On Long Island, they follow the same procedure.

Be careful if you go to America Choice Rv in Ocala, FL

I was returning home from a 2 month stay in Florida and we stopped to see some friends who live in Ocala. I wanted to get the chassis on my Class A greased because it had not been done for a while. I had received an email from America Choice RV and when I saw that the email stated 'Your One Stop Shop for RV Service and Repair' and 'No job to big or to small' and that they had heavy duty lifts and that they were in Ocala, I called and made an appointment. When I arrived, I waited about 15 minutes while the service manager (I think that is what he was) finished talking with another customer. I explained what I wanted and he told the girl at the desk to write it up. She turned to me and said that it would be $135 plus tax. I questioned her and the service manager as to why so expensive. I told them that I had paid half that amount at Freightliner in Gaffney and a local truck tire store for the same service. I again questioned as to why so much just to just grease the chassis, he said that they had to purchase the grease separately (don't know what that has to do with anything). If I hadn't spent a total of a half hour waiting and made a special trip, I would have walked away. The total job, including putting the coach on the lift and greasing the chassis took less than 30 minutes. Even at $130/hour labor, the entire job should have only cost $70 at most which is what I had previously paid. Sorry for the long post but I though that everyone should be cautious if you stop there for routine service. Make sure you check their pricing first.

RE: Storing with hydraulics jacks up or down?

I store my coach with the jacks up but I put 4x4's under the feet of the jacks so that when the air bags lose air and the coach settles, it settles on the 4x4's and it keeps the pressure off the tires and suspension.

RE: Buying DEF in diesel lanes at Pilot/Flying J

Dutchmen, Both fluids do NOT come out of the same hose. There is a hose for the diesel and as separate hose in a different compartment for the DEF. So far I haven't had any issues with pulling through the pumps opposite to the normal traffic flow. I wait until there is a lane open and then get diesel and DEF this way I do not have the hassle of handling large jugs of DEF and trying to get to my DEF tank.

Windows 8.1 question

I have a fairly new Dell Inpsiron laptop (maybe 9 months old) with Windows 8.1 installed. For those of you who have 8.1 installed, do you know how to stop the clock on the bottom left and the menu along the right hand edge from appearing all the time? It seems that when I am surfing the web and move the cursor, these items appear even though I am no where near the area (upper right hand corner) that would make these appear. I can't seem to find anywhere where I could adjust the sensitivity to prevent this from happening so often. As an FYI, the laptop also has a touch screen. Thanks

Tire Pressure Monitor system 507 TPMS

Does any one have a 507 TPMS with the flow through sensors? I am looking to replace the Pressure Pro system I have because the batteries on the sensors are not user replaceable and it does not measure the tire temperature. I can purchase a new, 6 sensor system for around $265. For those who have the 507 system with the flow through sensors- 1. how do you like the system? 2. about how long do the batteries last and are replacement batteries easy to find? 3. any pros or cons with the system? Thanks.

RE: visual monitoring via wifi

BJ's has a 2 pack of Lorex cameras. Very easy set up and they can take a 32gb micro sd card that you can record to. The 2 pack was around $180 after $50 off. Just set mine up about a week ago and so far, very pleased. They don't pan or zoom but they have a thermometer built in that shows the temperature of the room. Also, there are no monthly charges. http://www.bjs.com/lorex-wireless-security-system-with-hd-night-vision-720p-cameras-2-pk.product.273636?dimId=

RE: Residential Refrigerator

Thanks to all who replied. My coach will be sitting for jut a little over 2 months before we use it again so I will probably shut it down.

Residential Refrigerator

I have a residential refrigerator in my coach and was wondering if I should shut it off completely for the winter or just leave it running. The coach is parked on my driveway and is plugged in 24/7. Thanks

RE: Waterless washing of rv

I just purchased and used this product http://www.amazon.com/Fw1-Cleaning-Waterless-Wash-Carnauba/dp/B009UZ1TE2/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1414017530&sr=8-5&keywords=waterless+car+wash+and+wax Seems to work very well. I also use it on the front Diamond shield and it really removes and makes removing any bugs very easy. It is a little pricey but when you spray it on and use a microfiber cloth, it seems to have a lubricant in it which makes it prevent any scratching and go on easy. JMHO

RE: DEF addative

I use roughly 1 gal of DEF every 400 miles or so and buy it at flying J. They have pumps and charge about $2.75/gal. My DEF tank holds 13 gallons.

RE: Instrument Panel Light bar acting up

The fix to my problem was drying everything and replacing one bad relay. Your problem will be very hard to find until it malfunctions again. Fred Thanks for the encouraging news Fred! (LOL!) Called FL help desk and they weren't much help (LOL!). Seems they won't do anything until the problem is more frequent. Not happy about that. It would seem to me that there should be some type diagnostics that could be run to diagnose the problem. But then again, I'm not an engineer so what do I know! (LOL!!!) Tom

Instrument Panel Light bar acting up

Drove from Long Island to Syracuse (5 hour trip) to visit my son on Friday and the everything functioned perfectly. Went out Monday morning to start the coach and turned the key on. The startup check off screen (raise jacks, lower antenna, etc) came up and it immediately started flickering (sort of like how a bad florescent bulb flickers) and making a funny buzzing type noise. Also, none of the gauges worked. Turned the key off and back on and the same situation. I left the key on and after a minute or so, it went back to normal. Started up and drove for 5 hours with 2 stops and starts without a problem. Anyone else experience anything like this? If so, did you have it repaired and what was the fix? Thanks

Billy, You should also check the Forest River Forums (forestriverforums.com) and see if anyone else has experienced this issue and if so, what the resolution was.

FW1 Waterless wash/wax

Has anyone used this waterless wash/wax or any type of waterless wash/wax? I was in BJ's and you got 3 cans for the price of one so I decided to take advantage of that special. They say you can use it on everything - including the windows. Just wondering if anyone has used any type of waterless was/wax product and what did you think about it. Thanks __________________
