RE: *** Roof Mounted Generator? ***

Let me tell you, carbon exhaust is nothing to play with.I come from the boating world in the mechanic way and went to the onan generator schooling and we spent countless hours on the danger of exhaust. Its for real.Even though we were on the marine side it spent the majority of this topic in the camper side of it.It is dangerous and you better pay attention to the exhaust and were you put it.I wouldn't run my portable genset no closer than the length of my power cord. Its just not worth the convinience factor to mount it somewhere on the camper.Don't think it can't happen to you as I've seen countless pics and stories in the onan school. They did it to scare us straight, not to scare us blind.

RE: will furnace run with battery off?

It won't run without 12v. but I hope you turned the propane off also. :h No I didn't,was in a hurry and forgot all the important stuff.I only had roughly guessing around 10-15lbs of propane so not a big loss.If nothing else would run then the propane wouldn't matter would it.

will furnace run with battery off?

I went camping last weekend and when done put the camper away in storage with the thought of 1 more camping weekend.Last night I remembered that I never turned the furnace thermostat off.Its still set at the 70 when I used it last weekend.I did however turn the battery switch off.I think the furnace won't run but need some reassurance that it won't run if the blower won't run.

Crazy progressions?

Just wondering if anyone was as camping crazy as I am?I just purchased my new 2010 fiver and this makes my 3rd camper.Started with an used 06 fleetwood hybrid, then 5 months later a new 08 32' TT and then this fall a new 2010 34' Montana Mountaineer. What was some or your 1st to current rig?Just wondering if anyone else got the camping bug as bad as I did.Just to let you know that I am done buying campers for a while,as long as my wife doesn't fall in love with something else.Just need to keep her out of the dealers.ha,ha,ha

RE: My girlfriend hates me...

You will love the Montana, they are a great camper and maybe she will learn to love her more than you....My wife loves camping so much she is the one who goes and picks out the campers and then I buy them and use it way more than she does as she is a nurse and haves to work every other weekend so she misses out on a lot of camping. She picked out our new Montana mountaineer a month ago and I got to pick out the truck.F 250 Lariot diesel fully loaded also so I had fun with that...Take her camping and she will more than likely fall in love with it...If not you still have a great looking truck and trailer to come home to...lol

RE: "I BELIEVE"...................

I believe that I should have waited to buy my 1st fiver as I have only camped 2 times in her. Then the weather turned to******and doesn't look good all the way thru Halloween.I told my wife that I surrender and am going to winterize the girl this weekend.OH I hate to say those words.

RE: What is this on my truck?

Well,I had to look myself again and in the picture it sure does look like there is 2 tires and when the debate started up I to thought that there was 2 tires by the picture. So in the rain went out and looked around and only found 1 tire.Dang the picture sure did fool me also. That is why my response after the one reply about 2 tires was,"holy crap,I didn't even see that"Now I don't feel so stupid about how many spare tires I have.

RE: Batteries not charging from truck

some plugs aren't wired to charge.I had a Mercury Mountaineer that would charget the camper and then went to a larger tt and needed a larger truck. My Expedition wouldn't charge the battery on the TT.I now have an F250 and it will charge the battery.I was told by the dealer that some are not wired to do so,but you could easily do it with another wire run.

RE: What is this on my truck?

So it looks to be a solved mystery, and a "quote, one hell of an airbag system ',Now who wants to start the bidding.Ha,ha,ha.How would I know if it is a manual or an onboard air compressor?

RE: What is this on my truck?

I see 2 spare tires in the pitchure at different heights from the ground. One is in front of the other. Strange looking set-up. Appears to be something the previous ownwer dreamed up and installed. Ask whom ever you bought it from what it is for and what it does. Be sure to let us know what it is! Holy crap,I never even noticed the 2 spare tires, wow.I was so struck by this never seen before hitch that I never even saw the other tire.I'm starting to think this former owner who I don't know as the truck was bought at an auction, was a little over the top person. Why would you need this set up on a F250 diesel truck. How many times has anyone had 2 flats at once. Now I'm scratching my head even more. Thanks for the observation though.

RE: What is this on my truck?

I've never seen one before but this is a hitch for a bumper pull trailer with air bags to absorb the shock. Yes it is a bumper pull type hitch with airbags.Just don't know if it is worth anything.I don't need it anymore.

What is this on my truck?

I bought the truck and had a fifth wheel hitch installed as I bought a 5ver a couple weeks back.Didn't even notice the hitch on the back until this weekend crawling around looking at thing. It isn't like what I am used to seeing,is this a nice hitch and if so is it worth some money as I won't be towing with this anyway.I could use some help with figuring out what it is,who makes them.Help me out as it has me a little confused.http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac357/bladesammy/IM000300.jpg?t=1255561649

RE: Got any suggestions????

I like that KZ layout but does it really only have 40 gallons of grey water capacity on a 39' 5th wheel? I hope it's a mis-print and has (2) 40 gal. grey tanks. I to read that and couldn't believe it would hold so little, other than that it looks realy cool.

RE: WEATHER IS COLD!!!!

Don't you just love those southerners, never heard a peep out of them all summer long, now they chime in.Oh thats because they can't breath most of time, from mid April until mid October because its so dam hot and humid, they can't even think to crawl out of their homes none the less campers. At least we can enjoy the lovely leaves changing into a spectacular leaf show, then the pretty white fluffy stuff. Its worth it to see the kids have so much fun.We just build a bigger fire and put on a hat and gloves and enjoy the weather,as we don't have a choice like some of you snow birds...... Wildwood: I'm a Michigan native 39 years removed. My late father's employment brought us down here. I sure as hell didn't come voluntarily. Now that I'm all "grown up" I'd love to go back to Michigan, but that's something that won't happen until the real estate market gets its groove back, especially down here......... And what you said is not true; I crawl out of my house regularly to mow the lawn and get in the pool! ;) I was joking around and I hope I didn't offend anyone,I wish I could camp year round also.
