RE: Blue Ox Tow Bar Problem

I'm sure that if you look closely at the Blueox warranty, they state they will repair or replace a defective unit at their discretion, which is the normal practice. That is exactly what they did when I had a problem with my Apollo brake unit.
Maybe CW will take a return on the new unit you bought from them if is shows no wear. I believe that's the only chance you have to get a refund.

RE: Non HD sat dish with a HD TV?

You can do it, and here's one way 18"dish/HD-DVRs.
I did it this way for two reasons; 1)I wanted to keep all inputs (ANT/CBL/DVD/SAT) going to both TVs w/o running any new coax to the BR, 2)I wanted to use both tuners on the DTV DVRs simultaneously.
Since all I can see with an 18" dish is SAT101, I don't get any DTV HD channels, but I do get HD with ANT and DVD inputs.

RE: Gasser ride comfort

I've found that staying off I-80 westbound between Truckee and Sacramento has smoothed out my ride quite a bit.

RE: PD 9200 Series Converter Question

It's designed to be left on all the time. But, if you decide to turn it off, make sure all the batts are isolated (disconnected) when it is off. Even if you think you have everything in the coach turned off, you don't and it drain the batts when the converter is not on.

Trouble shooting guide for PD9xxx series converters PD TS Guide. My read; with good input AC, if the no-load output is not within the 13.6V specs, you have a defective converter.

RE: Windows XP users.. question

I run SP3, and there are several security fixes that have come out against it. So, I think SP2 would not be safe unless you don't access the internet. My move would be to pick up a PC that will handle a newer OS.

RE: Flooring Replacement

Removed all the carpet from LR and laminate from the kitchen and replaced it all with some new subflooring and Allure vinyl stick together planks from HD. My LR slide rides on teflon runners so I use "Slide Slickers" that I modified to protect the vinyl from scratches. Now going on the fourth year w/o any issues with the new flooring. We really like it since all rugs now stay where we put them.

RE: My 2004 National Dolphin, Workhorse W-22

Don't know if I'd be pulling the cooling system apart unless I saw some hose damage. I believe Chevy recommends first cooling system service at 100K miles.

RE: Chevy vs. Ford

Like others said, go with the coach layout that the DW likes. Either engine is OK, but be prepared to do some suspension mods (sway bars, trac bars, new shocks) on whatever chassis you buy - to make the ride more comfortable.

RE: dingy taillights weak

Make sure the circuits are grounded back to the MH. If you're using the toad chassis for ground, make sure the toad and MH chassis are connected with a ground wire. Don't rely on your hitch connection for ground.

You might also have a defective check valve. That's what caused one of my jacks to stick down.

RE: Monthly Satelite Service?

DirecTV also lets you suspend and resume service as you see fit. You do not pay any fees when the account is suspended. A stipulation is that the 2-year agreement is in place for only the time you have the account active.

RE: Windows 7 will not shut down

Holding the power button down for about 10 seconds over rides all the Windows mashing about and kills power on my laptop. Pushing the power button again starts a reboot. Maybe this is too simple.

You might want to look at the HP Deskjet 3050A J611. Small size; Scan, copy, and print via USB or wireless. Works well with both Ipad and PC.

RE: Chasis handling

One thing that makes Motorhomes with Ford or Workhorse chassis sensitive to crosswinds (or to passing 18-wheelers) is that the coach box and the axles are not tied well together laterally.
That is to say, when a side wind catches the motorhome, the coach box and the chassis rails move some small amount before the axles move. This is a problem common to the design of leaf spring suspensions.
The fix for this problem is to solidly tie the coach box and chassis rails to both the front and rear axles by using Trac (panhard) bars. Sideways movements then occur at the same time to all the components of the motorhome, and see-sawing the steering wheel is basically eliminated from your driving experience.
