After looking and going to RV shows for several months. Makeing countless offers at AVERAGE NADA and getting rejected ,we finally bought a Motor Home from Giant RV threw their Internet salesman Gunter. He was a breath of fresh air compared to most salesman we meet over last 4 months.
I bought an 04 Brave 30w with 9000 miles. 8.1/alison and paid 41 grand. I know it seams like a high price to pay for an 04, but it was a fair deal to us.
I alread looked it over and gave Giant a very short list of repairs as the previous owner took excelent care of the Motorhome.
I have 9 rental homes and 35 plus years in SO CA dealing with tenants and manage/repair/maintain them myself.
At one time 4 years ago people just decided to quit paying. They could move into a house that was being forclosed on and pay nothing for a year or more and then recieve cash pay out to move from the bank that ended up with the property. I ended up with 4 of my nine places not paying and I had to file for evictions on all of them. Needless to say Lawyers fees/damage to homes/repairs and several months of lost income used up about 60,000 in saveings. If I have had a house payments on my rental homes in a market at the time where you couldnt sell anything, I would have lost everything.
If I was going for a year I would use a Management company also.
Its been years since I was on the RV.net site as I sold the DP four years ago but have the urge to get back into traveling.
Iam very close to buying this Motorhome (05 Monarch 33) and would like opinions from folks that have knowlege of this motorhome.
Its on a F53 chassis, 228in wheel base, alum sidewalls and roof, 2 roof airs,50amp,5500 onan generator, the usual extras and looks new only 9000 miles. My concerns are:
Alum sidewall/roof VS fiberglass sidewalls?
no dual pane windows?
orginal tires (sidewalls have no cracks)
purchase price 39000...
