RE: cash grab by Crown Villa Resort

Every body has an opinion about dogs, kids, old people, young people, politics religion, nationality. most of which need to be ignored. My wife for some reason has started calling me grumpy stump which may be better than idiot but I am not sure

RE: whit lithium grease

For a very aggressive corrosion site like boat springs in salt water use I will paint them with 30 weight motor oil twice a year. Hypiod 90 gear oil will not evaporate very quickly either

whit lithium grease

Lubricants for an rv are continuously required for awnings, stairs, antennas, door locks, hinges, jacks etc. I keep a can of white lithium grease available as it does a fine job on moving parts and is easy to apply. While doing an under body inspection its a great rust preventative on sites that appear to be active. Could not do without it

RE: Washing Black streeks/dirt

I tried the rv black streak remover stuff and it was pretty weak. The used a good quality vehicle wash wax and it did a fine job of removing the streaks and other dirt

RE: Campfires...good in moderation

A of acetone is very similar in size and look to a can of liter fluid and was mistakenly used to start a cold charcoal fire. The resultant rapid ignition caused enough over pressure to scatter the charcoal

RE: Class A in this campground is to big with toad...

Generally I would accept the request to disconnect first, as a requirement, maybe even a campground rule that should be followed as a requirement to stay. The driver is imposing his risk taking on the owners of the parked cars, satellite dishes and is open to corrective comment

RE: no discounts for oregonians with disabilities

Politicians love to hand out benefits to deserving groups but have no ability to define the cutoff between deserving and undeserving. They will carefully avoid participation and leave it to the medical profession and Federal bureaucrats (ss, vets etc) whose objective is to award something to the individual to show case progress. As a result, we see 10 times the number of disabled vets as there are purple hearts. We get annoyed in the grocery checkout by deserving food stampers that buy only brand name, gourmet or poorly nutritious sweets.
Perhaps Oregon does it right by not setting up a recreational benefit for deserving groups.
Wife is a polio paralytic that did not qualify for Social Security disability because she was unable to work for the minimum number of quarters required by the law. She contracted the disease at age 3 months.

RE: Can a quadriplegic driver handle braking-Class A gas/Class C

Ditto the above post, My DW is para 100% right and 70% left and drives a car just fine. The motor home is a larger job and I find it just a whole lot simpler if I do the driving. Out west where its many miles between lane changes she will occasionally drive the MH with toad to gather some practice useful in an emergency. We also limit the days on road time to 5 hours or less which is suitable for this retired driver

RE: Towing S-10 4WD

The comment about Driveline not recommending the remco because the s-10 has constant velocity joints...... I had to go to Wikipedia to understand what a constant velocity joint is and I would agree that its use would prevent the use of a remco disconnect because of the thrust movement along the shaft that a constant velocity joint would have.
I do have the standard universal joints on my 2 piece S-10 drive shaft. I have seen what is called constant velocity joints on a Yamaha 4 wheeler big bear

RE: Should you travel with a full tank of Gas?

I really dislike motoring in and out of gas stations towing my toad. By using the 3/8 to full range I can cut in half the number of times I need to pull in to gas up, as opposed to 3/8 to 5/8 range

RE: Towing S-10 4WD

Peaches, you might check again with the drive shaft disconnect supplier. I installed one 3 years ago on a 2001 s-10 4cyc, auto with the two piece drive shaft. Works pretty good but not for offroad. A rock hit would kill it

RE: asy 2 Ingredients Pineapple Angel Food Cake

First time we tried it in a flat pan it worked great. Trying to improve and take maximum use of the fluffiness the next time it went into an angle food baking pan and it resulted in a flat hard donut.

RE: F53 22,000 chassis factory anti-sway bar

The rear sway bar, passenger side on my 2011 f53 chassis came loose twice when traveling at about 6000 miles and again at 13000 miles. It was noticed during my daily inspection prior to departure. The first time it was fixed by the RV dealership that sold me the unit. The second time I went to a ford truck dealership in Cheyenne wy who prescribed the wrong bolt again based upon ford technical documentation. Problem was the rear bolt hole for the tie down strap bottomed out if a front bolt hole bolt was used. The rear bolt had to be 1/2 inch shorter to properly seat the bolt. Easy mixup not documented.

RE: Midwest weather report? Snowbirds

94 degrees and blowing in Kingsville Tx yesterday. You snow birds that have left skipped out before the heat. Th drought will be very bad this year. Farmers have planted zip/nothin for hundreds of square miles. Lake Corpus Christi is already down to 19 % of capacity. Pray for a hurricane, that will be the only source of rain till august. The late spring makes a hurricane low probability due to cooler water temperatures

RE: Drive Shaft Disconnect

I have had the remco disconnect on an s 10 for 3 years and about 15000 miles. It is a workable solution....That said make sure your installer understands how the item should work. The push knob should take only enough pressure to move, to keep the disconnect in place. If you have to grip it, its binding and will break the wire and wear out the nylon pads on the collar. Also note the position in front of the rear end. The disconnect is not protected from the center road ridge on dirt roads and will be exposed to damage. I do not use the remco equipped truck for off asphalt roading
