RE: Walmart I10 Gulfport refund coming

I'm serious, I really want to know why. For those of you who think "I" shouldn't be allowed to do these thing, I honestly ask why?
I have never stayed at a WM either, but I would care if your behaviour caused WM to alter their policy allowing staying in their parking lots.

RE: What's your " OH man did I mess up"

Forgot to remove my homemade wheel chocks once before pulling out. The center rods were bent into a nice smooth arc...

RE: Sofa to Dresser Upgrade

Consider this idea stolen. The furnace is below the sofa in ours, but we still have half of the space to work with. Thanks.

RE: Decisions, decisions, decisions...

All anyone can do is give you there experiences, so here is mine. We still have the TT in my signature. We started out pulling it with a new 2007 F150 with a towing package. The truck pulled the weight fine, but it always seemed to be a bit of a struggle on hills, and the mileage under tow was in the 8-9 mpg range. Traded the F150 in on a used 2006 F250 diesel a couple years later, and the ease of towing is immediately noticable. Big rigs passing us no longer push us off the road, and the mileage improved to 13-14 mpg. We are happy with the upgrade. As for the rest of your questions, I am not sure that it is possible to justify RVing from a strict financial perspective. We are not using the TT enough to do so. We purchased for the memories that we are making. I'll leave it to someone that has owned TT's and 5'ers to discuss the pros and cons of each. However, I have been studying rear living 5'ers for a possible future upgrade.
Good luck in whatever you decide.

RE: Suggested Mfg

Thanks for the replys everyone. Let me clarify a few points. As of right now, cost is not a factor. If I lose my job tomorrow, it will be. When I said aluminum siding, I probably should have said not fiberglass. Truthfully, I have not given Airstream much thought, but I will go see what their floorplans are.
Thanks again.

Suggested Mfg

DW and I have started a long term process to find a new TT to be purchased in the next couple of years. We have found that we really like the layout of rear kitchen models, but so many that we have looked at have "extras" that we don't need or want to pay for. For example, we don't need solid surface counter tops, glass inserts in cabinet doors, or fancy trim. We are looking for a QUALITY no-frills trailer with aluminum siding. Who makes them?

RE: 2013 Passport 2300BH observations/limitations

* There is a good 2" gap at the top of the bathroom door, apparently to allow it to clear the ceiling mounted light fixture in front of it. Even with a vent in the bathroom I can foresee odors traveling into the living area.
In our trailer, when the fan in the bathroom is turned on, odors do not get around the door back into the trailer. There is a noticible breeze created by the air being pulled in under the door.

RE: Here we go again!

We pull our '04 Jayco Jayflight 27BH with a 2006 Ford F250 Powerstroke crew cab. We average around 60 mph and 13 mpg. The truck is also my DD, and I average 16 mpg on my 15 mile, 33 stop-light daily commute.

RE: Top Things I have Learned in 6 Years of Camping

Please add your own:
Wives always pack 1000 lbs of junk that you will never use.
unless, of course, you ride with a friend on Sunday who forgets to pack his wheel bearings!!!

RE: Update for buying a motor home from Camping World

I made no disparaging remarks toward or about you. I would appreciate if you do the same. This is a public forum and we are all entitled to our opinions. :B
As someone that works in the business world daily I don't feel your situation is unique. Paperwork gets lost, people go on vacation, after that person works through the stack of papers on their desk and gets to yours; guess what, now they have to get approval from their supervisor who is now on vacation, someone doesn't return a phone call, things just plain happen.
How long should one patiently wait for lost paperwork to be found or for the phone call be made? I also believe that the OP did the correct thing in posting about their experience with CW. And then the CW CEO did the right thing by taking care of it.

RE: Dumping Tanks - Drain Hose & Using Clear 90 Degree Flange

I purchased a couple of plastic tubs with snap on covers at Walmart. In one, I store those type of fittings and an extension sewer hose. In the other, I store the fresh water hoses. The containers keep the sewer implements from contaminating anything or the fresh water hoses from being contaminated.
I also use tubs, but I have a third one for the assorted electrical items that I have picked up. Works well for me.

RE: Are my expectations unreasonable?

I would print out your orignal post and hand it to the owner/general manager and let him/her know what has transpired. Give him/her a chance to make it good. If they don't, you are no worse off.

I would say that your hitch saved you damage to your bumper. That being said, I remove mine because I cannot take the pain of wounded shins.

I had the same symptoms. The fuse looked good, but testing showed it to be bad. New fuse and now all is good.

RE: I need help

I just had problems with the left turn signal on our trailer. Turned out that the pin in the truck's connector was pushed towards the center, thereby failing to make good contact with the trailers connector. Bent it back into place and all was good. Good luck.

RE: Tell me about the Jayco 26 bh

We have a 2004 27BH and it has been a great trailer. We have slept as many as 6 and will soon leave for Gulf Shore with 5. It does get cramped at times, but I prefer sitting under the awning anyway. Good luck with whatever you decide.
