RE: Stabilizers

We installed the Steady Fast stablizer system on our heavy Cameo fifth wheel RV last month. Great product and very easy to use. Plus, its only 3 knobs to turn. Phillip

RE: Adding Stabilizers to our camper?

Pete we put steady fast on the Bighorn on the six point level up. I would switch the sides so as not to interfere with the exhaust. Since it only involves three arms, it's not a problem. Steady fast worked great...just involved having the brackets welded to the feet. Just remove pads and take to a weld shop...quick and inexpensive.
Thanks I have 2 welders so the welding is the easy part. Was thinking about building my own somewhat like the steady fast. But for there price and how there made will just order and forget it.

RE: Jack Stabilizer add ons- Which Ones??

I have the Steady Fast system. Install was simple to follow, setup time is only seconds longer than without, and it works really well.

RE: GIGGLY WIGGLY MOTION

Thanks for all the suggestions and your personal experiences,
....if we were a little more permanent with long term stays the scissor jacks would work. We are planning to cross Canada to Vancouver for five weeks this summer and then return home through the northern States. I think Steady Fast are the way to go for us.
Now...finding a dealer in the Toronto area!!!!!
Thanks again, Be safe out there,
Am

RE: GIGGLY WIGGLY MOTION

This is great, I came to find a thread on how to remove the bounce out of my trailer and found this active thread. I appreciate all of the experience that everyone on this forum shares.
Looking at different threads on stabilizer arms I read where one person installed six BAL- Stabilizers (I assume two sets in the front and one in the back). Then looking at the Steady Fast system it is three total arms. Can Steady Fast really achieve the equivalent of 6 BAL stabilizing bars?
Probably, but they don't look as symmetrical. :)

RE: Jack Stabilizer add ons- Which Ones??

Was wondering about adding some Jack Stabilizers to my trailer. Here's 2 I know of:
JT's Strong Arm Jack Stabilizer:
http://tweetys.com/jt-s-strong-arm.aspx
JT Strong Arms
Steady Fast Stabilizers:
http://www.steadyfast.com/faq.html
Steady Fast
There may be others out there I'm not aware of. If so I would like to know.
Finally any comments on which system does a real good job of it??
Many thanks,
I use the stabilizers from BAL on my 29' Jayco Whitehawk. I have a set front and back, they are configured to go 90 degrees to the swing of the jack arm. I may put a 3rd set on the back jacks 90 degrees to the first stabilizer arm.
I also use the BAL Extended X-Chock to try and remove any wheel bounce.
If you could rate the movement before these add-on's, I'd have put it at about a 10, with the Stab arms, and the x-chocks, it's moved down from 10 to about 3.
Good Luck.

RE: Stabilization

I made a set like the steady fast. I also had the gas lines, just threw a wet rag over them when welding. You might have to move the lines to make them work but work they do. I had the BIL push on the side of the 5er and the rig would get to oscillating. I tightened the T handles and he couldn't budge the rig.

RE: Splendide shaking the house(RV)

Don, I made some steady fast type for mine and it works very well. Once locked down you can push on the side and the rig doesn't move. Three lock down points, two in the front and one in the rear.
How did you get to the back side?
Peg I do have it tied down in front, maybe I can crawl under and try there.
About the shaking I'M afraid or thinking it might hurt rig.
Maybe It being a 2000 splendide is also reason.
Been told get stablizers($279, big foot($5000) and roto chocs($65).
I keep in mind if mom's not happy I won't be..
