wine tour rally important info: spring barrel pass holders....please insure you bring a wine glass to the tastings. most of the wineries are requiring pass holders to bring one in for the tastings or else there will be a tasting fee.

RE: tc wine tour, prosser wa. 4/23-26 2015

AT THIS TIME THERE ARE NO EXTRA SITES SET ASIDE FOR THIS RALLY. when I called the resort today they had a total of 6 rv sites left in the whole park. if you waited to join it would be wise to call immediately. this is a very busy weekend event for the area. we have 13 rigs signed up for the rally. it will be a great time for all!

RE: tc wine tour, prosser wa. 4/23-26 2015

follow up information... no wineries are starting the spring barrel festivities until friday morning. however, almost all of the wineries are open on sunday as well, so you have 3 days worth to get your spring barrel on. wineries will be open on thursday, just no spring barrel activities on that day. the wineries on the passport list without icons... i called AIRFIELD ESTATES: free tasting with passport. they will have music and a food truck. they also will have a IPA beer if you want a wine break. KESTREL VINTNERS: free tasting with other things they are planning on right now. ?CHINOOK WINES: this is a small winery and visiting is by appointment. they are sending me a postcard invention as of today. they have a very small tasting room but if there are several of us going we can always taste wines outside. weather permitting of course. no matter what, i will be getting an invention for us. thursday is when everyone is coming in for the rally. my plan is to try the horse heaven hills brewery during the day. along with pretty much a relaxation day at the resort. joanne and i would like to head to zillah on friday then on saturday do the wine tasting in prosser. as mentioned, if anyone wishes to follow along with us, that is great. other plans will be made on the fly. i hope that answers some questions.

RE: tc wine tour, prosser wa. 4/23-26 2015

for those that have bought the spring barrel passport: be sure to look at the link ill post at the end. not all the wineries are participating in the passport, keep that in mind. some are participating but still charging a tasting fee while others are not. there are icons on the list letting you know. some also are accepting the passport on friday, saturday and sunday but not thursday. some dont have an icon and i will be calling and asking. ill also be checking to see if some will accept the passport on thursday. i will post here so you all know. there are a few in prosser and a bunch in ZILLAH that are on the list. zillah is just a short 29 miles away on either the interstate or side roads. joanne and i would like to check out some of the wineries there in zillah too. there are also big discounts on wines for the passport holders at most of the wineries. so be sure to check the website for more detailed information. i will be starting to plan out a route id like to take to some of the wineries. of course ALL are welcome to join us on the excursion. we can go as a group or individually. it is a weekend of friendship and relaxation, so it will be up to you as to how you wish to spend the time during the day for tasting. JUST 28 MORE DAYS! passport link info: passport info

RE: tc wine tour, prosser wa. 4/23-26 2015

i was sent an email asking a couple questions about the rally. this rally is still on and i am excited about it. once the wine association for the area updates the information on the spring barrel tasting package ill be sure to post it. there still are plenty of sites available for this event that i reserved. I have 6 sites left at this time. i can not speak for availability of more sites if the ones i reserved fill up. this spring barrel event in town is a big deal and popular with attendees. weather during that time in prosser averages 66 degrees for a high with low of 41 degrees. this rally is the end of april so it will most likely be nearer to the 70 degree range. the region is a dry area too. remember, we have a meeting room to gather to get out of the weather if we wish. i hope to see you there.

RE: NW Gathering, June 5-7, 2015, Richland WA

depending on the date i am still interested. im hosting a rally in prosser in april for wine spring barrel tasting so for me i will have to watch to see what date is decided if that location is selected. there are some things id like to do in that area...like geocaching.

RE: truck camper fall colors caravan oct 10-12 2014 winthrop wa.

still time to join in on this rally/caravan. the weather looks good for the crossing over the cascades on the cascades highway. awesome views on a clear day. 10 rigs are signed up for this event. smaller than previous years but it will still be a great time.

RE: NW Gathering, June 5-7, 2015, Richland WA

TC Life, we are going to see if we have enough interest before we try to secure a site. At one time we have 40 rigs show up early on after starting with just a few and then it tapered off. If we can get 10 rigs or so that are interested then I will check with a couple of parks. I lean towards CLe Elum Whispering Pines as its centrally located to the state but if all the people are from the NW side of the mountains then we will look at a couple of other options. There is a very nice little campground in Raymond also that I have used for gatherings and its much cheaper than Whispering Pines. okay, cle elum is doable for me before a big trip to a rally in july. if it was more west then probably not. those funds and time thing. ill see what happens and maybe can attend. thanks!

I know id like to attend a rally im not hosting and have to be responsible for. lol. I have another rally to attend so not sure if I could go, depends on location for me. ill be watching...not in the creepy crazy guy kind of way though.

truck camper fall colors caravan oct 10-12 2014 winthrop wa.

Here are the plans for the 9th Annual Fall Colors Caravan across the beautiful North Cascades Highway (aka Hwy 20) in Washington State. This is a 3 night caravan - October 10th, 11th & 12th. Just like last year, we are staying at Silverline Resort in Winthrop for TWO nights. The itinerary is: Depart Friday, October 10th @ 5 PM sharp! Hwy 530 is open for travel through the Oso area so the caravan will be departing from the Haggen (apparently now closed) store in Arlington that Friday night. coordinates are: N48.178808 W122.130035 for the meeting place. First night is at Sauk Campground near Concrete, then departing Saturday morning to cross the North Cascades Highway and Winthrop. The fires burning in the Methow Valley were posted as 100% contained today and the air is clear! Of course, fire season runs until mid-October so no telling what will occur between now and then. Depart Saturday, October 11th @ 9 AM for Winthrop via Hwy 20. Planned stops: Diablo Lake Overlook, Washington Pass (downhill side if pull out area open to accommodate caravan), and Hwy 20 pull out between Mazama & Winthrop. Restrooms are available at Diablo Lake if needed. After the last stop between Mazama & Winthrop, caravaners are free to stop in Winthrop to explore and shop or continue on to Silverline. If you plan on stopping, RV parking is available in the Red Barn lot on your right as you enter town. For those who are joining for the first time, Silverline Resort is located on Pearrygin Lake just outside of Winthrop. Address for Silverline Resort is 677 Bear Creek Rd, Winthrop, WA (48.494781, -120.165652). Please contact Silverline to make your site reservation. Their phone number is 509-996-2448. Then will also accept reservations through their website @ silverline We currently have the following sites allocated to the truck camper rally - 16, 15A, 14A, 14, 13A, 13, 12A, 12, 11, 10, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 49, 50, 51, 52, 53. A map of the resort is found on the resort website. Please let them know you are with the truck camper group. It is also modern firearms deer season opener that weekend so make your reservation early! Saturday night will be the annual AWESOME potluck dinner at 6 pm. Bring a dish to share and your appetite! The theme for this year's potluck is Thanksgiving to celebrate our Canadian friends Thanksgiving holiday. Don’t forget to post on this thread what you are bringing and the list will be updated as information comes in. After dinner are the prize drawings immediately followed by the much anticipated roaring campfire and side-splitting tall tales (which get taller as the evening progresses). Breakfast will be served on Sunday morning. George has something other than biscuits and gravy he is planning. A group photo will be taken shortly thereafter and then you have the rest of the day to relax around the campground or explore more of what the beautiful Methow Valley has to offer. (If you need suggestions, let us know since this is our home area.) No formal activities are planned for Sunday except for breakfast and the group photo. Checkout is Monday morning before noon at your discretion. You are on your own from there sign up form: link
