RE: sofa replacement

I think you're going to really have a problem getting a standard sofa intended for a home through a MH door.
A few years back I removed our sofa so my wife could re-cover it. I was amazed how it broke down into several sections which made it easy to get in and out. If it would have been one piece there's no way it would have gone through the door of our HR Navigator.

RE: TIRE DANGER!! Please Read!!

why is it any person trying to give a heads up or help is attacked by others.
Why not just ignore the post if it rubs you the wrong way?
I need all the help I can muster about tires. I also would not challenge another attorneys post regarding a issue on here.
We all have different experience and areas of knowledge.
It's very helpful information, and because of it I've already ordered my Milton 501.

I like the idea of getting the largest battery that will fit the space.
X2 of course.

RE: 95 Pacearrow Fleetwood Dash removal help

The dash on my '96 Pace Arrow just lifted right up, there was even a rod to hold it up just like on an import car's hood.

RE: Any problem using deep cycle marine batteries for starting ?

You would be better off getting starting batterys for the cummings. Marine batterys are a hybrid capable of providing enough starting amps for a boat motor but also have some steady draw capacity for electronics or a trolling motor or something like that.
Many people, including myself use marine for the RV house battery because of price and not requiring the ampacity of a true deep cycle.
Okay, I'll take your advice. What's your opinion of the Optima that Wolfe10 describes ?

No, these are just the starting batteries.

RE: Any problem using deep cycle marine batteries for starting ?

A marine battery is not a 'deep cycle' battery. I start my V6 chevy block mercruiser with one every chance I get and works every time.
Okay, I always assumed any marine was a "deep cycle".

RE: Any problem using deep cycle marine batteries for starting ?

It's for my Holiday Rambler with a Cummins turbo diesel.
There are two starting batteries, they are four years old and they are marine deep cycle batteries. I am going to replace them before I go on a long trip in a month or so, and was wondering if I should get the same. These batteries always go dead after sitting for a week or two, but they've always charged back up.

RE: Question about Allison 6 speed

By the way, can anyone recommend an Allison service/repair shop in or around Eugene Oregon ? I see that there is at least one facility here.

RE: Question about Allison 6 speed

22 14 = engine speed sensor
56 22 = 2nd range verification test
The engine speed sensor is the forward most sensor and it is on the right lower side of the transmission looking at the tail shaft of the transmission. It should have 300 ohms of resistance when checking across the pins. I would also remove it to make sure there is no metal debris on the sensor. I would fix this one first and see if it affects the other.
The range verification code is probably the one causing the do not shift light. It is not seeing the proper ratio between the input and output for the range that it is in. A number of problems can cause it from intermittent or poor battery connections to worn clutches.
If the speed sensor does not do the trick, you will probably need to take it to the pros to trouble shoot the range verification problem.
...and I agree... if the charging systems is not up to snuff, it may be the cause.
I'll give that a try, thank you.

RE: Question about Allison 6 speed

Experienced very similar situation. Needed new alternator. Electronic transmission will not operate without adequate power.
Oh nooooooooooo ! Boy I hate hearing that, because for whatever reason I'm on my third alternator in five years.

RE: TIRE DANGER!! Please Read!!

Well with all due respect to the OP, and sincere thanks for this information, I will still say that there is no way I am going to call in tire professionals and have them perform a full tire removal if I need to add air. Even if it is 30 or 40 pounds or more.
I will however take the advice and get an air chuck that will stay in place while I stand back.

RE: TIRE DANGER!! Please Read!!

Well this is news to me. Virtually every time my DP sits for a while, I have to put air in all four rears bvefore starting out. Sometimes I'll have to put 30 or 40 lbs in.

RE: Question about Allison 6 speed

Let's hold off on worse case scenarios (shift pads and ECU's) until we see what diagnostic codes he is getting.
Could be something as simple as a loose connector or speed sensor.
Okay, I ran the diagnostics and I did get some codes.
Here's what I got:
In D1 I got "22" and then "14". These repeated over and over.
In D2 I got "56" and then "22". These too repeated over and over.
