RE: Bike Shifter

It's going to be hard to find a replacement for a 7 speed shifter. Even most low end bikes have at least an 8 speed now days. You might have to upgrade the complete drivetrain. New shifter, derailleur, cassette (gears) and chain. If it's a Pacific-Cycle bike you would probably be better off just buying a new one if that's the case. If I had to bet I would say you have a Shimano drivetrain and a 2:1 is what you will need.

RE: Buyer beware of RV Parts Country…

If you want to learn by your "own" experiences go right ahead. Waste your money. I prefer to read reviews and complaints on firms. Gives me a good perspective on what to expect in customer service based on others experiences. Happy trails, I agree. Would you rather buy from a company that gets good reviews or bad reviews? If I know company "A" is more reliable than company "B" there is no doubt where I would buy from. I believe anyone in their right minds would do the same. When a company treats me exceptionally wrong or right I like to post it for others to see. Because some people, like myself, like to know what others think about a company.

RE: Buyer beware of RV Parts Country…

What if they don't provide a RGA#? Which they DID NOT. I guess if they fail to do their job then you get the charge! Now that is just WRONG! My bad! I guess they did give us a RGA#. And I'm positive if they gave it to us I put it on the package label. But I still think that's funny that they word it that way. Because they keep telling me that they can't find it.

RE: Buyer beware of RV Parts Country…

A lot of places have a restocking fee and I understand the reasoning for it. But... "may apply depending on the reason for return". The items I ordered were not as described on their website so technically the items sent were not what I ordered. Therefore it was their mistake and not mine and that is a case where the customer should not have to pay a restocking fee. Besides when you ask about a return it would be good karma to tell you that you are going to be charged a restocking fee if they chose to do so. Even if they just paste that message in the return directions. All we got in the replied email was "Send it back to this address...(whatever it was)" Nothing more. This is what I think is interesting from their return policy...."Items sent back without an RGA # may not be credited back if we cannot find the product in our facilities. " What if they don't provide a RGA#? Which they DID NOT. I guess if they fail to do their job then you get the charge! Now that is just WRONG! The funny part of their return policy is the last part "We believe in down home customer service and will stay committed to ensuring customer satisfaction. We abide by these same rules for all of our customers." I beg to differ!

RE: Buyer beware of RV Parts Country…

I get an email from them today stating that "The warehouse has the other tracking numbers now and they think they should have it located by the end of this week so that a credit will be placed to your card." Yea, sure! they "think they should have it located". Seriously, tracking number shows they have it, issue a refund, plain and simple. If you can't find it, how is that my fault! Of course the Credit Card already credited our card and RV Parts Country will be getting a chargeback for it. Am I going to tell them that. NOPE! I'll leave them in the dark like that have been doing to us. I'm sure they will never attempt to issue a refund anyway. Ironically as soon as we were trying to get the refund from them we had someone take that card number and order almost $1,000 worth of computer stuff from the net. Not saying it was them but.... Anyway that card number has been changed. So if they were to even try to issue a refund I doubt it won't be so easy. Do you think they will contact us about it. I bet NOT!

RE: Buyer beware of RV Parts Country…

Richard called my wife back and asked for the UPS tracking number again. Even though I gave him my number and told him if he had any questions to call me. She is busier than I and it's easier to get a hold of me. So I called him back of course he "wasn't available". I left the tracking number with the rude receptionist and asked that he call me back. I call her rude for multiple reasons and she would never give me her name. Of course he would never call me back. I also sent him an email with the number for proof that I gave it to them. My wife called the credit card company and gave them the info on the situation. With the emails, phone calls & tracking numbers they easily saw we had all the proof to show that we were in the right. They credited our card back and RV Parts Country will be getting a chargeback. Interesting email you received. If I learned anything about that business. It's the fact that they can use that southern accent to make it sound like they are doing all they can to help you but in reality all they are doing is BSing you! I'm just glad the problem is solved and I don't have to deal with them anymore. I think it's great what you did. I don't know what you put in that email but I think it would be even better if they knew I was the reason you are not dealing with them anymore.

RE: Buyer beware of RV Parts Country…

I wish more people would. It's less than $50 they owe me but it's ridiculous that any company would do such thing. But it's the point of the matter that pisses me off! After being on hold for another 40 minutes I finally got to talk to Richard and he started feeding me the******that "I just walked in the office and I haven't heard anything back from the warehouse yet" Well, the lady I talked to 40 minutes prior to that said he was in the office. So Who's lying? My wife is calling the credit card company now to see what they can do for us. Because I guarantee they will never "find" that stove cover that we sent back and issue us a refund on their own.

Bill you are a smart man! I have been trying to contact the manager for hours now and of course they are all failed attempts. This time I decided to "hold" and almost 30 minutes now and guess what. He refuses to pick up the phone. Guess I'll be tying up one of their phone lines for a few more hours until I have to leave work. Companies like this just piss me off!!!

RE: Buyer beware of RV Parts Country…

Well, it's been 2 days since I've talked to Richard. He told me he would call be back by the end of the day. He neglected to tell me which day. So I called him about an hour ago. Got the same rude lady I talked to the other day. I asked who I was talking to and she wouldn’t even give me her name. I told her I needed to talk to her manager and she gave me the “what’s your number and I’ll have him call you”. Been there too many time and he NEVER calls back. Told her I’ll wait on hold for him, after being on hold for a good 5 minutes I finally got to talk to him. He is now back to saying their warehouse hasn’t received the stove cover. I reminded him of the UPS tracking number that shows it was received the same time the steps were. He then said “they just called me 30 minutes ago and said they are looking for it”. Then proceeded to tell me they will know something within the hour and he will call me as soon as he finds something out. Yep, over an hour later and still no call. What a surprise!!! I’ll be calling him back here in a few so that he can feed me some more BS stories if they even let me talk to him. Then I’ll be contacting my credit card company. Sounds like that’s the only way I’ll ever see that money again. Once again these people are crooks and I warn you NOT to buy from them. As for atomlinson I wish you luck. And hope you never have problems with your TT you bought from them :S Best price doesn’t always = best service!

RE: Buyer beware of RV Parts Country…

There are many places on-line to buy from. I've bought from Camping World myself. I've never had a problem with them. With that said I've never had to contact them or return anything. But I seriously doubt they would give a person the problems that you get from rvpartscountry

Buyer beware of RV Parts Country…

Short and to the point... DO NOT buy from rvpartscountry.com (aka East Kentucky Trailer Sales, LLC - eastkyrv.com) they are thieves!!! The rest of the story (warning it’s long)... I bought 3 things from them for my TT (1) Triple step for the TT (2) Stove Cover (3) Rigid Tire carrier. When we received the items the steps were wider than they listed on their web site and would not fit our TT. The stove cover was claimed to work with “almost any manufacturer”, it didn’t work well with our Atwood stove. IMO sloppy fit = no fit. The “rigid” tire carrier was not rigid (it folded down). Now grant you the “fold down” cost a couple more dollars but it was NOT what I wanted and I DID NOT order it. I ordered the “rigid” one. I contacted the company via email and asked what we need to do to return the steps and cover. Told them I would keep the carrier because it wasn’t that big of a deal. I got no reply from them for days so I emailed them again asking about the return policy. They replied back and said it was no problem, just mail them back to the following address.... I replied stating that I should not have to pay for shipping since their web site listed the items incorrectly. They then gave us a prepaid UPS tracking label for the steps and nothing for the cover. I went ahead and shipped the cover at my expense. Weeks went by with no credit to my credit card. I tired contacting them multiple times through email and phone. I would get NO response with the email and on the phone they told me I needed to talk to Richard. He was always out of the office when I would call and they told me they would have him call me. I would never receive a call from him or anyone. Filled a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Over a week later and they won’t response to them either. But we finally got an email from them stating that they issued a refund. It was the exact amount for the steps. But nothing for the cover. With multiple failed attempts to contact them I finally got to talk to a person yesterday and the lady I talked to was rude and would not help me. She tried to say they charge a restocking fee and that’s why the full billed amount was not credited. While I was talking she rudely put me on hold and then some guy picked up the phone. He tried to tell me the same story. I explained to him that it was their mistake and I should not have to pay a restocking fee. He then goes on to say they actually credited us about $5 too much. Mind you they were $41.67 from what they owed me which was the price of the stove cover. When I contacted them about returning the items they said NOTHING about a restocking fee. With proof of a UPS tracking number I finally got it through to his head that they have the stove cover and own me $41.67. He finally agreed with me. Said we probably don’t have the refund yet because their warehouse has not issued them a refund on it. Point is they have it so we should have the refund. He told me I’ll check into it and get back to you by the end of the day. To no surprise it’s a day later and NO call, email or credit. I’ll be calling them back tomorrow in hopes of being able to talk to someone that will not lie to me. I have found on the net where others have has similar problems with this company and I will guarantee I will never do business with them again and I “STRONGLY” suggest everyone to stay away from them. They do business very poorly and are thieves. They know what they can get by with and are pissing people off along the way doing it while pocketing the unhappy ex-customers money! Sorry for the long story but I needed to rant a little and wanted to warn others of them. So once again stay away from rvpartscountry.com & eastkyrv.com aka East Kentucky Trailer Sales, LLC , 151 Market Place Spur, London, KY 40741-1798

RE: 2012 Keystone Bullet 230BHS Slide Override?

When I called Keystone I went through the menu options to talk to a "Technical Assistant". The lady that I talked to is the one that told me that it can be accessed with out removing anything. But regardless of what she was looking at it is obvious that it can not be accessed without removing that center piece of wood trim. She put me on hold to "talk to a tech" but came back empty handed by repeating what she had previously told me. It would be harder than hell and take some special technique of drill/flex shaft placement and by relocating it a few times you might be able to open it manually with just the center piece removed. Otherwise you would have to remove the complete piece of trim and If your small enough you might be able to reach in there far enough to manually over ride it. Or you might even have to have a small child do it for you. I would still like to see a video of a Keystone tech (or anyone) manually overriding the slide in or out all the way.

RE: 2012 Keystone Bullet 230BHS Slide Override?

I removed the center piece of trim, it came off pretty easily. There were a few small brad nails holding it on. One of the wires was shorting out on the back of the motor. I wrapped it up good in electrical tape and zip-tied it to a place where it will not get close to any moving parts. Poor design IMO! Replace the center piece of trim with some industrial strength velcro. Hope this holds it on. If not I might try some strong magnets. I still don't understand how your suppose to get to this motor if the slide is in. I called Keystone and the person I talked to told me "You don't have to remove anything to access the motor". I tried to explain that there is NO way a 12" flex shaft extension was going to reach the motor while the slide was in. Especially if you don't remove any trim. The response was "it will be tight but it can be done." I couldn't get them to understand there isn't enough room. I think they really need to look at what they built and modify their tech help book. Oh well, the point is I have it fixed and it should be a better fix than the way it came from the factory.

There is a decorative piece of wood on the valance but no wood plugs. Appears that it is tacked on with small nails. I'm going to try to pry it off in a little while.

RE: 2012 Keystone Bullet 230BHS Slide Override?

Have you found out how to override it? I have a 2010 Keystone Passport 3050BH and I'm in the same boat. I can see the motor but can't find any way to access it due to it being located inside the camper along the outside wall and between the ceiling and slide. That little flex hose is only a 6-8" long and it would have to be 3-4' min to get to it with the slide in. My arms are skinny enough to reach in there if the front piece of trim was off but then my arm would have to be a foot or so longer....

Need help with a manual slideout override.

This is a shot in the dark here. But I hope that someone might be able to help me. I have a 2010 Keystone Passport 3050BH. The slide out will not come in. It went out just fine and now when I go to slide it in the motor or something near it is throwing sparks. I would like to be able to override the motor to slide it in. But I cannot get to the motor due to a piece of trim around the slide out. I could probably remove the trim and get to it so that I can override it but I am afraid of tearing something else up since I don't know how it is put together. If I could get into the motor to override it then I could replace it myself without having to take it to a dealer for them to charge me an arm and a leg. I think I have to be missing something. Should I have to remove trim panels and other stuff just to override the motor? Does anyone have a TT like mine where you cannot get to the motor to override it? It's inside the TT between the ceiling and above the slide along the outside wall. If the trim was off I could easily get to it. But if it was slid in even with the trim off there is no way I could reach it. Unless of course my arms were about 3' long. The space above the slide and ceiling is only about 6-8"

RE: Water Heater Thermostat?

Got the thermostat yesterday. I'll put it in after I get the camper out of storage before our next trip in a few weeks. Yea, I should measure it. But for now I'll just measure it with my hand.
