Taylor Park Reservoir, Colorado

We are driving a 36 foot gasser and pulling a small Toyota. We are currently camped at the Lake View Campground at Taylor Park Reservoir. We came in on county road 742 (23 miles from Almont). We followed a flagger over this difficult, uneven dirt road for eight miles to get here. We almost got stuck once. Since then it has rained. I am concerned about the trip out in two days. Does anyone know of another route, possibly going east to Buena Vista? If so, is the road paved? Can a 36 foot gasser handle the road? I appreciate any help. Thanks.

RE: Torrey, UT campgrounds

Just left Thousand Lakes after a week's stay. Good location, nice people. There is even a hair salon on site, and boy did I need a haircut! There are also 4-wheel drive vehicles for rent, a Jeep and Kia. We rented the Jeep one day and had the time of our lives driving the back country. Capital Reef is beautiful! Had two great meals: Slacker's for burgers and fries, and Capital Reef Inn & Cafe for delicious rainbow trout. Enjoy your stay!
