RE: Camping World Indianapolis

For the record....do not ever take your rig to the Camping World in Greenwood IN for service!!!! We have spent the last three weeks waiting for them to come back with an estimate for the repairs on our RV that was damaged in an accident. During a three way call this morning with us, Camping World & the insurance claims person, Camping World claimed that they are two months behind on doing oil changes (what that has to do with getting an estimate back to insurance I have no clue!). But seriously....if you have to wait two months just to get an oil change, why would anyone do business with them? I think they're lying through their teeth personally.
I see your new to this site. wish you could have read some of my previous posts about that particular location. looks like things still have not improved even after reporting it to Marcus.
yes---this location "SUCKS". I'll never use them again.
there is another RV place in Greenwood or try Mt. Comfort Rv in Greenfield by the Indy KOA on I-70.
GOOD LUCK

we may be interested also in coming along. we don't know any of you personally but if that isn't a problem, we'll see if they still have spots available. DW loves quilts--has made a few.
we just came back from one if these throw-together outings in Missouri where no-one knew each other & it turned out super great.
BTW-oldrailroader--- come on along----this could be fun. we are probably the furthest away, southern indiana along ohio river.

RE: Sand Hill campground near Whitley City, KY???

although my information is a couple years old, i think this is a more of a rustic campground--my info says no water, electric, sewer or showers. why don't you stay at BLUE HERON campground which is in Big South Fork National Recreation area which is near STEARNS, KY. & only 1/2 hour or less from Whitley City? it has paved sites that are level, 30amp electric, water hook-ups, showers & a dump station. your Van will have no problems on road in but use Caution with a trailer, some places windy & steep but i get my 35' motorhome & car there easily. CG should be open in April but you should check. more information at RESERVE AMERICA web site.
BTW-- what motel in Whitley City has the bad reviews, there is a Holiday Inn Express there----is this the one your referring to??

RE: Need Opinions Please!!!

here's another CW with a "very poorly run service dept.".
Greenwood, Indiana--- i'm not going to make a long story out of it but 10 weeks there, they broke numerous things & asked me to pay for it,one part i needed was from Power Gear which i called personally because CW said they were having a problem getting it. Power Gear gave me 4 distributers in Elkhart with the part. now, Elkhart to Greenwood (indianapolis area) is about a 3-4 hour drive but took around 10 days to have it repaired. i did file a complaint with Marcus Lemonis & did get a small refund but this service dept. "SUCKS"

RE: 2003 Dolphin LX 36' lost 110 power, need help

... I reset the inverter or converter GFI receptable, not sure which one, in the outside compartment and that usually does it. Just look for the GFI receptable in the compartment and reset the receptable, this might take care of your problem, it usually works for me. Good luck.
GOT IT!!!
Was a breaker in the outside converter breaker panel. This MH will allow operation of the microwave from the batteries without 110 power so guess that is why it is there.
hoorah!!! glad you found it.
BTW--if your slide-out rooms fail to work, there is a round selnoid for each room. tap on it lightly with a screwdriver handle (or similar object). mine sticks occasionally & this frees-it up again.

RE: 2003 Dolphin LX 36' lost 110 power, need help

Chief, check all of your outlets throughout the MH and see if you can find another GFCI one in the bathroom or somewhere. You might also plug a lamp or something into the microwave receptacle just to make sure it doesn't have power. If the GFCI button under the cabinet will not stay in you may have a short or defective GFCI. Otherwise, you almost have to have a breaker popped somewhere or a loose connection at the power distribution panel. Sometimes a breaker looks like it hasn'y popped when it has. Turn them off and back on to make sure one didn't pop.
Have checked all other plugs that I can find. Will take the panel back off the cabinet tomorrow to try the plug on the microwave again.
What has me puzzeled is the 110 plug under the cabinet. It has a gfci breaker but APPEARS to only break that one circuit. I took it out and it has 110 to it but no forwarding wires to any other places. Would this be normal to have a gfci breaker for one plug only?
We had the microwave cooking and an electric heater pluged in the above gfci plug. Both are not working now.
Ron
since i also have a National RV i'll give it a try. have you checked the main circuit breaker box? mine is down at floor level & has 6 breakers in it. one for each air cond. 20 amp for microwave & 3 for different plug outlets. are you on campground power or generator?
there are 2 fuse switches on my Generac--check them if using generator.
if my antique memory is working, this may be a long shot, but possibably there may be a fuse in the 120/12 amp convertor box down in storage bay. usually a small RED lite will glow if a certain fuse has blown. i know when my power gear jacks wouldn't work, a fuse had blown.
good luck

RE: Lake Cumberland Recommendations

I live on Lake Cumberland in Somerset, Ky and there is no reason to be concerned about boating on the water here. Thousands of folks come from all over the northeast every year as well as Tenn and as far as Alabama to recreate/fish/jet ski/rent house boats or whatever you choose to do is available with no concerns. General Burnside Island is on the lake and has RV sites you can check online. There is a new rv park a couple of minutes from the lake on Slate Branch Road near Hwy US 27, a 6 lane highway through the lake area. Conley Bottom is an excellent facility with decent rv sites while Dale Hollow is a great spot too with excellent rv camping and it has a great 18 hole top rated golf course as does General Burnside Island State Park. I play there every week and can recommend it highly.
noe-place---why would you even recommend General Burnside campground?
we both know it's getting very run down. I only sometimes stay in it out of necessity. swimming pool has been closed for many years.
boat ramp still open, Burnside Marina ramp is closed do to low water levels. lake has been down 40+ feet for years because of problems with Wolf Creek Dam. main lake water still OK but some tributaries are dry. as for Dale Hollow--campground is OK i guess, just wasn't laid-out as well as it could have been. Conley Bottom is best choice.
BTW Kentucky seems to spend money on golf courses---not campgrounds. :h:h

RE: Lake Cumberland Recommendations

I'll 2nd Conley Bottom as it is about only place directly on the lake with all hookups your looking for. there are only a few others that are Near the lake with all hookups you want. try C B first--i think water level there is still OK.

RE: winter drive to Yellowstone

haven't been there in January but was there in March. drove from Indiana on i-80 to i-29 to i-90. was delayed twice in S. Dakota for snowstorms, 1 a couple of hours---1 a whole day. only road into park is the North entrance thru Gardiner.closest campground open was in Bozeman, Montana (KOA)---90 miles away from North park entrance.
Mammoth cg in park was open then but No hookups. have plenty of food, water, gas & LP if you go--may spend time parked on interstate if they close the road gates, places to stay are scarce. inside park, road will probably be open only to Old Faithful. they kept 1 building open to stay warm in, still do i think.
see if this website will open for you
www.jacksonholenet.com/webcams/
checkout the LIVE cam of Old Faithful---sometimes people viewing it going off---other times Buffalo walking around.
BTW-it was very cold in park---below 0 & strong winds. we enjoyed it once but won't do it again. BBBrrrrr!!!!

RE: Great Smoky Mt. National Park

if your not crazy yet you will be if you arrive on a Friday.
Kentucky Joe has some good info. try to arrive on Sunday & leave on Monday thru Thursday. just came back on late September even before the changing of leaf colors. arrived on Thursday & vehicles on roadway comming in Friday were backed-up 7/8 miles, all the way back to Sevierville. this is normal about every weekend. get a map & learn the backroads---this will help calm your nerves!!!

RE: Indiana state parks

We have been looking for some other camping oppurtunities which lead us to looking at some of the IN state parks. I like their website because its alot like KY state parks where you can click on the site and see a picture of the site itself. On numerous sites I would click on in the remarks section it says "tipouts/slideouts not allowed. My question is WHY? The sites were huge. One was 60 something feet long and 48 feet wide. No trees were close to the pad that would hinder slide operation. Is this something that is strictly enforced? Im guessing so or it wouldnt be on the site.
The two I looked at in particular were Versailles and Cliffty Falls
no it isn't enforced. don't know why website has this info on it. most sites are very large. I use both parks all the time. if you go to Versailles, BE SURE to use campground "B", all sites are larger than A. Clifty Falls should be OK at most sites. I am aware of only a couple where trees could be a problem. my total length is 53' probably about same as yours.
