RE: Question (again) from the road

Yes that is how it works, but not recomended by yours truley. If you run it manually then you know what you always have for gas and when to look to refill. Its hell to run out of gas at 11pm 100 miles from a propane station and it 30 degrees outside.

RE: trailer tire/axle alignment

Axle alighnment is common.Call an ASH (AUTO SAFETY HOUSE)If there is one in your area. You may have hit a curb in your travels and bent it out.On some rigs the axles are barely hefty enough for the load. You may inquire about what you have verses what you are carrying, for a few $ more you can upgrade.

RE: Fiberglass dented

Delamination may be the culprit.Best to get behind it and survey the problem. If it is delamed than after repairs the culprit for the delaming has to be found and corrected.

RE: Tools you pack along in your TT?

Lots of tool inventory mentioned. What I always recomend to clients is.Take your rig to a large parking lot and deflate one tire and put on the spare, now you know what is required to do that task.Next get the rig home and do a very through walk around for every different screw head you will need a screw driver or a set of matching tips.Throw in a cheap socket set with extensions a cheap multimeter and a few adjustable wrenches and hide it all out of sight. The jack from my TV does the job so no need to carry another. So that is your start in 5 yrs this list will grow to 50lbs of accumalated must haves, that you can not leave home without.

RE: Solar power

Unless you go very overboard with panels, you may be wasting money.I would go with a generator. The last few panels ThatI worked with did not measure up to their rated output. The ones at Harbor Freight were as much as 40% off.

RE: Batteries: Marine/RV or Marine?

Depends on your needs, and avaliable redundentcies.I like wally World group 29 since I dry camp for long periods and just run my geny a few hrs a day.If your TV can power the TT and charge the battery and you do not really depend on it get a smaller cheaper battery.

RE: Loud AC

Depending on the type of the noise, I would climb up on the roof and remove the cover and run it.The shroud or fan housing may be the culptit. All you should hear is the fan pushing air and the compressor humming. Also check the inside filters for chafing or obstructions.

RE: Good Wax ????

I use Collinite Fleeetwax on my boat and TT. The ritual takes me 3 days but its worth it for 2-3 yrs.Wash the victim with warm soapy water with a heavy dose of TSP to remove all the old wax.Polish to rub out scratches and apply 2 coats of wax.

RE: Not super impressed with Dometic fridge controls

I spend about 10 min setting the reefer up and hope its working. As long as the check light is off Iam home free.P.S. do not believe the propaganda about all auto. Mine never does switch to another power source unless selected, not now at 8yrs old nor when it was brand new, and I was getting the snow job from the dealer.

RE: boondocking - why do you do it and where?

"Boondock" camping comprises 99% of my camping. For me its the only way to go.Away from the madning crowd.Last year I used my TT for 40 days, One day was spent in a campground. It was because after 650 miles of towing I was beat.So I spent the night in a "CAMPGROUND".

RE: Back up camera suggestions

I have the Iball unit, and I am very pleased with it. Its portable so I attach it to the rear of the TT when backing in a tight spot.It paid for itself with divedens a few weeks back when I got boxed in and had to worm my way out.
