RE: no power inside my 1994 Fleetwood Tioga class C

Do you have a volt meter or a 12v test light? Check for voltage at the battery and follow the wiring to see where you loose the voltage. Sure sounds like the polarity is reversed, but maybe a fuse, circuit breaker, or a corroded connection.

RE: Help nme decided please

All other things being equal, I would go with the newer. Be sure you check for signs of water damage, bulging sides, etc. Lack of a front facing window on the cabover would be nice too.

RE: Converter Output

A newer RV will more than likely have a 3 stage converter which won't "boil" your batteries unless its faulty. In my MH, the converter will only supply power to the batteries when the disconnect switch is on. YMMV
X2
The converter still supplies power to the electrical panel with the disconnect switch set to disconnect.

RE: I'd love to have this Good Sam benefit someday

Jeff, thanks for the explanation. I agree, I think it would be a great thing for RVers who would like to have good WIFI on the road but spend a limited time RVing and don't need it at home for whatever reason.
It seems it could be a money maker for Good Sam too.

RE: I'd love to have this Good Sam benefit someday

Although I don't know what MVNO stands for, I agree with Jeffcarp.
I use the MH about 60 days a year, entirely in the summer time. I'll go on several week long trips and a couple of 3-4 week trips, maybe longer. MIFI that I could turn on and off without penalty would be great.
Jeff, thanks for the suggestion.

RE: tanks

It depends on the manufacturer, model and chassis. There are so many variables. Anything is possible but it may be impractical.

RE: Kitchen faucet

Replaced mine years ago. It did require some adapters to make the plumbing fit.

Just Jeff
Are you buying the door assy from the manufacturer, or have you found another source?

RE: Truck or SUV recommendations

My first RV was a 21' TT that I towed with an F150. I found it was not enough truck, the semis were passing me on the hills. I did go to Alaska with it though so it did work.

RE: HELP! What does this NEWB need?!

I didn't see it mentioned above, maybe I just missed it. You may need some way to level the RV. I use wooden blocks. If yours is a TT, I would use 2 by whatever is wide enough to support the tires and long enough to go under both wheels. Probably 2 would be enough. Motorhomes need more.
Sewer chemicals are questionable, I would only use them if you need them.
If you go to a dealer for advice just remember his job is to sell you whatever he can.

RE: Class C coach battery and Generator

Do you have a battery disconnect switch and if so, is it set right?

RE: Trying to find our Battery disconnect Switch.

My battery disconnect switch is down by the door. It is a rocker switch, press the top to connect the battery, bottom to disconnect it. Since I don't have a Jamboree, yours may or may not be the same.
When you say the lights work do you mean the coach lights? Usually if the battery disconnect switch is set to disconnect the coach lights will not work.
You did install the batteries with the right polarity???

RE: Soldering wires to 1156 base to adapt led panel

When I started switching to LEDs I found BA15S bases, I can't remember where, but they were $0.50 each and $5.00 shipping. I figured it was cheaper and quicker to rework the old 1141 bulbs, that I would never use anyway, than buy 6 bases for the 6 LEDs that I needed bases for. The next time I bought LEDs they were available with BA15S bases.

I just found your thread. I followed OldTrucker's and now can follow yours. Looks like you made good progress, anxious to see how you transform it into a useable motorhome. Keep up the good work.

RE: Highways Magazine

Still waiting for a reply on his this affects life members. So if I don't subscribe to Trailer Life I can still get Highways delivered electronically? Or do I have to be a subscriber to MH or Trailer Life?
Mike Siemens answered this question at 11:05am.
Edit: Mike, guess I started this before you posted your answer. You beat me to it. :)

Enjoy your new MH. Sounds like you will be "personalizing" it. That's half the fun of having an RV.

RE: Highways Magazine

You are receiving the four issues that the Highway's content is published in for free. How much more fair can they be?
I'd read the entire terms and conditions of your Good Sam membership before I'd go and accuse anyone of breaching a contract. Chances are pretty good that they have every right to do this.
My problem is when I signed up as a life member the Highways magazine was part of the deal. If I understand you correctly, you are giving me four issues of another magazine but only one time? The way I see it, I am paid up for life for four issues of the Highways magazine, so you owe me four free issues per year of Trailer Life as it's replacement.
Sure you can say that the insert in Trailer Life or Motorhome is the Highway's magazine replacement, but what if me or anyone else doesn't subscribe to these publications? We then won't receive Highway's magazine and you have in fact reneged on a contract.
You are not only getting the content of Highways, without all the adds, you are also getting 4 issues of either Motorhome or Trailer Life each year.
