RE: Repair/Maintenance of roof seams

EternaBond sells cleaner for use with the tape, but I hear acetone works quite well also.

RE: Adco Designer Series Advice

The biggest problem with the smaller size will getting it on the trailer. If you found it to be too tight, you could leave the bumper and spare tire out in the elements and just cover the box.
I had the same circumstances and went with their recommendation of going with the larger size. Seeing how it fits, if and when I replace i think i will try the smaller size and leave the bumper and spare out if it doen't fit.

RE: Is obtaining the TT tonuge weight the most important weight?

Weigh 1 - Truck Only
Ft Axle - 3460 GAW 3750
Rr Axle - 2960 GAW 3850
Total Weight - 6420 GVWR - 7200
Weigh 2 - Truck/Trailer No WD
Ft Axle - 3100
Rr Axle - 4160
Trailer - 4980
Weigh 3 - Truck/Trailer w/WD
Ft Axle - 3460
Rr Axle - 3640
Trailer - 5140
Total Trailer Weight - 5820
Tonque Weight - 840 or 14.4%
Total Weight for Rig - 12240 - GCWR - 15100
Payload Capacity for truck - 1501
Please let me know if I have this figured correctly and your thoughts.Terry, thanks for the numbers. Everything looks great, and I agree with your tongue weight and trailer weight calculations.
You are 2860# under GCWR and 1200# under the trailer's GVWR. But, you are only about 200# under the rear GAWR and 100# under TT GVWR.
This is just one more example of where the tongue weight, and not the trailer's GVWR, controls what you can tow.
Ron
Thanks Ron, This was a maxed out weigh, everthing we might possibly take for an extended stay. We normally take less now since we know what the actual weights are.

RE: Is obtaining the TT tonuge weight the most important weight?

Terry, was that 9 weighs at the scale? You pay per weigh, right?
No, only three weighs, a CAT scale has a set of three scales, front axle on one, rear axle on second and the trailer axles on the third. It cost about $10.00 for the three weighs..

I weighed my rig a couple of months after purchasing it.---I'm always on the lookout for scales data.
Can you post your weights?

RE: Is obtaining the TT tonuge weight the most important weight?

I weighed my rig a couple of months after purchasing it. It is no harder than hitching and unhitching at home or at a camp ground. While i was there, I was the only one using the scale, there were no trucks waiting to use it and i inconvienced no one. It was very worthwhile and told me alot about my setup. I was probably at the scale less than 20 minutes total. Only cost about $10.00 for the 3 weighs. Well worth the time and effort in my book.

RE: F150 Trailer Brake Controller Issues

Everything is all taken care of. Took it back to the dealer that programmed it for me. They had it for about 15 minutes and done. It ended up being a poor connection in the wiring harness on the truck side. They used a light tester to see where the breakdown was and tracked it into the wiring harness. So... they secured everything and I was on my way. Amazing how good it feels to have brakes.
Are talking about the connections at the light cable receptacle???

RE: F150 Trailer Brake Controller Issues

Update. I went over to the local camping world and they hooked my truck up to a test box for lights and brakes. All lights had power but the brake did not have power when using the brake pedal. But... when I used the manual brake on the TBC, it worked just fine. Now what???
I wouldn't hang my hat on the test box. My TT dealer can't check Ford integrated systems with his test box. Best bet is let Ford put their tester on it.

Ours stay open all the time, may close them to a crack while running AC when really hot.
