RE: Parallel Parking a 5th Wheel

Now if they would only require a boat operators test before allowing the boat on the water. Heck all you have to do is pay your money, drive away and launch. Some of these folks are scary at the ramps and on the water.

RE: Fresh water drain

Our fresh water tank drain is located between the axles. Hard to see unless you look closely.

RE: Making the switch

We bought our TC 15 years ago. Since the wife has trouble climbing into the cabover bunk we bought the FW. Still keeping the TC when I stay at a local lake for our Coast Guard Auxiliary Patrol activity.

RE: Winterizing

Glad to hear I'm not the only one with memory lapse.:) Bill

RE: Winterizing

If you have opened the outside shower to drain it, makes sure the valves are closed before sucking the pink stuff from the jug or you will be pumping the antifreeze on the ground. Been there and done that. Bill

RE: Why No Basement Storage?

We moved from a truck camper with no storage to a fifth and find the two compartments adequate for our needs.

RE: tailgate hits front storage compartment (and another issue)

You could also just remove the tailgate.

RE: How do I break the model number code?

Our 2660RKS, is 28'2", pin to rear bumper. Just by looking at it, the 2660 I guessed at 26 ft.

RE: How do I break the model number code?

For our fw, RKS means rear kitchen, small slide (jack knife couch) SS would be a super slide (couch and dinette). Hope this helps. Bill

RE: Light Weight Fifth Wheels 1/2 ton towable

When we chose our fifth, the weight was not a factor. We liked the floor plan, etc. Of course we tow with a 1 ton D/A and could have gone longer and heavier but, the Tango suits our needs.

RE: Oxygenics shower head?

We bought ours at Camping World when they were on sale with a free shower curtain. We have the glass shower stall so the curtain is pretty much useless for us. It is a 1000% improvement over the stock RV shower head. We seems to rinse off faster, using less water, with it also. Bill

RE: Light Weight Fifth Wheels 1/2 ton towable

Our Pacific Coach Works, Tango, model 2660 RKS, is listed as 1/2 ton towable with a dry weight of 6800#'s and a pin weight of 1000#'s. Bill

RE: One more thing to check

Seems like some folks just can't mind their own business and leave other people's property alone. And it seems to be happening more and more.

RE: One more thing to check

Turn Key, I did the same thing on my B&W hitch. No worries from pranksters. Bill

RE: Using your onboard shower??

We moved up from a truck camper with the wet bath to a fifth with the separate shower. We us ours all the time. I usually take a "Navy" shower and the wife takes a longer one but still plenty of hot water.

RE: 4 Burner Cooktop or stove

You might have issue with having it fit the existing cutout in the cabinetry and the countertop.

RE: Check your 7-pin plug

Good point! It does not take much to prevent contact with the mating plug.

RE: If you could change one thing....

Vulcaneer, I too did not like the "mousehole" for the shore power cable. I cut an opening around the cable and installed a locking box. Now have easy access to the cable. Bill

RE: If you could change one thing....

For us these changes would be nice: From a short queen to a king mattress. Additional lighting outside; the one light by the door is totally inadequate. Additional 110v outlets outside. Shower on the curb side for doing dishes instead of bringing them into the kitchen. We have adapted. Bill

RE: Stabilizers which ones are better?

Winfield Products stabilizers and between-the-wheel chocks.
