RE: Add-a-Room - where can I get one?

Camping word, ebay, local TT dealer. Most say easy 15 min set up, but I'm thinkin a little more than that. Do you have a manual or power awning? Some power awnings mite not be able to support the extra weight without support poles.
It is a manual roll-up awning. It's a small TT. Low to the ground. I haven't measured yet, but most say minimum of 92 inches heights. Not sure if we have that.
15 mins isn't too bad. Any more than that and I wouldn't even set it up probably lol. I'll look at camping world. Thanks. Local dealer would be a rip-off for sure. Us Canadians get ripped off a lot.

Add-a-Room - where can I get one?

Hi all,
I am looking at getting an add-a-room for my TT. Can someone please point me in the right direction? I did a google search and couldn't find anything really.
Is set-up a pain in the butt? How much do they cost?
Thanks.

RE: 2004 Zeppelin Z301 - good or bad?

Ok. I guess I will be patient and look elsewhere. I am just having a problem finding what I want. There are none in my area at all.

2004 Zeppelin Z301 - good or bad?

Ok, so I am potentially going to be upgraded from a small hybrid to a larger TT. I don't really want to go over 28ish feet but I'm having a hard time finding what I want in one smaller. (bunks, slides, etc)
Anyway, I have one in my area on kijiji that looks decent. It is lightweight, and has everything we want. (except it is 31 feet)
Before everyone tells me to do a search - I already did. I also went to the keystone forum, but couldn't find much.
From the little that I have found the 2004 Zeppelin 301 had lots of problems, including leaks and other issues, but I want to hear some other opinions/thoughts. Here is the link.
http://thunderbay.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-RVs-campers-trailers-travel-trailers-campers-Zeppelin-301-Lightweight-Trailer-W0QQAdIdZ430476208
Even IF we decided to buy this one, we still have the issue of towing. I have a 2012 Ram 1500 3.92 Crew Cab - Payload 1500ish, Max Tow 10000ish - so I want to be sure it would be a comfortable tow as well. TT is about 6500 GVWR.
Anyway, please let me know your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

RE: Help me find the right TT

Tagging onto your question Vesh, we have a 26'TT and are looking to go to a 23'.
We want a double axle, but were told because of their short wheel base, they were
bumpier on the road. any comments?
I don't notice a bumpy ride on my single axle currently, but I haven't towed anything different, so I have nothing to compare to. I want a double axle, as a single axle scares me due to blow-out potential.

RE: Help me find the right TT

Being in Canada then "Kijiji" online classifieds is your friend.
Ernie
Of course I have checked kijiji thoroughly. I am in Thunder Bay and there hasn't been any with the specs I said for at least 2 months.
I have also checked Winnipeg as it is the closest big city. I have found a few, but still it is slim slim pickings.

RE: Help me find the right TT

I traded my '06 Flagstaff 26BHSS (Rockwood twin)in this past summer, has everything you list. Queen walk around bed up front, 2 single bunks in back and a huge super slide (kitchen and sofa). If I recall it was 4500lbs dry. Was still sitting on the dealers lot in Ottawa the last I looked. They gave me $10k sight unseen on trade in.
I don't know how to multi-quote so I'm gonna have to post 2 or 3 separate answers. Sorry guys.
This sounds absolutely perfect.. only problem is that I live in Thunder Bay, ON. lol... no way I'm going that far for one. But this is good news, as I know they are out there.

Help me find the right TT

Hi all
I currently have a small hybrid TT, and we are looking to upgrade if it works out. We are trying to sell our hybrid, and we are getting lots of interest. I want to be prepared in case it sells, but I am having a pretty difficult time in finding a TT that suits what we want.
Here is basically what I am looking for.
I am looking for a used TT (2002-2008ish?), between $ 8-13k. I realize based on the specs I want it will need to be a few years old. That's fine. I am in Canada, but have considered bringing one in from that states if it is worth it. But that's another issue.
Specs
- 25-28 ft
- dry weight around 5000, with GVWR under 7500
- at least one slide
- bunks - 2 is fine
- A/C
That's basically it for specs... but it's been surprisingly hard to find a TT in that length that has bunks. Please point me in the right direction. Thanks everyone.

RE: Ram 1500 crew cab tow capacity????

getting some conflicting stories from dealers as to the trailer towing capacity for a 2010 or 2011 dodge Ram 1500 crew cab.
does anyone have this veh and know what the trailer towing capacity would be with the hemi engine. and if not, any sites where we can get the right answer before buying one and finding out the capacity is not that much?
thanks
Depends on gear ratio. I have 2012 1500 with 3.92 and it is rated for 10000. Payload is only 1455 though. Probably same, or similar for 2010's and 2011's. Too lazy to check, but here is the link. Just click on previous year's models.

RE: tow vehicle future

My guess is that vehicles that are coming out now may hold their value, as new vehicles will have to comply with the new standards. Which makes me very happy to have purchased a new vehicle recently.

RE: WDH question

Yes I only use GVWR. I won't be buying anything over 7500 GVWR. I'm hoping to keep it around 6500 GVWR and 26 feet length.

RE: WDH question

I know there is a sticky, but I find it easier to just ask for a specific situation. Thanks in advance.
I am thinking about selling my small hybrid, and upgrading to a bigger TT. Right now my WDH has bars that are rated for 600 lbs. My current TT has GVWR of only 3200ish.
Anyway, my question is, if I go to a TT with a GVWR of 6500-7500, will this WD system work still?
Most would agree that you need upgraded bars. Not knowing your tow vehicle I also agree. However, there are exceptions. For example if you tow with a one ton truck you might not want much if any WD, just sway control/mitigation. A couple years ago Airstream magazine had an excellent article on tongue damage from weight distribution bars that were too stout for the application and suggested the stouter the truck, the less bars might be needed. After all, how much weight and where do you plan to restribute it when using a one ton or even a three quarter ton truck especially towing a relatively light trailer? Ideal weight distribution is about 25 percent of tongue weight back to the trailer axles and the remainder on the tow vehicle. Your hitch manufacturer can help you select the correct bars if you let them know your trailer and tow vehicle.
TV is 2012 Ram 1500 Hemi, 3.92. Payload 1455. Lol, so not a 1 ton.
So basically I should prob sell this setup, and then look for something with 1200 bars?

RE: WDH question

You will probably need WD bars with a weight capacity of 1000lbs. Depending on the brand of hitch you have now, you most likely will be able to just purchase 1000lb bars and still use your existing hitch head, shank, and snap-up brackets. I would not use the 600lb bars with the new trailer.
Barney
Ok. Thanks. I think everything else is weighted for 10k, but I would have to check to be sure. The reason I'm asking is because someone is looking at our small TT today, and if they need a WDH, I will sell it too if I don't need it anymore.

RE: Need help on a price

Well john, your response was useless. If I knew the price of TTs I wouldn't be asking. I don't know what's fair, so next time you respond make it useful.
Thanks popup, seems like you think it is reasonable. I will check it out thoroughly when I go see it though. Other thoughts?
This is the age of information.
If you want to find what "fair" prices are, do a google search for the make and model and see what they are selling for.
In addition, go to NADA.com & look up the make, year, and model. That will give you a ball park price.
Sweet. Thank-you. Never heard of Nada. Thanks all, I will check that site now.

Need help on a price

Hi, I posted this over in Towing section as well, but I have gotten enough feedback to say that I can tow this safely. Now I am wondering if everyone can give me feedback on the price. I am going to look at it tomorrow, and if it is in good shape, I need a ballpark for price I should be aiming for.
It is listed at $8000 CDN. Fair? too high? What are your thoughts?
Thanks.
