RE: Wiring Help

Run the three-wire electrical cable to the junction box dropping it to the switch. Drop two-wire cable from one switch to the power source. Make the wire connections at the fixture junction box. Ground the switches to the fixture box. Connect the red wires together. Connect the black wire from the first switch to the white wire of the second switch and wrap a piece of electrical tape around the white wire to indicate it is hot. Connect the first switch wires. Connect the power supply black wire to the terminal labeled "common" on the switch. Attach the black and red wires to the other terminals. Connect the white wire from the power supply to the white wire from the light fixture. Connect the second switch wires. Attach the red and white wires to the non-common terminals. Wrap a piece of black electrical tape around the white wire to indicate it is hot. Connect the black wire to the common terminal. Complete the connections by attaching the black and white wires

RE: frozen pipes

how cold is it out?? did it freeze IN the trailer or is it frozen outside trailer? disconnect water supply line from trailer and if it will get to 35 today it will thaw out by itself, and inside turn the heat up and open all doors to underside

RE: Open range TV cable routing

I cant help with the specifics of your 5er, but all u would need for satellite box is to hook u box and wire one hookup and if no signal hook up the other feed line until one or the other feed line works

RE: Hauling Full Fifth Wheel

As others have stated, that's a lot of miles in a short period of time...As also asked, we don't have enough info...What 5er do you have? What is it's GVW rating....What do the tires look like? What truck are you towing this with...IF you overload the tires, or axles on the 5er, you may be looking for a place for an accident to happen....I'd want to make sure I had the right truck, that the tires on the 5er are in good shape and that I haven't overloaded the 5er, which means, you might want to take it across some CAT scales to see what you've got it loaded to..Overloading the truck your towing it with or overloading the 5er either one, or both could prove to be unsafe to say the least....Need some more information to help us try to help you. What difference does his make of 5er matter, just wants to know if ok to haul full,GVW rating so what, u dont know how much stuff he has anyway, What about the truck, what is the "right" truck.Yeah I know, the one that is matched to the load...so it does not have to be a diesel dually. Yes it's ok to tow as lived in, just stow anything so it doesnt have very far to fall, and fall it will. Empty ALL tanks that have water in the them, to make light as possible. 800 miles a day is cake, 4am to 8pm, still leaves time to eat a meal at night and fuel up for next day and get bunk time,I like to drive early, once your in the seat and have a destination, some munchies and things, time just rolls by,

RE: Parking on concrete?

If you read anything about tires it is recommend to put something between the tires and what ever they are touching. Even if you don't feel this is needed it is an easy thing to do. chevman So I put wood between the tires and concrete, what do I put between the tires and the wood????:@

RE: New to the site, camping and pulling a 5th wheel

Greg, to put it simply: You do not have enough truck to try towing a 30ft. 5'er. Your going to tear the guts out of your motor and transmission pulling a 30ft., not to mention you will be lucky if you get 5mpg on fuel. And to be quite blunt, in a downhill situation your Nissan does not have enough ass to be able to stop your rig in a safe and timely manner if it becomes necessary. I recently bought a Nash 21-5R with an empty weight of 3800 lbs. A 5th wheel this size and weight is better suited to your V8 Nissan. For your own safety, either downsize your 5th wheel rig or plan on getting a 3/4 or 1 ton truck! Good luck to you. DBTex, you/we/ME have no idea what his trailer weighs, has not been mentioned,I have a 3/4 ton Ford diesel, is this enough truck for you to tow his trailer? Actually his truck has more HP and torque than my diesel, my truck weighs 7100 lbs, dont forget the trailer has brakes to stop it also, so his truck is not doing all the braking. I was told by MANY my 38ft trailer was too heavy for my f250, no one knew the weight,11800lbs, ready to go camp, and ALL my weights are within specs

RE: Near Miss While Setting Up

On gravel surfaces, I dont use blocks to level, I dig a hole about 1" or whatever i need to lower the one side of trailer to make it leveland chock the other side of trailer and that will help stop the trailer from moving forward/back, and if on a hard surface, it is "usually" a even flat spot so not much leveling is required and by the time the rear level jacks and front legs and chocks are in place u get no for/aft movement

RE: New to the site, camping and pulling a 5th wheel

Get a real truck to tow it with and you will be much happier. You can pull it with what you have but you really need a 3/4 ton truck and even better if its a diesel. You just cant compare the difference. I dont understand WHY he REALLY NEEDS a 3/4 ton truck, better if diesel, If Greg would provide a empty FAW/RAW and then a loaded FAW/RAW I think a lot of people would be surprised this truck is more than capable of handling this load. We all should state he NEEDS a dually to handle this load,as this is usually what comse out of these questions about towing with anything that is a smaller truck

RE: HOT !!!!

2nd idea, even try a de-humiderfer, get the moister out of the trailer and it will feel cooler, get the humidity down to 30-35 % and it will feel comfortableDoesn't AC work as a de-humidifier? No, the A/C will only cool the air that is in the house,(area) wherever, does not remove the humid air, only cools what is there, and believe me, NE WI we live on the bay of Green Bay, we get humidity, our 90 with humidity is like 105

RE: HOT !!!!

If u want, u can by a room to room A/C unit, and it can be ducted out through the sliding window, just turn the vent sideways, nothing hanging outside to make the trailerhood look trashy
