being. Then i get into the cabinet under my range top (no oven, just cook top) and the base of that storage cabinet has a decent size puddle in it. I think, ok, where is this coming from. I start searching witha flash light. I see one drop of water drip down the wall from behind the range hood. The wall paper is a little crinkled from previous water i would say. So i figure it may be the caulking outside around the vent cover. I look at it and it is still adhered to the camper well, but seperated from the plastic cover a little. I unscrew the cover and it really doesnt look like any water had made its way in there. But i cleaned it well with some alcohol and put a nice new bead of sealer on there. Has anyone else had a leak there? Is it possible thats what was leaking or could it be my roof behind the gutter and its just running down inside behind the range hood?

RE: Smokers???

I've taken by Weber Smokey Mountain smoker a few times, but a smaller one would be better while camping. The WSM is quite BIG and a bit expensive, but great for smoking large turkeys, ribs, etc. A small inexpensive Brinkman from WalMart should work nicely. Just be considerate of neighbors as they can blow smoke in undesired areas. We'll normally use our WSM at the beach where there is a lot of open space. The smaller 18.5 version of the WSM is pretty easy to take along and store. I have both...
