RE: Camping pet peeve

My pet peeve is now that I have time from work to go camping, there is not a campsite I want to go to within 5 hours drive that's not book for the next "who knows when". Some of you people need to stay home so I can go camping too!!! LOL!!

RE: New slant on Walmart camping.

Uh oh, a few bad cases of drunken rver's in WM parking lots will eventually get everyone banned from overnighting there.

RE: Which do u prefer?

To answer your question directly, I blow out lines and add RV antifreeze to all the traps and black and gray tank. We don't have extended periods of really cold weather in NE Texas, though.

RE: Memorial Day dissapointment

The presence or absence of a colored piece of cloth has no bearing on how patriotic a person is or how they pay tribute to people who served. I led an infantry company for a year in combat 1967-68 and prefer not to advertize that fact. I will never forget the men I did not bring back alive. Totally agree and thank you for your service..........and all others who served!

RE: Patio Mat Anchors?

Long nails with fender washers. They work great and are easy to tap into ground and remove. Use small nylon zip tie to keep nail on washer when not in use. Steve Hmmm, the OP was asking about keeping the mat on concrete. Don't think that's a good option.

RE: rv shows

I almost made a purchase at the Dallas show, but realized they were trying to pull some shenanigans on me so I walked. I am so glad I did. Wound up getting the same trailer almost $2000 cheaper at a dealer a couple of hours away. The dealer at the show told me I was getting special show pricing and incentives that I would not get anywhere else.........yeah, right. My experience was not good at the show, but I enjoyed looking at all the different brands and floor plans. Your experience may differ.

RE: Taking advantage of the stupid!

Me, myself and I own my home. Me, myself and I own all my vehicles and that's how it will be from now on. I'm not in a partnership with any financial institution for them. Can't stand payments!

RE: Ashdown AR Millwood lake

There is camping available at Bard Springs, but it is very small. I agree about Albert Pike. Such a beautiful place and it's ashamed it may never open again. One of my favorite places. Maybe they should install early flood warning systems and reopen. Build a monument to all those that perished.

RE: Ashdown AR Millwood lake

Don't much about Millwood. Friends have stayed here and said it was nice. I don't think the campground has ever opened back up at Albert Pike since the big flood that killed about 21 people and Bard Springs is very remote and would be a treacherous drive pulling an RV. Besides, it is very small and mostly for tents/hikers. Shady Lake is very near Bard Springs and has RV sites. It's a very nice small campground in the area and would not be too difficult to get to. You would have to drive about 3 miles of gravel road to get to Shady Lake.

RE: Golf???

Ha! Those days will never end. I have played golf for years and I have to say I must be the most consistently inconsistent player out there. Stick one by the flag to missing the green, bogey after a birdie, round of 74 followed by a round of 88. LOL

RE: I'm a retired salesman

I have had some RV and automobile sales people attempt to pull some really slimey tactics on me while trying to negotiate a deal. I am not the most astute person in the world , but I figured out pretty quick what was going on they lost my business. I am not naive enough to think all sales people are liars, but they are definitely out there. My most recent purchase of an RV was from a dealer 2 hours from me because they were the closest one with the model we wanted. I must say I have never had a more pleasurable buying experience and the folks there were top notch. They made us seem like old friends from the get go.

RE: Boy, do I feel dumb...

................or did they lie? No doubt!!! I think this is typical in the RV/car sales industry. I don't know how some of these folks can sleep at night.

RE: Our beloved dog (Sammie) suddenly died yesterday

Sammie's a beauty. I can imagine whispering secrets into those soft little ears. Oh, how hard to lose them. How old is Heidi? Heidi may be around 5 yo. We didn't get her as a pup. She's a beauty also and wants to play ball daily. She tosses a rubber ball to me over and over day in, day out. LOL

RE: Harbor Frt Cordless Drill or Impact

I use a Craftsman 19.2 volt on a low torque setting. Not sure why some posters say you need lots of torque. You DO NOT need lots of torque for stabilizer jacks. If you torque them too much, you will mess up your frame. They should only be snugged up a bit which does not take very much torque to a accomplish.
