When we used them in our remote news vans, we left the plug and socket on them. We would wire a male plug on the end of the romex (trailer outlets) and mount an outlet to plug this unit in.
If you take the cover off, there are 4 screw holes you can use to fasten it to the floor of the trailer. We also remoted the control switch, so the inverter could be kept out of the way with the house battery.

Love it. I drove from Pittsburgh to Hershey getting around 10 mpg. Drive back was about 8 mpg

I get 12-13 mpg on the highway unloaded.
I have the crew cab short bed.
