RE: dual pane windows & weight

We bought our '06 Cameo with dual pane windows. Weight not a major concern and they do add to insulation and sound deadening. Elimination of condensation on the window glass is a BIG plus. However, our experience is that they don't age well. Three of our windows have lost the seal between the dual panes. That results in a cloudy build-up between the panes that can't be eliminated without either full replacement or utilizing a specialty repair facility that can cut the seal, clean the inside and reseal prior to reinstallation. Either way is very expensive per window. Don't think I would go with the dual panes again. Might be OK if you trade up every 4 or 5 years but if you plan to keep your RV for 10 years or so, these things will come back to bite you down the road.

RE: New Orleans

We just spent 4 days at the French Quarter RV park earlier this month. Was on the expensive side at $75/night with Good Sam discount but the park is so closely situated to the French Qtr, historical graveyards, etc. that we felt it offered good value for the money. The park is very clean and well maintained. It is close to I10 so you hear some traffic noise and lots of sirens but that didn't keep us from sleeping. It's close to a group of subsidized housing projects so I didn't feel real safe walking back to the park from the French Qtr after dark. If it was really late at night (anytime after 10:00 p.m.) I would recommend taking a cab back to the park. There is a large police station just a block away from the park entrance so I'm sure that adds some security to the neighbourhood. This is not a reflection on the park but the streets in the old French Qtr just reek of urine. This city needs to provide better restroom facilities or improve their street/sidewalk cleaning system.

How To Replace Roof Vent Cover?

One of the roof vent covers on my 5th wheel has disintegrated due to sun damage. It's a Ventline cover I think. Bought a new one at Camping World but I can't figure out how to install it correctly. I bent the tabs back on the old cover so it would slide off the hinge but can't figure out how to disconnect the crank mechanism. It's obvious that there is a larger cutout section where the mechanism will disconnect from the cover but how do I get it to slide down to that spot? The screen on the inside of the vent prevents me from getting at any screws/fasteners on the crank mechanism. How much disassembly of the vent assembly is required to get at this? Bet someone else has been there before and figured this out.....

RE: Ipod Touch - Need Help!

It is assuming it is a secure network. Change the settings to open and you should be good to go. Not sure how to do this. When I go into settings, I can't find anywhere to change it. My WiFi signal strength is strong (right beside a tower) and both of my laptops access the system without any password. I have tried using my Itunes password but it doesn't work. I have also accessed a neighbours Wifi using their password on their system and the Ipod works fine there - but they are too far away to use regularly.

Ipod Touch - Need Help!

I just bought a new Ipod Touch (the latest one) but I can't get the WiFi to work on the campground WiFi system where I'm staying. This WiFi system is unsecured and does NOT have a password. My Ipod insists on me entering a password before it will give me access to the WiFi network - but there is no password to enter. Does anyone know of a way to get around this requirement on the Ipod? I can't find a way around this on the online user manual at Apple.com so am hoping someone knows how to get around it????

US 82 from Montgomery to Tifton

We're planning to take US 82 from Montgomery AL to Tifton GA early next week. Has anyone travelled this section of the highway lately? Just wondering if I'm likely to run into any construction, detours, low bridges, etc. Also, are there any "must see" attractions we should stop in at along this route? Thanks for any info you can provide1
